Thread 20 - the one with the reminder to put the bargain info *in bold*

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Thanks TheCrow. It does have to be a Squishmallow unfortunately. He collects them with his best friend. We saw a doberman one in Tesco and he came home and googled for the (seemingly unavailable - thanks google) Shiba which is his favourite dog. Hmmm

margaritasbythesea · 19/11/2020 06:49

I have a one-off code for 25/ at Missoma if anyone wants it, PM me.

teaorwine · 19/11/2020 06:57

@ivebeengood, the Irish times have catagorised a list of 400 Irish companies who are online - sorry can’t do clicky link.

Sheridan’s cheese shops are on that list and do gorgeous hampers, Frank hederman for smoked salmon etc.

Bezzi · 19/11/2020 06:58

@margaritasbythesea is this not it here at amazon ?

Bezzi · 19/11/2020 07:00

@margaritasbythesea oh no it isn't sorry 😩

Rosie2000 · 19/11/2020 07:02

I got the jelly beans for £7, strange how everyone gets a different price Grin

unkindnessofravens · 19/11/2020 07:04

I had the same issue with Argos yesterday evening. Kept trying and did eventually manage to get beyond the red screen of death. Hoping my order arrives now!

Iggi999 · 19/11/2020 07:04

I normally come on these threads by the start of October, so behind this year Blush
Hi happy bargain hunters Smile No hampers for me this year! Grin

ZIGGY911 · 19/11/2020 07:06

@GoblinDaughter

I haven’t caught up on the post yet (on page 31) but is it aldi carrot day? Our local store opens at 8am and I could actually be there for opening if DH did the school run, then there’s another one 5 minutes away I could go straight to if no luck in that one. I’ve evaded it all in previous years DD is now 4 and really quite keen this year.
They have been delayed in stores until after lockdown finishes, I think Scotland stores are getting today.
whoknows1230 · 19/11/2020 07:07
@whoknows1230 I ordered on the 13th and arrived today.
Thank you!

margaritasbythesea · 19/11/2020 07:08

Thanks for trying Bezzi (and to The Crow, who I forgot to actually thank before). It actually is on amazon for about £35 plus postage, but as they're normally £4 I am not paying it!

whoknows1230 · 19/11/2020 07:12

Thank you @Tailrunner and @slithytoveisascientist. I think I’ll give it a go and keep my fingers crossed!

Daisy829 · 19/11/2020 07:25

@GoblinDaughter I believe Aldi carrot day is 6 dec instore.

WisestIsShe · 19/11/2020 07:33

On the front of the catalogue it says in store dates vary.

IveBeenGood · 19/11/2020 07:39

@uniqlo and @BalaamsAss thanks for your suggestions.

The chocolate shop looks lovely, but I don’t think it’s quite for them. I think I’d like to get a more savoury hamper with things they may not necessarily buy themselves. If I wasn’t intolerant to dairy I’d buy it for myself!

I really like the look of Avoca but they don’t deliver more than 10KM from a few of their stores - my in-laws are in Donegal, not far from Muff.

I’ll do some more googling to see if there’s anyone closer to them who can provide a gourmet hamper type thing. Thanks again for your help.

thaegumathteth · 19/11/2020 07:40

Thanks for the jelly bean suggestion

BalaamsAss · 19/11/2020 07:44

@IveBeenGood that’s really weird about Avoca - they definitely do (normally) deliver further afield - they even ship internationally! I live more than 10km from my closest store (I’m up north and we only have 1 store in Belfast), I used to live in Scotland and in the US and have had deliveries to all my homes over the years.

BalaamsAss · 19/11/2020 07:45

Maybe it’s just a limit on hampers actually because of the fresh food - I’ve never ordered a hamper before.

EweSurname · 19/11/2020 07:48

I missed out on the prime deal of the set of hand creams but found this in boots which I think are more bargainacious (although they aren’t Christmas themed like the amazon one). They’re sold out online but presumably still available in store. I’m giving them to the school office staff so they can take what they want from the set

BalaamsAss · 19/11/2020 07:48

@IveBeenGood I think it’s just the regular food deliveries from the food markets which are restricted to 10km from stores. The online shop, which includes the hampers, ships internationally.

Serg · 19/11/2020 07:58

I don’t suppose anyone has a code for The White Company, they sent me one in the post but I think I put the leaflet out in the recycling. Typical!

weebarra · 19/11/2020 08:01

@IveBeenGood - Avoca is one of my favourite brands, I'm in Scotland and we do get delivery. One day I'm going to Ireland to visit an actual shop!
50% off Land's End sleep and loungewear today - I got fab quality fleece bottoms for my DSs.

purplepandas · 19/11/2020 08:03

Anyone seen a bargain on a black sodastream? Seems the genesis is £49.99 in John Lewis but I can't find a code. Would need to go over £50 for free delivery. Any other bargains or codes for JL at all please?

recklessgran · 19/11/2020 08:04

The best from this mornings inbox offerings;
£10 off a £30 spend at Red Letter Days with code XMAS30
25% off at Molton Brown with code BF25'
30% off everything at All Saints

mummabear74 · 19/11/2020 08:15

@kingat I had this problem too. I added them both to my basket but discount didn't apply. The next time I looked in my basket the discount was on there. I was on my phone each time.
