Help! Teenage DD. No presents

So, my lovely girl is just 15. My shopping is pretty much done apart from her. I have no presents whatsoever. She’s never asked for anything, ever. She’s not into brands. She has a phone, a laptop, kindle, new camera for birthday. She doesn’t really need any new clothes. She rarely wears jewellery. She does a lot of dance but we’ve either had to buy equipment as it was needed or she has regulation uniform. I am so clueless it’s frightening. Please hit me with your DD lists and ideas. Desperately seeking something to get her (I also have to get both sets of grandparents).

This is a great thread. Just got DD a cactus growing set and mini gold watering can from urban outfitters.

SoupDragon · 21/11/2020 16:26

I bought DD this marshmallow toasting kit last year.

This thread is great! So relieved. I like the bubble tea idea- can anyone recommend a subscription website? Or one off set?

Justyou · 21/11/2020 16:33

Where is best to get the cuddle/reading cushions from?

11MrsLuther · 21/11/2020 16:36

Following for my D14! I've got her a new phone case from skinny dip and a fake oodie. Im getting her a hairdryer from my mum. No other ideas! Dd17 is getting doc martin boots so very little else even though I managed to get 30% off.

Molly357 · 21/11/2020 16:38

Where can you get fake oodie?

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 21/11/2020 16:40

If she's always cold what about a funky hot water bottle, Turtle Dove wrist warmers, heated blanket.

If she has curly hair and is prone to bed head then a satin lined sleep beanie could be a good idea. I also have a silk pillowcase but love my beanie so much

Other ideas:
Ice cream maker (Lakeland do a great one that is also nice and compact so doesn’t take up too much freezer space)
Cashmere bed socks (you mentioned she’s often cold)
Elizabeth Scarlett velvet hot water bottle (as above)
Retro style create your own reel viewer
A subscription box, there are some nice options here. There are also some dance subscriptions boxes available, depending on what sort of dance she does
Soda stream
Something for her bedroom- bean bag, mirror or similar

This is the most helpful thread I’ve ever been on on Mumsnet!

Thank you for all the wonderful ideas!

If she’s into Japanese stuff Tofu Cute do Christmas surprise sacks with a selection of Japanese sweets, drinks, plushies and accessories.
I’ve ordered a big one for my DD 15 and will put it in her stocking together with some bubble tea and Japanese kit-kats.

BonnesVacances · 21/11/2020 17:14

DD is pretty similar. Wants nothing and doesn't spend her money. We've bought her the Tefal Cake Factory as she loves watching GBBO, enjoys eating cake, but is pretty hopeless at baking.Grin It is a glorified oven so it may be surplus to requirements in your kitchen, but it gives reliable results and has good reviews.

The cheapest place currently is £120 direct from Tefal using a 25% discount.

Cornishmumofone · 21/11/2020 17:17

If she's really interested in dance, have you considered offering her a week at a dancing summer school? (Assuming that such things might happen in summer 2021). Depending on where you choose it'll cost £150-500, so it might be more than you want to spend. As a dance obsessed teenager, I saved all year to attend from when I was 13 to 17.

Do you tuck all your hair into it? My dd has curly hair so would be good for that but mine is very fine with extensions so wondered if it would keep my hair in place just sitting over the top so less need for straighteners in the morning!

RJnomore1 · 21/11/2020 17:57

@Standrewsschool we should all have an oldie for Xmas 😂

NobleElephantheThird · 21/11/2020 18:11

Apple Watch? My Dd loves hers. Really nice bedding. Hairdryer. Bath bombs. Make your own organic soap kit from etsy. Superdry coat? Nice suitcase to travel in

allhappeningatonce · 21/11/2020 18:42

Definitely anything slightly luxury, she probably goes to primark with her friends (or she may have done pre covid)
Some ideas:
Soap & glory & lush for bath things
Slightly fancier than normal face masks
Urban decay eyeshadow palette
Benefit makeup
Chillys bottle
A lot of teenage girls like stuff by pink by Victoria secrets (probably only if she likes the colour pink though) sportswear is really in too atm, so sweatshirts & hoodies you'd see in jd sports. Think 90s vibe
Hollister is still cool & does some lovely scarfs and hats
Name necklaces are popular enough too, probably more an idea for others if u said she doesn't like jewellery. I think gold is more popular than silver with that age group but gold plated is affordable.
Some 'good' earrings, classic ones to keep
Starbucks voucher for stocking is a great idea, I got one as a present from a pupil last year & loved it
Hair tools though I'd imagine she'd ask for those!
Some nice skincare, pixl is popular, I actually got a Lancôme skincare set one xmas & thought it might be a bit old but found it fab
If arty, fancy pens or fineliners
A nice handbag
A watch either Fitbit type or normal
Purses, bags, accessories, boots from river island
So hard to buy experiences this Christmas!!
Hope these help someone!

BangingOn · 21/11/2020 18:43

@Justyou yes I tuck all of my hair in. I’ve had a Brazilian blow dry recently so my hair is now straight and fine, I barely have to brush it in the morning after sleeping with this on let alone straighten it.

ritzbiscuits · 21/11/2020 18:58

@BangingOn What kind of dance is she into? Can help re: dance things especially if she likes ballet?

11MrsLuther · 21/11/2020 19:04

I've ordered one recommended on here, brand is Sienna and its on amazon. Will report when it arrives.
