Hello all, just a wee reminder if you’re looking for apple products, the apple website does refurbished items at a good discount if that’s not an issue for you. Got older DD one for birthday a year and a half ago and it arrived in perfect condition and you genuinely couldn’t tell it wasn’t brand new. Ordered an 8th gen iPad for younger DD for £249 this morning, stock goes on and off pretty quick but may be worth a look

We have brought all our iPads over the years refurbished and can vouch they are in perfect condition and still going strong several years after purchasing.

The JL code is still working, this is ridiculous it will literally cost them thousands if they allow all the orders.

Feeling slightly annoyed that the threads been taken over by JL posts. This happens several times a year, I remember one year when M&S had a glitch on sofas and I bought a sofa for £3, I did not get said sofa. I did get conformation of my order (it means nothing) and a day later got a email to say it was a glitch and they will not be selling me a sofa for £3. It’s a glitch people, there’s not a chance JL are going to give you loads of free stuff 😬.

I’m missing all the other bargains because the threads filling up with JL posts 😢.

Thread title could be "when we all got deals at JL and contributed to someone losing their job, falalalala"

@Lovemusic33 I agree and also John Lewis is a really ethical company with the employees being shareholders so this could hurt anyone that works at the partnership if the orders go through.

Just to be a downer on the JL joy. The John Lewis in our town was one of the stores they closed down this year despite a strong local campaign, a lot of people lost their jobs. It’s now our vaccination centre. I won’t be trying to exploit their mistake.

JL will just cancel the orders they haven’t sent out yet, and the ones that have been sent may get “lost”. It’s arguably a good thing so many people took advantage - easier for them to cancel them all as it was flagged to them sooner.

Love the ethical spirit on this thread. I used to work for JL and I believe they had little to no staff bonus this year having worked through the pandemic so don't think it's right to exploit the code.

Sorry to clog up the thread, the orders will probably be cancelled but if not, on my confirmation email (I still feel the guilt, I bought quite high value stuff I was going to buy anyway, a few things over £100 so didn’t order lots of free things although got ysl foundation very cheaply and some nice Christmas cards 😬 but still exploited the glitch and have felt guilt, not the bargain joy like I normally do!) there is a banner saying John Lewis is donating £1million to charities and it gives you the option to donate too, so maybe we could all donate? I’ll probably donate even if the orders don’t go through!
