We were there for a similar amount of time too. It's not a pleasant day out. I'm very glad you don't need to drag the boys with you.

IdrisTheDragon · 18/11/2007 07:49

Definitely my mum, dad, sister and her DP. Possibly FIL, MIL, BIL and wife, SIL. Maybe DH's granny.

agalch · 18/11/2007 08:11

I usually have Dh and i and our 4 dc who are 16,12,3 and 1. My mum and dad. And my DB and his gf and their 6 dc who are 13,11,9,5,5 and 2.

I do all the work and i felt like a break this year so we are all going to our local Indian instead. Cheaper for me as we are all paying our own lol.

I will be doing a traditional turkey thing on New Years Day tho as it'll just be DH and i and the dc and my parents so much easier.

Columbia · 18/11/2007 08:13

Me, Ds1 and Ds2. (I hope that's it! I can't cook to save my life)

deenymcqueenygoreandguts · 18/11/2007 08:16

only one I'd rather not have around is dh

dorawannabe · 18/11/2007 08:28

Just me, hubby and dd. Have told everyone they're not welcome as I'm pregnant and tired and want a break this year. No-one's happy but tough, being selfish this year.

Nightynight · 18/11/2007 08:53

My children, I hope. All of them. I have a horrid feeling that ex h is going to try and sabotage Christmas by taking one or more of them.
We have never had a proper Christmas, he has messed it up every single year.

MuffinMclay · 18/11/2007 13:38

Just me, dh, and possibly ds (trying to decide whether to eat with him or wait until he is in bed). Thank goodness.

Big family thing on Boxing Day at our house for all dh's family.

Just trying to work out how I can stop my parents visiting over the festive period. I can't be bothered to run around looking after and feeding people for days on end.

nutcracker · 18/11/2007 13:40

My mum and older brother are coming on xmas day, and then on boxing day my mum, older bother, younger brother and his girlfriend are coming.

saltireflyingatHampden · 18/11/2007 13:49

No one! For the first time in years. My mum won't come with step dad because I didn't invite DB2. My MIl and Step PIL because it's too far to drive (8hours) for 2 days, and PIL and step MIL never bother anyway. my mum has said we can go up to them for Christmas, then go onto ILs for New year, but poor DH would spend all Christmas day and Boxing Day driving round half the Borders because his dad and mum would expect to see us as well

twelveyeargap · 19/11/2007 11:22

I got a bit overexcited reading "Feast" and invited, PIL, SIL & BIL plus 4 children, my mum and step dad, my dad, dad's brother plus wife and child, my mum's mum and her brother and there's the four of us. Ahem. And 7 of them are staying over so it's Christmas Eve lunch/ dinner and Boxing Day lunch for erm, lots of people.

NomDePlume · 19/11/2007 11:29

Me, DH, DS1 and 2, Mum and Dad, 2 sisters, boyfriends and sons!!

Quite enough to be going on with!!

Astrophe · 19/11/2007 12:30

NOBODY

But their excuse is they are in Australia...
We did invite some friends but they are going away to their family. I'm sure we will have a lovely relaxing and fun day with the DC, but it feels a bit un-Christmassy not to have a full house

Peachy · 19/11/2007 12:32

Wew're at mums and Dads as usual for christmas, but for the first time they're heading abck with us for a few days- yay! . As Dh isnt sure if he'll be allowed time of (their contract says no leave, but they allowed the new guys to take some last year and now the longer termers are applying and fuming), it will be nice to have company.

have got pork ordered for parents, and some nice garlicky lamb for when FIL and aprtner comes up afterwards

TellusMater · 19/11/2007 12:34

My dad and his partner the weekend before.

My mum and her partner on Christmas Day. Staying overnight.

Sister and neice on boxing day - plus mum and partner. Staying overnight.

Then in-laws. For an unspecified period
