please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

@slithytoveisascientist
Next do extra deep fitted sheets- good quality and reasonably priced!

oatmilkisntsobad · 21/11/2020 15:45

@CompleteBarstool

Has anyone seen any nice (but cheap, naturally) way of giving money along with a small token gift.

Before I've just popped £20 in a money gift card and wrapped it with a bar of chocolate or small tube of jelly beans but I'm wondering if there's a more interesting or original way of doing it

(this is for teenagers)

One year I wrapped money in cling film and put it inside a small pot of play doh and relabelled it play for your dough. They loved it!
SleighbellsAndHollyberries · 21/11/2020 15:47

Oops, forgot to tag. That was for @CompleteBarstool !

slithytoveisascientist · 21/11/2020 15:48

@spub thanks will go have a look

CoffeeAndEnnui · 21/11/2020 15:49

@TheSilentStars, It might be worth a good wander around Etsy to find really striking wrapping paper. I like the Etsy seller MiMi Print Co. for gift wrap and this brilliant pigeon paper by Pen and Gwyn at the moment but there's a tonne on there and many others will ship too.

Raindancer411 · 21/11/2020 15:55

@MissRainbowBrite That's good. I paid more and has less goodies with it

Squ1ggle · 21/11/2020 15:58

@Raindancer411 thanks, I just missed that as needed to check with DH that we were definitely getting them and they went back up before i could buy them. Rookie mistake Sad

Google tissue box money rolls. Obviously they work better in the US where they have $1 bills so they can make a long roll of notes, but for £20 you can have a roll of 4x £5 notes so still pretty effective.

Do Zara ever do deals or black Friday offers? I have a basket full of stuff and don't know whether to buy or wait..

mummyof2boys30 · 21/11/2020 16:20

Lovemusic33 · 21/11/2020 16:23

Just been to lidl to do my food shop and they had a lot of toys in the middle isle including playmobil, Lego, a doll, a robot and lots of wooden toys. They also had a scaletrix set for £69.99, I think someone on here was looking for one? Checked online when I got home and the same set is £94 on Amazon.

IggyAce · 21/11/2020 16:27

Wiltshire chilli farm here have 20% off with code Blackfriday They do amazing hot/chilli sauces if anyone is a fan. Are you brave enough to try the God Slayer? My dh requested this for Christmas.

Mumto3thatsme · 21/11/2020 16:29

@tinyradish

Would anyone like a 25% off Matalan code? Needs to be used by Sunday.
Yes please if you have
HoHoHolyMackerel · 21/11/2020 16:32

Regarding the radio times offer, what do I do to cancel, do I email when the first one comes and say I don't want it after the sixth one comes?

BeaLola · 21/11/2020 16:38

Ospreylondon.com have some leather purses and handbags reduced in Black Friday online

Anydreamwilldo12 · 21/11/2020 16:43

@weebarra thanks for the Lighthouse clothing recommendation. I bought myself a bargain down jacket and a couple of xmas gifts in the sale. 11% cashback from quidco too.

Anydreamwilldo12 · 21/11/2020 16:45

Can anyone recommend a nice bargain dressing gown for a young man please. Just had an unexpected request.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 21/11/2020 16:50

Thanks @Vickles20 I've ordered a lovely pair from that Etsy shop Smile

thelegohooverer · 21/11/2020 16:52

For RoI bargain hunters list of Black Friday deals

catanddogmake6 · 21/11/2020 16:53

@CompleteBarstool probably not much use for this time but I buy wallets in the sales. You can sometimes be lucky and pick them up for not much more than the money gift cards. Even if not used as a primary wallet they can be used for days out when they don’t want to take the proper one etc.

purplepandas · 21/11/2020 16:58

@mummyof2boys30, sadly that has always happened to me if I have returned any part of my order. The cashback has not validated.

Sunshineskies · 21/11/2020 17:00

@Rubyroo73 yes Zara have definitely done Black Friday deals for the past few years. Usually on a specific department so, say, 25% off ladies wear iirc.

Londoncatshed · 21/11/2020 17:03

Has anyone spotted any codes are deals from Jo Malone? I’ve not spotted anything but may have missed something? Thank you in advance and thank you for all the great help everyone.

CompleteBarstool · 21/11/2020 17:03

Thank you for the ideas for ways of giving money.
