Hi there

I knwo we've got a pinned thread, but a few things have come up in your emails that I thought I'd better address, and I thought if I put this on the big thread people would miss it.

  1. the 6th October deadline refers only to your MN joining date. You have plenty of time to sign up - about 5 weeks left, until December 1st.

  2. As far as I am concerned, this is completely anonymous. I won't be telling the recipients who the donors are or vice versa - donors will receive addresses but not real names - packages to be sent to Ms M. Netter . And I won't be listing recipient or donor names anywhere on the board.

  3. If you are nominating yourself, PLEASE don't feel bad! (and please include your address! )

  4. If you are donating specific things, it is helpful to tell me what they are, but "toys for a 4-5 yo girl" works as well, so don't worry if you haven't sorted them out yet.

  5. I'll start matching people up in mid November, and I'll try and get you overseas types sorted out early.

Errrr.... I think that's it. If you've emailed me, you should have had a reply - if not please mail me again and shout at me!

[email protected]

Full details of the appeal are on the main thread which is pinned to the top of Active Convos.

Thanks all

Oh dear ? as I said DS had some larger toys (all pre loved) that he decided he didn?t want anymore. No idea how much the box actually weighs ? the courier service only delivers up to 30KG so that?s what I said it would weigh ? just to be safe.
I can easily lift the box (unlike my suitcase when going on hols with a 30KG limit) so I guess it?s much lighter than that.
With the exception of a supermarket voucher, some wrapping paper (forgot the cellotape doh!) and some choice coins for the kids I have spent nothing.

Wrap for adults, not for children - but if you have already wrapped and sent, DO NOT WORRY!

ValnBen, finally getting my foot out of my mouth to speak: sorry, my comment was thoughless and navelgazing in moment of self pity. I did not mean for you to feel bad about the size (granditude) of your present. I simply thought all presents should be new, I did not know there were pre-loved stuff too. I had this image in my head of half of mumsnet running down to John Lewis to buy a full size electric car, or a play kitchen corner!

I losely wrapped the little token thingy for mum (because I had run out cellot ape) and included some paper for the LO's, in case she wanted to quickly wrap it (providing she had tape handy, lol)

Debbiethemum · 04/12/2007 10:16

Mine is all pre-loved, apart from a very small something for the mum. It is on its way & I hope the mum in Cornwall is in today!!

OOOps. I got ahead of myself this year and when my son got some Bob the Builder stuff for his birthday a couple of weeks ago and told me he already had the same toys, I airily said we would wrap the two presents back up and send them to a little boy who didn't have as many toys as he did.

Only now my matchees don't include any toddler boys, and DS is chomping at the bit to wrap them up and send them off.

Can anyone use two BTB toys ASAP? I've a Scoop and a little Dizzy with playdough...

Squiffy - I have emailed you re Bob
