Thread 20 - the one with the reminder to put the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 15/11/2020 21:49

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

radio times offer
If you go to the radio times website the £1 deal is there and then takes you to the substitutions page.

For those of you that have done this before, is it easy to cancel the direct debit? I've been stung before with magazine subscriptions which have been a nightmare to cancel!!

AlgonquinBay · 18/11/2020 19:31

Ordered the Hotel Chocolat gift set - very happy, thanks for the tip Grin

TheLastStarfighter · 18/11/2020 19:35

Thanks @HawkinsLab for the HotelChocolat tip. That was exactly what I needed. 12% cashback with TopCashback too.

spidermomma · 18/11/2020 19:38

@noodledoodler you literally just go to order like normal. Make sure your order is over £15 and then it says as you check out add discount code then add "UK15" an that's it. You have pay delivery though!

does it work? Xx

22Giraffes · 18/11/2020 19:39

@spidermomma my uber eats account says I'm not eligible for the promotion Sad

oatmilkisntsobad · 18/11/2020 19:39

Just been sent this from Celtic & Co but won't use it. Hope it helps someone

Got the hotel Chocolat deal - planning on splitting it.

My DS has just done a beautiful Xmas list with a Switch on it!! I was not expecting this. It's above budget really. Don't know what to do, get it & make his dreams come true but go £100 ish over budget. Or explain it'll have to wait until his birthday as he already asked for Harry potter Lego (which I've bought, it was all he could go on about until this week). Sigh. I feel stuck.

DeanImpala67 · 18/11/2020 19:50

Thanks for the Hotel Chocolat codes, a nice family treat is heading our way now. Smile

spidermomma · 18/11/2020 20:09

@22Giraffes oh noooo !! Wonder why. I'm sure I have a £10 one somewhere but it actually has my name on it or else I'd post ! Xx

livingthegoodlife · 18/11/2020 20:14

@spidermomma it's a hamper for £55 with £20 off. Mixture of H box, lollies, hollow shapes etc.

whoknows1230 · 18/11/2020 20:20
@whoknows1230 - I gave up in the end, it’s on the list for an extra in the future for DP but it’s not strictly needed in this year’s pile Grin
DD is adamant. I may try push her in another direction!

BeaLola · 18/11/2020 20:22

noodledoodler thank you - wow I am liking this crafting route Grin

22Giraffes · 18/11/2020 20:23

@spidermomma no worries, I didn't particularly want to order anything but I can't say no to free food! 😂

poppyrock · 18/11/2020 20:26

Can't remember who was asking but the third gen Echo Dot is down to £18.99 (from £40) on Amazon, and the 4th gen to £28.99 (from £50).

beadyboo · 18/11/2020 20:29

Why oh why can’t I get the Hotel Chocolat deal to work? MERRY20 says “Your shopping bag doesn't meet the conditions for this voucher code”
I can get free delivery and £10 off but I really want the extra £10 off (for the gift that currently has no recipient!!!)
Help!

KiposWonderbeasts · 18/11/2020 20:30

@Jedstre - the main issues:
Are there many obstacles to navigate? They aren’t much cop at that.
Is there plenty of clear space for the docking station?

Robovacs are great for a minimalist, open plan life. Sadly ineffectual in a crowded 1930s semi.

spidermomma · 18/11/2020 20:31

@22Giraffes oh same!! I ordered £15 worth of cake an ate it because it was free haha ! My friend got a Chinese with it to! Can't believe it didn't work! So annoyed for you ! Xx

I added MERRY20 and then FREEDEL30 and it took it to £35. Didn’t need the other code. (Or the chocolate but that’s by the by Grin)
deeplybaffled · 18/11/2020 20:44

Thank you for the Hotel Chocolat tip, and also for the D’Aulaire books recommendations.
If it hadn’t been for these threads, I’d never have heard of the Book Depositary either, so I’m really grateful to everyone who has helped me make my money go a lot furtherGrin

CoffeeAndEnnui · 18/11/2020 20:45

@PinkJam, I was definitely not impressed. I can't entirely boycott because I need (want) to buy more of their musical house tin biscuits at some point but now I shall be muttering darkly while doing soWink

dramalamma · 18/11/2020 20:51

Not seen it mentioned (apologies if it has) Amazon has lots of children's books on 2 books for £7 - unfortunately when you search "2 for £7" not everything that comes up is part of the offer but they have quite a few dog man books (DS2s current obsession!) and a few Julia donaldsons too. Is a bargain for the dog Man books which are £6.97 on their own!

WeAreTheWeirdosMister · 18/11/2020 21:05

@beadyboo do you have the Merry Christmas Everyone hamper instead of the Merry Christmas Everyone collection?
It needs to be the latter;www.hotelchocolat.com/uk/358092.html

TheCrow · 18/11/2020 21:07

Was going to get DP an echo dot as he loves mine that I got recently for my birthday but now I'm wondering if I should get it at £18.99 or if it'll go down even further on black Friday!
