I bought this wonderful book for my daughter as part of her Christmas present last year. Then I treated myself to a copy in the spring!
It's a fantastic book, full of stories, photography, poetry and 100 recipes for the Christmas season. As a hardback book with gold foil detailing it would even look gorgeous laid out as part of your Christmas decorations.

Each chapter roughly follows the days leading up to Christmas, and we've decided to read and share our thoughts about each chapter in the run up to Christmas, starting from late November if I remember correctly.

I thought it would be a lovely thing to share with someone you love. Currently £18.29 on Amazon.

I also have this book and love it dearly.

Dillidilly · 09/07/2021 06:34

@reallyworriedjobhunter do you re-read every year? I'm hoping it will become part of my Christmas traditions. I just love everything about from the cover in!

I have this book and pull it out every year! I love it. Some years when I'm hacked off with the consumerism of christmas it helps me get back into the spirit

katienana · 09/07/2021 06:55

I have it on kindle sounds like it's not quite the same!

lollipoprainbow · 09/07/2021 07:01

Just ordered one managed to find for £5 from world of books!! Sounds like it's my kind of book, love Nigel anyway, thanks for the recommendation!

EverythingDelegated · 09/07/2021 07:09

I've had mine for about three years and love it, although I've never made it right to the end. Nigel has a series of podcasts to go with it which are lovely too.

ShowOfHands · 09/07/2021 07:14

I meant to get this last year and forgot entirely so thank you!

Bugger Amazon though. Pristine copy, £4.50 on ebay.

bookgirl1982 · 09/07/2021 07:15

There's a podcast with Nigel reading extracts - so good for making you feel festive.

southlondoner02 · 09/07/2021 07:21

I love the podcast of this. I listened to it on walks on the run up to Christmas last year. It was really soothing and a lovely antidote to all the stress that can arise in the run up to Christmas

Dillidilly · 09/07/2021 07:29

Ahhh, I'm so pleased to find others who feel the same way!
I'm so, so looking forward to sharing it with my daughter. We live a little distance apart, and I'm hoping it will be a lovely way to connect during the run up to Christmas.

I'm thinking of laying Nigel artfully on a tray, with my hardback copy of Rosamund Pilcher's Winter Solstice on top after I discovered that under her old dust jacket she's purple with thick gold lettering! Happy sigh lol!

Christmas books always form part of my decorations in winter. I have 2 wicker baskets full of Christmas books (I collect them) and throughout December, I put some out on the coffee table (actually a chest) and swap them around regularly. Some of them are just beautiful. If you like a wonderful illustration, Robert Ingpen is fabulous and we have his illustrated versions of A Christmas Carol, The Nutcracker and The Night Before Christmas. They look wonderful in our candlelit snug throughout December and we sit and read them with/to the children.

@ShowOfHands love it!! ❤

This sounds like my perfect Christmas book! Have just ordered it...

FiloFaxx · 10/07/2021 13:38

Is it weird to ask for this for my summer birthday? 🤔

LaurieFairyCake · 10/07/2021 16:03

I've just ordered it off Amazon for £4.50!

They had 27 'as new' copies available

Thanks you 😊

GreyhoundG1rl · 10/07/2021 16:07

I got in on Kindle for 99p! Not the same at all, though. I might have to indulge myself with a hardcopy version.

Dillidilly · 10/07/2021 22:32

I must try and remember to start a new thread in late November in case anyone wants to 'read along' and share their thoughts, recipe attempts, etc x

Purchased. Thank you for the recommendation.

feliciabirthgiver · 10/07/2021 22:51

Thank you, just bought 'as new' copy for £5.

MarisPiper92 · 14/07/2021 09:19

I received this as a gift about two years ago, and I have made it a tradition to read it every year. Would be very keen for a read along thread come November!

FlibbertyGiblets · 14/07/2021 09:25

This thread 😍😍😍😍😍😍
