I like the stockings to contain stuff that is fun but also not just "pointless tat" of that makes sense. It's harder this year when I don't fancy trawling the shops... So looking for online ideas

Past presents that have met my criteria have been things like Smiggle stationery, cool packs for injuries in fun shapes , crazy dice, but I am out of inspiration at the moment

1 boys age 10 and 2 girls age 6 and 12 Grin

One of my biggest hits over the years has been drawstring toiletry bags... Have come in very useful for camping trips, sleepovers, visiting grandparents etc.

Torches.

Batteries if they are getting electronic toys

Mine are getting Chopsticks this year.

quarentini · 27/11/2020 18:41

Socks
Bath bombs
Favourite candy
Torch
Underwear
Water bottles
Hot chocolate kit

Trudee · 27/11/2020 18:42

Ours always have a magic flannel that then gets used all year round.
My ds's are 10&12 and I've also got them a USB mini disco ball, air duster, face covering of fave characters, screen wipes, wireless charging stand for phone, manicure kit + obligatory sweets/choc

JiltedJohnsJulie · 27/11/2020 18:45

There has to be a face mask in there this year surely? Smile

Beamur · 27/11/2020 18:45

Power banks for the older ones?
Sharp and blunt do some fun pencils with different themes and messages on them
Eco friendly toiletries? Bamboo toothbrushes, shampoo bars?
Cable critters

teaorwine · 27/11/2020 18:47

Head torch, stationary , tube of pringles, can of soft drink as not usually allowed these

DuckonaBike · 27/11/2020 18:51

Bath bombs
Stickers (for the 6 year old)
Fluffy socks
CDs
Torches
Nice face masks
Swiss Army knife
Chocolate
Gloves
Small game / pack of cards
Nice pens, pencils, post its (Paperchase?)
A tree decoration each (we do this every year, something personal to everyone if possible, and you end up with lots of lovely decorations that all have a story, to bring out each year.)

We try to get things that are either useful or consumable,to avoid just getting more tat.

Takethewinefromtheswine · 27/11/2020 18:52

Much of teenage dd's could not be considered 'fun' but she will be getting some magnet letters in the style of random note lettering, a mini Pacman game and a set of pencils that say "Nolite te bastardes carborundorum".

GlomOfNit · 27/11/2020 18:52

Reusable straws - DS1 (12) got a bamboo one last year and a nice rainbow coloured stainless steel one this year.

I usually put in a toothbrush each, but they might be a 'fun' one. Socks and pants obviously! He has a little multitool keyring I got in a National Trust shop. Actually, I want to keep that one for me... Packet of tissues (Boots do multipacks of handbag tissues with dinosaur packaging!). Pens that DS1 likes using at school. He's also got a desk tidy for his new desk, and a new pencil case that expands and has lots of zippered pockets. Smile

Definitely a face mask - I'll make him one.

Takethewinefromtheswine · 27/11/2020 18:52

Hotcuppatea · 27/11/2020 18:54

Mine get a Costa voucher so they can go and get themselves some of those sugary drinks that I'm always refusing when they go in there with me.

Chilver · 27/11/2020 18:57

NeverTwerkNaked · 27/11/2020 19:08

Duct tape is also brilliant idea!

Love some of these, thank you
I think "fun but useful or consumable" is my criteria exactly @duckonabike

Eek, I can't quite remember. Might have been Aldi/ Lidl from their middle wtf aisle?

MrsMigginsMate · 27/11/2020 19:22

I'm sure you all mean well but if I found basic stuff like tissues and hand sanitizer in my stocking as a child or teen I would be pretty miserable!

Fun and useful from past stockings I've done:

Pretty hair slides, Alice bands and bows
Character themed watches
Bookmark with a bendy torch on top for an avid reader
Scarves/hats/gloves
Phone case
Glitter pens, colouring pens etc
Post it notes in funky shapes
Magnetic notepad
Pack of balloons for younger kids (they always pop eventually so no clutter!)

Cordillera · 27/11/2020 19:26

Seeds packaged as a match box
Insect confectionary

Howmanysleepsnow · 27/11/2020 19:42

Novelty usb stick
Fidget spinner pen
Novelty power banks
Torch key rings
Bath bombs/ bath flowers/ gelli baff
Gloves (character for the younger ones)
Exercise dice

GhostTypeEevee · 27/11/2020 19:52

Where do people buy phone cases for their teenagers please?

MessAllOver · 27/11/2020 19:53

Almost 3 year old is getting -

  • Fluffy onesie.
  • Slippers
  • Soap
  • Magic facecloth
  • Chocolate coins
  • Lindt mini reindeers
  • Lights for the bottom of the bath
  • Character dominoes
  • A new wooden Thomas train
  • A book.
  • One of those balloon cover things that stops a balloon from popping in kid's faces when it's being batted around.

I think that's plenty.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 27/11/2020 19:57

One of the best stocking fillers we had when the DS were much younger was plaque disclosing tablets.

EnglishRose1320 · 27/11/2020 19:58

Eco friendly toothpaste tablets
Marmite shower gel and deodorant
Wallet
Mini cans of drink
Power bank
Hand warmers
Shampoo and conditioner blocks- mini tester ones
Bamboo socks

SBAM · 27/11/2020 20:39

My 3yo is getting a magic flannel, new water bottle, bath crayons and some new hairslides since she loses hers all the time. And probably a little chocolate reindeer too.

Sometimesonly · 27/11/2020 20:42
