I'm buying my DH:
Sauvage aftershave
A calendar with Japanese art work
A glass tea pot and some Earl Grey tea
A book of John Cooper Clark poetry
A linen flat cap for Summer

A jumper that is not navy blue, has no patterns, is not an overly bright colour, and is not unsuitable for a middle aged farmer in any other way Grin Oh, and it needs to be organic / non-sweatshop etc etc

He's absolutely lovely, and actually I'll just buy him a green jumper and he'll be very happy! I'll also buy him some nice socks and a bottle of something, so in practice though his list of requirements made me laugh he's actually very easy.

mdh2020 · 22/11/2021 18:09

A box of cheeses and a map (framed) of the town where he grew up and a fleece lined check shirt. He’s impossible to buy for!

FlickerBeat · 22/11/2021 18:13

My current thoughts are:

Star Wars Lego
A new dressing gown
New pyjamas
Beard grooming kit
New gym clothes

And I'm stuck there Grin

Smeds · 22/11/2021 18:15

I have no idea!

MrMrsJones · 22/11/2021 18:18

Half a puppy (he is buying me the other half)

Then budget of £50
A jigsaw puzzle of our area
Bath bombs (he loves a bath, I hate them)

For the rest of the family we are doing secret Santa with a budget of £30

Primrosefields · 22/11/2021 18:21

A watch he has been looking at each time we go the shopping centre. It will be our 20th Christmas together so will be engraved on the back. Just need to decide on a message.

MissyB1 · 22/11/2021 18:22

I’ve got him
Pair of walking boots
Heated throw
Thermal walking socks
Jumper from Joules

sageandbasil · 22/11/2021 20:50

A bottle of Japanese whiskey that I got him last year which he loved. I've seen a gorgeous green jumper I want to get him as well

sageandbasil · 22/11/2021 20:52

@Sadik this is the green jumper im getting my husband, don't know if it meets your requirements?

What are you buying for your DH/male partner?
Adelais · 22/11/2021 20:57

Mostly boring stuff ... Gym Wear, Jumper, Belt, Pants and Socks

A dad joke book from the kids
Cooling Towels
Spreadsheet mug

pinkksugarmouse · 22/11/2021 22:15

There’s a big age difference between us so whereas there are things I would still like to have DH has everything he wants. To be honest neither of us want much but as he gets gifts for me I can’t not get them for him.

So he has asked for:
A shirt - nothing fancy just a blue long-sleeve cotton shirt
Slippers

We are having a box of hotel chocolat each (we like different ones) to work our way through but he is ordering those.

I am really hoping Ian Rankin brings out a new book very soon. Obviously Terry Pratchett isn’t going to. Other than that he prefers to get his books from the works and then pass them to the charity shop.

No hobbies
He doesn’t drink
The only jewellery he wears is his watch and wedding ring
No interest in aftershave
He doesn’t drive
He isn’t particularly a “foodie”

🤷🏻‍♀️

ParkheadParadise · 22/11/2021 22:19

Cufflinks
Aftershave
Wireless charger
Whisky experience in Edinburgh.

alexio · 22/11/2021 22:25

VW camper van socks
VW camper van thermal mug
Bruce Springsteen/Obama book
Knife set (he's a chef)
Bath and body works make shower gel

Allsorts1 · 22/11/2021 22:28

Currently planning

New belt for work suits
New jumper for work (I shrink the last one)
Possibly snow boots
Still thinking of more things - possibly a voucher for a nice massage/reflexology somewhere

He says he doesn’t want clothes but then always loves (and lives in) whatever I get him and complains that any gift for the house is securely a gift for myself haha so not really sure what else I can get!

Allsorts1 · 22/11/2021 22:30

*secretly a gift for me

Timeisavirtue · 22/11/2021 23:26

Got DP
Nike trainers
2 pairs of adidas trackies
Weighted blanket
Hotel chocolat chocs
Bless this house dvd ( he actually asked specifically for this)
Box of lush bath bombs

Primrosefields · 23/11/2021 09:39

That's lovely. Thank you

Sadik · 23/11/2021 10:19

@sageandbasil that looks lovely, I will run it past him (which sounds boring, but he CBA to shop beyond nipping into Next or similar so the Christmas present bit is mostly my putting in time finding a selection of more interesting options :) )

Sadik · 23/11/2021 10:21

I think this in green might also fit the bill. The mustard colour got a definite NO when I ran it past him - don't think there was green in stock at that point.

Sadik · 23/11/2021 10:33

Also been looking at This from Finisterre

TreaslakeandBack · 23/11/2021 10:38

Socks
Boxer shorts

17caterpillars1mouse · 23/11/2021 14:08

So far I've got him

  • a history map recommended on a different thread
  • Percy pig pajamas
  • some shower steamers
  • Bob Ross talking bobble head
  • some treaty bits (mint hot chocolate powder, Joe and seph's popcorn, macaroons, Percy pig sweets, Fry's Turkish delight)

Im trying to find him a gin and lemon pannetone and maybe some slipper socks
