What are you putting in yours?

Do you try and do different each year or similar things?

I want to get things that will actually be used, I’m pretty sure they still have unused lip balms/body sprays etc. Then friends buy them toiletries for birthdays, we have so much!

Hit me with some ideas please!

Haven’t got it yet but for DD14 it’s likely to be Percy pigs, mini panettone, nail varnish, fluffy socks, chocolate, a nice drink (can/small bottle), tea lights, hot chocolate sachets, small puzzle or something to do, maybe a key ring this year. Less dull suggestions very welcome!

Underthestairsbears · 12/11/2021 18:10

DD nearly 13 is having:
Anklet
Indie style ring
Incense sticks
Oreo selection box (if it fits)
Make up
Friends game
Bisto (don't ask!)

bendmeoverbackwards · 12/11/2021 18:14

I always put in a Lindt chocolate reindeer, that’s tradition! And a few other sweets/choc.

Stationery (pastel highlighters, washi tape, post its and metallic sharpies)
Book (first in the Shopaholic series)
Magazine (Glamour)
Hair scrunchie
Joe and Seph’s popcorn
Red velvet Yankee votive
Hand warmers

Mummyoflittledragon · 12/11/2021 19:06

Really hard, isn’t it? I usually go for about 7 items. So far I have bought a giant chocolate coin (tradition), slightly higher end serum and moisturiser, mirror tray. Was thinking about getting a game we could all play for the PS4 as dd doesn’t go on it anymore. Am searching for a decent board game. Perhaps a subscription to Readily to try to encourage reading.

Boring boring I know.

bendmeoverbackwards · 12/11/2021 19:19

What’s a mirror tray @Mummyoflittledragon?

Exploding kittens is a fun card game if you’re looking for something new!
UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 12/11/2021 21:12

Dd is 15 and I find her stockings easy to do.
Chocolate such as a Starbucks gold coin
Pair of pants
Pair of socks, used to be novelty ones but now usually branded such as gilly hicks or pink.
A few make up items coloured eyeliner, mascara, lipstick/ gloss. She’s very into makeup though so appreciate if they aren’t this would be a rubbish gift.
Scented candle or incense for her room
Bath bomb from lush. Has to be a lush one
Stickers and washi tape. (She has a penpal)
Drink either from the American store or the Japanese soft drink in a glass bottle with a Marne in the top that’s really hard to open!
American sweets such as gum or Swedish fish.
There’s a garden centre near us that has American sweets and other continents that’s really reasonable. (Longacres is anyone nearby)

Maybe some jewellery like a bracelet or necklace. Usually from brandy Melville

And this year I’m thinking some crystals as she’s very into crystals at the moment and maybe some angel cards.

Maybe need tk check the threads for stocking ideas for 24 and 19yr old sons. As if I’m still doing dd a stocking they will both be home for Christmas. I need to be organised this year as we are away all going to plan and coming home around 9pm Christmas Eve.

Nike socks,
Fake eyelashes
Heroes bag of sweets
Diffuser
Fluffy socks
Hair products to go with GHD curler I've got her

Ericaequites · 12/11/2021 23:04

My mother always put a tube of Jockey ladies’ bikinis in our stockings. Extra pencils, pencils, and special themed school supplies are nice. A bracelet or charm for an ongoing charm bracelet are fun. Condoms for older girls and boys would be useful , but consider your child before adding this.

Welcometothejingles · 13/11/2021 01:37

I'd have died of embarrassment if I had to pull out a bra, thongs and condoms from my stocking in front of the whole family as a teen!

My go to stocking gifts:
Kellogs variety cereals
Tubes of chocs/sweets
Socks
Stationary items
Money Minder Keyring
Mini board games such as articulate
Playing cards
Usb Portable Charger for mobiles
Pre paid pret/Costa etc gift card
Small Travel mug/food flask
Small torch/mini head torch
Poundshop Mini first aid kit
Mini foldaway shopper
M&S Christmas melting hot choc flakes
M&S christmas star cookies £2 pack
M&S gift pack of mini Christmas jams (I split the pack between the dc)
Baptist hair shampoo

GreenGlassGlisten · 13/11/2021 05:46

Good god , so much stuff. I used to do a few items, then put much less in. You all must permanently shop.
Pants, body spray, chocolate of some variety, satsuma

GreenGlassGlisten · 13/11/2021 05:47

And I would never give a child or teen candles . Ever

Moomarre · 13/11/2021 06:38

Face masks
Earrings
A small dish to put random shit on
A magazine
A book
Phone chargers
Earphones
Vegetarian sweets
Chocolate
Shower steamer
Shower gel
Popcorn seasoning

Welcometothejingles · 13/11/2021 07:41

The items I've listed above are things I've given over the years rather than gifted in a single year. You'd need a giant stocking lol!

Shylo · 13/11/2021 07:46

Some great ideas here thank you, but wow how big are some of your stockings!!

Pippi1970 · 13/11/2021 07:51

Luckily our stockings are quite small

Three teen dds from 15 to 22

Boots own cheapy skin serum
Proper French soap
A funko pop for dd15
A book
A silly game
Nice gilly hicks pants
Chocolate stirrers
A grooming brush for the horsey one
A fun Xmas piece of jewellery to wear on the day
A mug
A candle
Various beauty bits

Pippi1970 · 13/11/2021 07:51

@GreenGlassGlisten

And I would never give a child or teen candles . Ever
Confused
Pippi1970 · 13/11/2021 07:54

Oh yes a bath bomb
Small bottle fizz or gin (older teens young adults)

I wouldn't put condoms in but bras and pants aren't embarrassing in our house!

GoodnightGrandma · 13/11/2021 07:55

@GreenGlassGlisten

And I would never give a child or teen candles . Ever
Agree, I wouldn’t give mine anything that involved a flame.
