Thread 20 - the one with the reminder to put the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 15/11/2020 21:49

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

@theonlyoneIknow There's one on OnBuy Star Wars Advent Calendar

Actually, there's others on there too but they are crazy prices

deeplybaffled · 18/11/2020 09:43

Thank you everyone for all the mythology recommendations- I want some of them for me nowGrin

SlipASomethingUnderThe · 18/11/2020 09:45

@DoomPoodle B&M do men's fluffy pj's for £8. I got some for my son a few weeks ago and he loves them.

whoknows1230 · 18/11/2020 09:45

@Martinisarebetterdirty thank you, that does make me feel a bit better. Rubbish for you though. Did you get one from Amazon UK in the end?

Hunnybadger1 · 18/11/2020 09:52

Does anyone have any guidance on the best price for / place to buy an Our Generation doll and accessories?

Thank you for your reply, it was the Lego one I was searching for but that one might be a back up :) Thanks!

Ruralretreating · 18/11/2020 09:53

Thank you @AnnPerkins, that’s hard to buy for best friend sorted!

Ruralretreating · 18/11/2020 09:54

@pigeonorstatue I have a 5 year old DS. Lego 4+ sets and the Playmobil sets in a carry case are good options.

PinkJam · 18/11/2020 10:03

Very random...

But has anyone got a 2020 Smyths toys catalogue that they don’t need?

If so, would you be happy to post it to me if I PayPal you over the cost?

Mammyofonlyone · 18/11/2020 10:16

@whitetilesmurf how do I get the referral code for the baubles? Thank you!

buckeejit · 18/11/2020 10:20

@deeplybaffled I'm a lover of weird instruments for children. My suggestions would be a cabasa, wooden claves or a kalimba, (thumb piano).

Some bongos, a rain stick or a thunder maker are good if you can find them.

Depending how much you value the relationship with the mother, John Lewis does a great accordion & hand bells are fab.

PinkDaydreams · 18/11/2020 10:29

Thank you for help regarding a river island code. Unfortunately I couldn't get anything to work, never mind

snowmanshoes · 18/11/2020 10:36

Boots Black Friday offers have gone live on their website - some great deals on Harry Potter beauty sets £20 instead of £50 (no idea if any good as don’t buy them but I know a lot of posters seem to be interested!)
Also soap and glory, luz earle, jack wills, joules sets with over night bags at good prices and a few 50% offers on perfume and aftershave

Daisy829 · 18/11/2020 10:42

Unexpected day off so wrapping the kids pressies just incase schools close or they end up off at any point. Very organised this year thanks to this thread. Need to stay strong and not buy anymore! Starting to get excited.

Squ1ggle · 18/11/2020 10:49

@Carrie76 Paperblanks do gorgeous diaries. they would be a beautiful gift

Martinisarebetterdirty · 18/11/2020 10:51

@whoknows1230 - I gave up in the end, it’s on the list for an extra in the future for DP but it’s not strictly needed in this year’s pile Grin

greyinganddecaying · 18/11/2020 10:53

Kicking myself that I missed the Asda deal in the Nintendo switch - anyone know where the next best deal for these is please?

IggyAce · 18/11/2020 10:56

@Daisy829 I think I’m done but need to get everything out to check and start wrapping, however that’s a no go as both kids are home isolating as both were in close contact with a positive case. So good called to get it all sorted.

WeAreTheWeirdosMister · 18/11/2020 11:05

New Look have 30% off boots - bought a pair to bulk up DD's under the tree offering as all the things she wants are expensive and small!

I think TREAT5 gets you £5 off over a certain amount too.

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 18/11/2020 11:09

In amazons early Black Friday event, there seems to be up to 30% off certain wax lyrical candles and diffusers. Not as much of a great bargain as the other candles we got but worth a look

FireflyGirl · 18/11/2020 11:09

@PinkJam I am happy to post mine to you, but it has two pages missing - DS wanted to send pictures of what he wants to Santa!

When I get out from under a feeding baby, I will let you know what pages they are.

FireflyGirl · 18/11/2020 11:12

These are the pages that have been ripped out:

Carrie76 · 18/11/2020 11:15

@pinkjam I’m also happy to post a catalogue to you but it’s the Irish one, not sure if they’re all the same toys with just the prices in a different currency?

PinkJam · 18/11/2020 11:16

@FireflyGirl oh thank you so much Smile the missing pages are fine. Can I PM you to sort payment? Thanks again, I really appreciate it.
