My PILs and my BIL.

Have to start planning what I'm going to cook - it won't be turkey as none of us are that keen, so will probably be roast pork.

It's not the Christmas dinner that takes that much planning, tbh, it's all the other meals/snacks that I have to think about. It's easy to rustle something up for 4 of us, but not so easy when there are 7 to think about!

Carmenere · 17/11/2007 15:05

I am very excited because we are going to Ireland to my sisters and she is having the whole family. there will be 18 of us Admittedly I will probably end up doing most of the cooking but that is ok as I love it

Carmenere · 17/11/2007 15:05

And with my mum and sisters and brothers it will be cooking by committee

JARM · 17/11/2007 15:05

My dad and that is it - will be very chilled out and relaxed.

artichokes · 17/11/2007 15:08

My ILs, my BiL and my grandmother in law.

It is the first time we are hosting them for Christmas day. We normally go to their place. However, I lost my Mum three years ago and I find it really hard being at their house as they do Chirstmas so different to my Mum. This year I thought if I host them I can make sure the traditions important to me get observed.

Only problem is I have never even cooked a normal roast before, let alone a Christmas dinner .

We're going up to my parents but one year we had my sister, BIL and 6 and 8 year old niece and nephews. It was beofre me and dh had kids and it was one of the best Christmas we had ever had. Dh did all the cooking and my sister was just glad not to be doing it herself, there were no massive expectations.
I'd rather that than travelling tbh

sophierosie · 17/11/2007 15:10

Just found out that DH now has Christmas Day off so we are going to be selfish and have just the three of us!

Hurray!

Extended famiy will have to wait til Boxing Day to see DD!

Oh no, look what's happened now
I have become all randy

One of my younger sisters is coming. I haven't seen her for around a year and a half. She's coming with her dh and their 3 children, the youngest (who turns 1 on Christmas Eve) I've never met and she's just announced she's expecting number 4 (so she'll have 4 under 5!).

I'm excited for my kids as this will be their first Christmas with lots of other children that they'll remember!

ChipButty · 17/11/2007 16:05

Just the four of us this year. First year without my Dad . Mum is going to my sister's as she and Dad came here last year. Still looking forward to it though. I love Christmas and our DCs are 2 and 5, so it will be (almost) perfect.

LazyLinePainterJane · 17/11/2007 16:17

I shall have 5 adults and 3 toddlers in total for my first Christmas at home. Eek!

Tortington · 17/11/2007 16:21

ChippyMinton · 17/11/2007 16:30

9 or 10 adults and 4 children
I shall be hiding out in the kitchen in my poncey pinny, with the radio on and a bottle of bubbly on the go until the decibel levels subside

Plinkyplonk · 17/11/2007 16:43

It will be dd1, dd2 and myself. DH is working, I have no family and his step dad and sister are grumpy buggers who won't come over

Buda · 17/11/2007 16:45

Going to my parents in Dublin - we will stay there for week. Xmas day itself we will be 10 adults and 6 children. Dad and DH and I will do most prep on Xmas Eve and then on the day we 3 will muck in and cook. One sis will bring trifle, the other will bring something else and other sis is in charge of Celebrations and Trivial Pursuit.

It will be manic but hopefully good fun.

VictorianSqualor · 17/11/2007 16:55

Just me, the children and DP, lovely.
We are going to his mothers for 'xmas breaskfast' as there isnt really anyway we would all be able to go to theirs, and she has always done xmas dinner at hers for her dads parents, so wouldnt really be able to have them all here, but feel quite bad for her not being able to have her son for xmas (we've only been together for last xmas so far) so we have this year created a new tradition, and it's axmas breakfast.

dooley1 · 17/11/2007 16:57

plinkyplonk
