My dc are getting a big tub of LEGO. They are all old enough for it now and have an interest in construction toys.

As a child I dreamed of such LEGO set and I'm looking forward to play with it.

How about you ?

Not for a child but I've got my husband a baby Yoda toy.... It can be shared 😂

EndoplasmicReticulum · 04/12/2020 07:27

Yes Oodies for the teens. Ordered ages ago, arrived yesterday, they are so floofy and I want one.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 04/12/2020 07:30

I quite fancy the 'decorate your own' clock.
And quite jealous of the pile of books one DD has.

hopeishere · 04/12/2020 07:32

No but if I had of had a daughter the house would have been filled to the brim with Sylvanian Families.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 04/12/2020 07:36

I had a Nintendo 64 in my early 20s and lived Mario Kart and Gilden Eye.

I've just bought a Nintendo Switch as a family present - looking forward to challenging my DC at Mario Kart Grin

TheWayOfTheWorld · 04/12/2020 07:36

Loved not lived!

LadyCatStark · 04/12/2020 07:37

Yes Lego Central Perk 😂

binkyblinky · 04/12/2020 07:42

I want to get mine a little Goku from Mandalorian, and then I will steal it from them

CeeJay81 · 04/12/2020 07:43

Mine are getting rollerblades, my ds has the same size feet as me, so I'm hoping for a go myself. Loved it when I was younger, so looking forward to going for a whizz around lol.

niceupthedance · 04/12/2020 07:46

A galaxy light which id quite like in my bedroom!

BefuddledPerson · 04/12/2020 07:52

Always an element of this as we play lots of games and unless they ask for a specific one we obviously choose things we think look 'good' which is bound to include our bias a bit, same with DVDs, books I suppose. They seem happy enough I should add, whether because the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree or because they've been indoctrinated!

Wouldn't buy a maths-obsessed child a subscription to history monthly though, or music I liked but they didn't!

But same with Lego when they were younger, I'd have chosen a cheery camper van over Lego city police scene every time, unless they specifically asked.

movingonup20 · 04/12/2020 07:54

I've bought dp's dd some craft things that I get to mostly do as she has a learning disability, but she loves "helping" make things and will keep her from watching tv 24/7 when she visits

CottonHeadedNinnyMug · 04/12/2020 07:59

Yes! A maileg mouse!

Duggeehugs82 · 04/12/2020 08:02

I have brought a sylvanian families house and plan to buy all the accessories, which i was going to give my daughter, which im unable to due to her SN but will be giving it too her younger sister when she is older enough! Cannot wait been in garage 4 years. I always wanted it but never got it.

Pascha · 04/12/2020 08:08

Mine have beanbags coming. We've never owned such a thing before. I'm a bit jealous..

Pyjamaface · 04/12/2020 08:11

A cushion shaped like a burger. I briefly considered keeping it but DS would end up stealing it from me anyway

Aponcetasticchristmastoall · 04/12/2020 08:39

Definitely the Maileg stuff, my DD is getting the mouse and pea set and I keep “checking” that all the beautiful blankets are in the right order!

My older two get a lot of nice bits that I secretly love form places like Olivia Bonas, Zara etc...

I mostly think how lucky they are and how I’d have died and gone to heaven as a kid if I’d got the stuff they do on Christmas morning.

Thehollyandtheirony · 04/12/2020 08:53

Pretty much all of them. But I’m an overgrown toddler.

Lovemusic33 · 04/12/2020 09:06

I really want to buy my dd the playmobil scooby do van and the back to the future car, I would have loved these as a child (especially the back to the future car). Sadly dd is now 14 and doesn’t want these toys so I can’t buy them 😭

I did one buy the the Sylvanian family hotel because when I was a child only the rich kids had the Sylvanian family hotel so it was something I only got to play with when over friends houses. My DD’s never played with the bloody hotel or the figures and it was later sold.

Mrsfussypants1 · 04/12/2020 09:45

Lovemusic i hear you on the playmobil! I felt that way when i saw the new sets. Luckily we have a 4 1/2 yr old granddaughter so who knows in the future. We did buy her playmobil, but the pet hotel and the cattery, small animal and dog groomer to go with it (she's not in to scooby yet). I also bought a roll of fake grass to set it on. Im really looking forward to setting it up Christmas eve, ive even bought craft box strorage for all the little bits. I'll try to share nicely.

Pellewsmate · 04/12/2020 10:03

I always wanted a rocking horse, I had fond memories of one at the playschool I attended in the 70's. Once I had children I bought my father a set of plans for a rocking horse for a Christmas present, it took him 2 years to complete and it is beautiful. My eldest was so pleased on his 4th birthday, now at 17 he realises that the rocking horse is mine and that he and his brother can fight for it once I'm dead. I'm 46 and a size 18-20 and don't care what the neighbours think of me rocking back and forth in front of the window, it makes me so happy.
I would really like a substantial swing, but my father is ignoring all my hints.

midnightstar66 · 04/12/2020 10:06

My dd's are getting equestrian vaulting and trick riding experience days. Definitely would have (and still would) love this!

midnightstar66 · 04/12/2020 10:07

Yes Oodies for the teens. Ordered ages ago, arrived yesterday, they are so floofy and I want one.

I did get myself one of these too - the elf will be delivering them for us 😆

MumaD · 04/12/2020 10:07

Toy kitchen with lots of wooden food sets, I can't wait!!

SantasYumnuts · 04/12/2020 10:09
