Thread 20 - the one with the reminder to put the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 15/11/2020 21:49

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

I also got knocked back for the Radio Times!!

Fuckingfuckssake · 18/11/2020 18:12

Okay, so I've just found out a friend and her husband have to self isolate over Christmas due to a planned operation at New Year, so no family at all, they are an older couple and he has Alzheimer's, I'd like to put together a little hamper of goodies and activities but I don't have a lot of money to throw at it, I'm going to put a cinnamon bun kit in but would love any other suggestions.

Jedstre · 18/11/2020 18:13

Can I have your recommendations for robotic vacuum cleaners please. I’m hoping to pick one up in Black Friday sales but want to research them beforehand.

thaegumathteth · 18/11/2020 18:16

@BalaamsAss I've stolen your clock idea - dh is wfh and has calls with people from all over so this will be handy!

lolarabbit · 18/11/2020 18:20

Thanks for your replies re M&S orders. According to my Royal Mail tracking the parcel went to Yorkshire (I don't live anywhere near there) and then disappeared! I don't think I'm going to bother reordering as they still haven't responded to my email. Wouldn't mind if they would just be honest about whatever happened.

NoWordForFluffy · 18/11/2020 18:25

@Fuckingfuckssake, do they like word searches, crosswords, jigsaws etc?

Maybe tea, cake / biscuits, chocolate? Do you know if they have favourites foods?

BalaamsAss · 18/11/2020 18:33

Thanks for the suggestions for time zone clocks. Much appreciated. It definitely needs to be a wooden one - our house is period and a high gloss/modern one would look weird. I will investigate all suggestions.

@thaegumathteth that’s exactly why I’m wanting it for DH - he spends his life in meetings with people from Africa to America, and as of yesterday, is now officially WFH long term! Yay!

MsMiaWallace · 18/11/2020 18:36

Anyone know where to get a cheaper baby yoda??

littlestpogo · 18/11/2020 18:40

Another thank you for the hotel chocolat code - will be splitting mine for gifts ( and good to have in for any unexpectedly needed gifts!)

MydeamonsanOstrich · 18/11/2020 18:45

Name changed but been here since the start (and will be to the bitter end no doubt!)

My inner 🐑 needs a dehumidifier; but I have a question... we all sleep with the bedroom doors closed, or pulled too. The kids disturb each other (and us) otherwise. We also have bloc blinds that black out the light brilliantly but, since we got them a year ago, have increased the condensation on the windows in the morning... all bedroom windows are completely covered in moisture.

I assume we'll still have the wet windows in the morning with closed bedroom doors overnight and bloc blinds creating a microclimate in the window area but... would the dehumidifier clear the moisture if we then keep all the doors open all day? Or would I still have to use the Karcher to vac the windows?

littlestpogo · 18/11/2020 18:49

@MydeamonsanOstrich - I don’t run my dehumidifier at night and it clears my condensation in the morning through the house so I’d imagine it would yours too

Grytviken · 18/11/2020 18:49

@LittleMissA

Has anyone got one of the Costco oversized hoodies out the box? I've just seen above it says age 3-10yrs old, I've bought two for my almost 11 yr old DD and 12 yr old niece and now I'm worried they wont be big enough!
@LittleMissA I bought one of these for my 6 year old and it was huge! Definitely be fine for an average sized 10-13 year old I would think.
noodledoodler · 18/11/2020 18:52

@BeaLola you can get different finishes, gloss, high gloss, matte, even sparkly, I usually buy it in B & Q to fix handprints onto Christmas baubles but have used it on air dry clay too

spidermomma · 18/11/2020 18:52

If you spend £15 on Uber eats you get £15 free so a free meal. Code is UK15 x

pasinphoebe · 18/11/2020 18:53

@Jedstre we have a Eufy from
Previous amazon deals. Sorry I can’t remember which one - prob the cheapest!! We have two kids and two cats and we are happy with it, picks up plenty we just move him between upstairs and downstairs. Seems well made. I think Eufy are considered an ok brand. Makes noise obviously but not horrendously loud.

Brand name toys coming eg Lego, barbie coming up in Lidl (there brochure is on website) if anyone needs those

livingthegoodlife · 18/11/2020 18:54

@jedstre we have a Eufy one. Best thing ever. I got free rollers and money off via a referral link. It's v good!

MydeamonsanOstrich · 18/11/2020 18:56
@MydeamonsanOstrich - I don’t run my dehumidifier at night and it clears my condensation in the morning through the house so I’d imagine it would yours too
Thank you. I'm sold!

louise4745 · 18/11/2020 18:56

Hi I've missed all the Argos codes.

I don't suppose anyone has one for a £100+ order?

I don't usually use vouchers to be honest but thus is my 5th Argos Order 🙈

louise4745 · 18/11/2020 18:57

Thanks

noodledoodler · 18/11/2020 18:57

Godiva chocolates, isn't that the scottish company who were left high and dry by the now infamous hamper company? Used their good reputation and a lot of their stock which the poor company never got paid for to do freebies to encourage people to pre book?

noodledoodler · 18/11/2020 19:02

@spidermomma where can I order the ubereats voucher to use that code for the offer please?

JuiceyBetty · 18/11/2020 19:03
