We do stockings on Christmas Eve, something we carried over from DH’s childhood so it has everything in preparation for Christmas Eve night.

New PJs, new slipper socks, new dressing gown that we put on after bath time on Christmas Eve night as I always like them to be fresh and clean on Christmas morning (stupid I know).
A Christmas bath bomb each depending whether they want to bathe separately or together, the other will save for the hols and I have a spare in case one uses theirs.
A Christmas DVD, this year it’s Arthur Christmas.
A selection of sweets and chocolates, whatever they’re into that year. One has some Vanilla Oreos and Malteaser buttons, the other has Twirl Bites and Raspberries (don’t ask).
A bottle of Ribena (a weird thing that started last year when the eldest commented we only get it at Christmas and it’s the best Christmas drink)
Reindeer Food which is oats in a bag.
A tiny flag for the front garden that’s brought out every year so the big man knows where we live (again a strange tradition)
The Jolly Christmas Postman get rewrapped each year.
A hot chocolate on a stick thing.
A couple of little toys - Slime, mini bop it and a rubrix cube for eldest, a chase figurine, a Liberty figurine and a Ryder doll for youngest.

We also do a big bag of shit food given in a little basket and there’ll also be a giant tub of popcorn, lemonade, a sharing bag of crisps, some cupcakes and sweets, probably skittles and starbursts, chocolate covered strawberries and coke that all of us will share over the next few days/DH and I will demolish when they’ve gone to bed.

Arethechildreninbedyet · 20/11/2021 19:42

Apologies also chocolate buttons and an orange!
