If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.

@GirlWithTheYellowHat yes I just checked my receipt and they’re £11.99 in store.

Some things do seem to be a fair bit cheaper in store. I know the online shop typically adds £5 postage onto the display price of each item.

On the same trip we bought a Hot Wheels set that was £22.99 without VAT and 27.58 with. We bought it and when I checked the receipt we were only charged £22.99.

PeppaPigWorld · 23/11/2021 17:35

https://www.aosom.co.uk have quite a few Black Friday offers, including 15% off and some items for £1. They sell things like homeware, sports and pets items and toys.

Secondly, I could do with some iPhone advice. Thinking of buying my 11 yr old one for Christmas, but I don't know much about them. I certainly don't intend to buy the latest model, but I'm not sure how far back I can go without the models being a bit obsolete, if that makes sense? So, for example, would an iPhone 8 be any good? Am happy to buy a reconditioned one. I'd be grateful for any advice or deals!

Daisy829 · 23/11/2021 17:36

@guineapigs I ordered some jo malone which hasn’t been despatched yet. But I have had everything else. Fingers crossed.

Mumofboys1317 · 23/11/2021 17:37

Does anyone know of any discount codes for argos? I have quite a big spend with them and anything to soften the blow would be great. I thought they used to have a promotion where you spend X amount and get a £5 or £10 voucher. But not sure if thats a seasonal thing.

MeredithGreyishblue · 23/11/2021 17:40

@Beakerandbungle

Apologies if already posted but sweaty Betty 25% off site wide is live for members ( no cost just sign up)
I'm really glad I didn't buy the bag in selfridges yesterday when the lying toad of an assistant said they weren't doing BF! I'm not buying it at all now, in spite!!!
Rubyroo73 · 23/11/2021 17:45

For anyone looking for Dr Martens, AllSole are doing 25% off selected styles with code treat2.

TheGirlWhoLived · 23/11/2021 17:48

@PeppaPigWorld (hi Boris! Grin) re the iPhone, they tend to go obsolete software wise quite quickly…. I personally wouldn’t buy below an X at the moment, ideally a reconditioned 11 would be optimal id say! For dd’s 11th we got her an SE 2020 version, but she particularly wanted a smaller phone. On contract it was £25 a month and there will be a lot of contract offers around for Black Friday too.

PeachTea1 · 23/11/2021 17:56

Camera help here please! Looking for a compact camera, ideally that works underwater, for my 9 year old. Budget not sure, in the region of £60-150? Would be prepared to pay for a good one. Am looking at second hand, but does anyone have any recommendations?

shinny · 23/11/2021 18:03

@PeppaPigWorld re phone - agree totally that Apple phones stop working so well after 2-3 years so an SE is a great option.

I went to discuss contract offers with Three and its a better deal to buy the phone outright if poss.

studentvera · 23/11/2021 18:16

I'm hoping for a £10 off Boden voucher. Would anyone kindly pm me one? Hugely appreciated in advance x

ilovebrie8 · 23/11/2021 18:20

No sight of any M&S discounts....anyone got any insider knowledge if they are doing Black Friday deals? Zilch appearing on sparks ..

Cantquitebelievewhatitscometo · 23/11/2021 18:21

Does any one know of some discount codes or Black Friday plans for Le Creuset, please? They are stocked in JL, selfridges and Harrods, but I don’t see any reductions yet. Thank you.

TuftyMarmoset · 23/11/2021 18:21

@PeppaPigWorld It depends how long you envisage him using it for I think. I’ve had two iPhones, I water damaged the first one after 4 years and my current one (SE bought in 2017) is now also 4 years old and is still supported, receiving updates and I can still get all the apps. I would have thought an 8 would be fine for a few more years, as they would be the same age or newer than my current phone, but I probably wouldn’t go earlier than that. My 2013 iPad mini is no longer being updated.

captainjacksparrow · 23/11/2021 18:26

PinkPanther27 · 23/11/2021 18:49

@Fuckingfuckssake

I'm being driven mad by the Aldi Squishmallows, I've been into my local store every day since Thursday, and now they're sold out online, I'd be eternally grateful if anyone would be able to grab me one and post? Happy to organise postage from my end.
Which one are you looking for?
Haveyoubrushedyourteeth · 23/11/2021 18:52

@naturalblondeyeahright don't forget to go through Topcashback. I placed an order earlier in DH name, as a new customer, so got 10% discount and 10% cashback which made it slightly less painful.
