It's only dd's second Christmas so not something I've really thought about before, but what was YOUR favourite present, for you child? Not DC's favourite in my case.

Dd's grandparent got her some reins with butterfly wings on her back. She cries when I put reins on her or try to keep hold of her hand but loves these ones because it's like dressing up! Winner!

Arts and crafts. Because I enjoy doing them helping my dd.

vickibee · 25/12/2020 19:26

A gaming headset and a huge bar of galaxy chocolate

OhioOhioOhio · 25/12/2020 19:28

Kapla

I'm loving watching how much my 7yo is getting... From a whoppee cushion. Reminds me they don't need all the flashing lights and gadgets.

Both kids have been stars all day. There is plenty of scope for them to turn into spoilt brats... They get mountains of stuff from family etc. But they don't. Even when DD1 got two identical Lego sets, she just smiled and said her sister could have one of them

My younger 3 (9,7, almost 4) have most enjoyed a hot water bottle in a stuffed toy from M&S (panda, lion and unicorn) and a marshmellow toasting kit which they did yesterday evening. The teen has loved cosy Christmas clothes, soft blanket and bath bombs and fairy lights for her room.

A jigsaw with 1000 pieces and one of those mats which mean you can roll it away until it gets finished.
Used to love jigsaws but haven't had time to do them since having the children. Hoping it'll be something my now 10 year old might enjoy doing with me.

A furry Thomas the tank engine onesie. DS3 is Thomas-mad so he loves it and it makes him extra-snuggly to cuddle.

StarsOnAMat · 25/12/2020 19:53

A retractable tape measure. He’s four, keeps nicking Grampa’s from his tool box when he visits and is delighted to have one of his own. Mad as a box of frogs.

My eldest loved his tape measure at the same age! 13 years on and he still loves messing around with one ShockGrin

My DS is 2.5 and I think his favourite is his train set that he got, either that or his aeroplane!

SimonJT · 25/12/2020 20:04

His new skateboard, it kept him entertained for so long at the park that I was able to lap it and do a 5k, it also knackered him out in the courtyard so he was asleep by 7pm!

Xmas Grin Xmas Grin
Love these!

@StarsOnAMat DD got a mini high vis vest this year because she keeps "OOOH"ing every time she sees a builder wearing one. She's extremely pleased with that one!

Dd11 her echo dot (in pink of course) dd4 her baby Annabelle and ds18 months loved the boxes 😂

SacreBleeeurgh · 25/12/2020 20:09

Grimm’s Rainbow - totally compulsive. Also a very nice soft toy Santa which I’ve currently nicked for the mantelpiece...

SacreBleeeurgh · 25/12/2020 20:09

(DD also loves a tape measure...)

yahyahs22 · 25/12/2020 20:11

My 8 month old got a swing and he was so happy in it!

OrangeGinLemonFanta · 25/12/2020 20:13

DD (6) got Dobble and is old enough now to actually play it properly with me, so that's fun 😀

Cyclingforcake · 25/12/2020 20:19

DD2 - tie between the play tent and the scooter helmet which she’s worn all day (scooter didn’t really get a look in!)
DS6 - Daddy’s toy drone and a Pokemon annual. Much wanted Switch not looked at. Oh well!

ShinyGreenElephant · 25/12/2020 20:29

DD11 - probably her new fitbit, shes always been very, very active but since isolation after isolation has cancelled all her dance and sports for months, she's gone very lazy and started watching lots of TV which she's never done. Today she's been springing round everywhere counting her steps, seems like her old self again.
DSD10 - bath bomb making set as she has just got in the bath voluntarily with her mushy creation! Usually its a terrible battle to get her to wash or even brush her hair so I'm so pleased.
DSS5 - all of his presents are gigantic, noisy, plastic shite which I am SO glad he wants to take it all back to his mums. The only one I like is the dinosaur onesie which he is super snuggly in.
DD2 - she has refused to open a single present as she was too excited all day and enjoying herself too much. So we will open them tomorrow when the step kids have gone and things are a bit calmer.
DH - I got him a dino onesie to match DSS and its giving me so much amusement. He is 6ft 2 and muscly and DSS is a tiny little skinny thing with big blonde curls so they just look adorable together ❤

Grits · 25/12/2020 20:34

We got DD (5) a lite brite and she was playing with it for hours!

Littlemissnutcracker · 25/12/2020 20:36

It's a cliche but my son played most of the day with three cardboard boxes and selloptape. I felt proud as he had lots to play with but he is a sweet little boy who doesn't need much.

bluechameleon · 25/12/2020 20:37

For DS1 (6) probably the little electronics kit - we built a door bell and a lie detector. I didnt get a chance to play with the wooden sushi set but I hope to tomorrow. I enjoyed building the Harry Potter Lego for DS2 (nearly 3). I also bought them a selection of beautiful Bauspiel blocks to share and it was lovely watching them playing with them together, putting them in the little snack boxes DH bought me.

chubbyhotchoc · 25/12/2020 20:41

Dd7 got this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nebulous-Stars-Nebulias-Creative-Sketchbook/dp/B07BFLWDFP/ref=mpssa1114?dchild=1&keywords=nebulous+stars&qid=1608928742&sr=8-14
I'm so impressed with how multi layered ( not sure if that's the right description) it is. Colouring in, drawing instructions, stencils, texturising pads, stickers... love it. I want it myself

2tired2bewitty · 25/12/2020 20:43

I got ds4 one of those remote control cars that says it will drive up walls. I was worried it was going to be a bit shit, but it’s the first time he’s actually articulated a preference for a particular gift so I thought I’d risk it. It actually works really well, does what it says on the box and has amused everyone.

Chocolate4me · 25/12/2020 20:46

Scratch and sniff fart book lol
