Gladysrocker · 24/11/2021 22:19

Does anyone have any recommendations for an advent calendar for a 15 year old girl with a max budget of £20? She’s REALLY into make up so the cheaper end ones won’t really be her thing.

Borris · 24/11/2021 22:24
@Borris I think I have some of the stickers that come with the HP Chocolate creatures, I'm happy to post them to you for your dd - just need to check they are still In the last place I saw them (filed away in a drawer)

I'm sure we had the spider and three headed dog.
Amazing thanks. I'll pm you Smile

I was in Aldi this evening and managed to get a santa squishmallow. They had Mrs Santa too but none of the others.
They did have the light up gin out and one of them was flashing away. It was a bit in your face I thought. A bit like having a mini Belisha beacon in your sitting room.

DeftandGlory · 24/11/2021 22:35

I have a few disadvantaged teenage boys to buy for. Experience tells me they don’t “like” or know how to respond to the gift even if they like the idea.
They actually do like body spray / deodorant. I keep all the cans they leave unopened/ rip open and kick around, for the rest of the year when they all happily ask to have a squirt of the emergency spray!
I thought someone might have seen a good deal on some posh/cool stuff. To make a change from Africa.

PathOfLeastResitance · 24/11/2021 22:40

@Tinysnickers

mountain warehouse black friday sale is stacking with 20% off

Use code CUST20 for 20% off, it stacks with the black friday sale prices so can get an extta £20 off a £200 coat which was already half price.

Thank you so much for this additional code. Finally bought myself a much needed new coat rather than sorting everyone else out all the time.
Smileatthesmallthings · 24/11/2021 22:43

@Didyeaye they have them in my local and I'm going to be near there tomorrow for work. Happy to send on for you

If anyone lives in the Southend area, Alton Gardencentre do a £5 Garden Club membership, it lasts for a year and gives 10% off of all plants, indoor and outdoor and water features all day on a Wedensday and Saturday mornings, it also gives members free tea or coffee vouchers to be used throughout the year. It makes a nice little gift for in-laws, grandparents etc.

Smileatthesmallthings · 24/11/2021 22:46

My nearly 5yo DS got obsessed with The Grinch last year, so much so that he cried when it disappeared from Netflix. I'm planning to have a Grinch themed night for him, probably the first Friday in December. Has anyone seen any reasonably priced Grinch goodies anywhere? Socks, PJ's, teddy, small-person sized mug etc?

MrsBerthaRochester · 24/11/2021 22:48

Spacenk have 25% off charlotte Tilbury and free delivery.

LavateLasManos · 24/11/2021 22:51

@Smileatthesmallthings Home Bargains has some Grinch stuff in, and Primark usually do too

Asda definitely had grinch pyjamas and socks. Amazon have a grinch teddy for £15.99. Not that cheap but it's really lovely quality (I saw it in Waterstones).
sycamorescrumptious · 24/11/2021 22:55

Odd, after cancelling my order this morning Argos have let me re-order this afternoon on the 1/3 off Lego + 20% discount. Hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow!

woodwaj · 24/11/2021 22:55

@Smileatthesmallthings boots have Grinch things on 3 for 2.

@catsarebetterthandogs9 thank you Flowers I really appreciate it. He's only just broke it so I'll do a little comparison tomorrow and decide which one I'm going for!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 24/11/2021 22:56

Thank you so much for the Kevin reminder! We try and get them each year for my nursery so will be there before school run tomorrow 😂 fingers crossed there's no queue and dd2 isn't late!! Haha!!

And another thank you for the argos code, kinetic sand and pogo ball ticked of the list for dd2!

I cant remember who needed octonauts figures but I saw in tesco a magazine with little figure and vehicle. Might make a good stocking filler. Also a reminder lego magazines are a good one for stockings, I got dd2 a jurassic world one with set but they also had star wars and DC. £3.99 each which is about the price of an annual but usually includes a poster we can laminate for her wall and activities to do plus the lego.

And someone wanted an idea for their dd? buzzing i think? My dd is 9 and very into fashion etc, she is getting a styling head like hairdressers use with tripod and lots of accessories so she can practise the styles she sees on YouTube.

sycamorescrumptious · 24/11/2021 22:57

Can I ask for any ideas for my 6yo DS? Really struggling with ideas for him as he already has all his DBs hand-me-down toys and no strong interests of his own (beyond screens which I refuse to indulge at 6yo!Blush)

Trying to avoid plastic rubbish too which makes it very difficult!

@smileatthesmallthings check out pinterest there is sooooo many grinch ideas of activities to do. Last year we sold grinch dust at our Christmas fair.

I'm sure primark had some bits and build a bear used to do a soft toy, not sure if they still do?

I got some sets from Hype to break up the lynx fog of three teen boys

I got them when the last 50% code was live - I would be confident it will be repeated in the next week or 2

hype

I’ve also bought some Jack wills ones from boots using my advantage points - if you can hold out usually the week before Christmas they are reduced

@Tinysnickers thanks for the MH code. 2 pairs of wellies and a pair of trainers ordered for DS for £21.50 🙌

How about a metal detector? I've bought one for DH because he's a massive child 🤣 but I think dd2 will enjoy going out with him treasure hunting!

Games? My dd started to really get into board games at that age.

Outdoors stuff? We've got dd a pogo ball as I loved mine as a kid 🤣

A keyboard or other musical instrument?

Digital camera?

Reading kindle if he enjoys books? Not the tablet one that accesses the Internet.

My 4yo DS was the exact same last year. We bought the grinch on Amazon prime last week for £7 and it's honestly been on at least 15 times this year again already
thaegumathteth · 24/11/2021 23:28

Can anyone help? Where / when do you enter the promo code on mountain warehouse?
