Thread 20 - the one with the reminder to put the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 15/11/2020 21:49

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

I would love some tips on how to get reduced duplo sets. They are expensive, I dont think there were discounts on prime day, so not sure about BF. They are ome of the best toys ever, but there aren't many bricks in the box:(

livinginhope87 · 18/11/2020 08:02

Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced shaving stand and dish please? Thank you.

Ordered some more unusual board games from Zatu Games last night. Machi Koro, King of Tokyo and Sushi Go. I found a lot of the prices were a good few pounds cheaper than Amazon, definitely worth a look if you want board games that are a bit different from the usual in Argos, supermarkets etc.

Glad the Fossil info was useful @myhobbyisouting!

PinkDaydreams · 18/11/2020 08:13

Thank you @Kerrierr but I've only got one thing to buy for £30.
Has anyone else seen any river island codes please?

@Theonlyoneiknow I got mine from EBay last week. Originally I ordered from jdwilliams but they cancelled it. Someone in other forum said that Tesco's had got a new delivery of them.

I was totally done for everyone in October but these Playmobil sets are AMAZING! Oh man I'm so suggestible 🤦🏻‍♀️

Rosie2000 · 18/11/2020 08:27

Are there any free delivery codes about for Debenhams?

Theonlyoneiknow · 18/11/2020 08:31

Thank you XmasLockdown I will have a look! Didn't think they will sell out silly me!

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 18/11/2020 08:35

@Amazonmulu, haha sorry! Playmobil is such a big hit in this house and has been since my 17 year old was small.
I've bought the Egyptian bundle for my five year olds six birthday (a few days after Christmas) and the Scooby Doo mansion with Mystery Machine for Christmas. Plus the Playmobil advent calendar for him and his big sister!

JoanneCofton · 18/11/2020 08:40

@PinkDaydreams if you have a blue light card they have 15% off on the app

JoanneCofton · 18/11/2020 08:41

Or on the website, don’t need the blue light app to get the discount. Just type river island into the search box and it’ll come up.

SpamIAm · 18/11/2020 08:49
@deeplybaffled how about a floor piano mat?
That definitely doesn't meet the "won't sever my friendship with his mother" criteria. Or wouldn't if they were my friend, anyway 😂

Bsmirched · 18/11/2020 08:50

@Sunshineskies A Boy Called Christmas by Matt Haig is fabulous.

JoanneCofton · 18/11/2020 08:50

Does anyone know if NowTv are still doing their ‘one day sports passes’ or gift vouchers in general? I can’t see them on their website and was planning on buying a couple to put in a hamper. Looked in tesco but they didn’t have any but I’m not sure if they have just stopped stocking them. Thanks !

Chocolateteabag · 18/11/2020 09:01

Matalan have 30% cashback today on topcashback

woodwaj · 18/11/2020 09:04

@Rosie2000 I havent tried it for a while but code SHA5 used to give free delivery at Debenhams if you are buying a beauty item (if not add the cheapest beauty item usually a face mask!)

Raindropsonrosesand · 18/11/2020 09:09

@1stTimeMama could you possibly link to the Greek myths maze book? DD loves both Greek myths and mazes, so it sounds perfect!

I'm another one recommending the Usborne Illustrated Greek myths. It's at the perfect level for a 6-7 year old, with colourful illustrations on every page making it very appealing. The language is simplified enough to be accessible whilst still telling the stories. It was the first book that DD got excited about reading by herself, and took to school to read in spare moments Smile

They also do illustrated Norse Myths and Arabian Nights, which are also nicely written (simplified to a similar level) but these have fewer pictures and more words on each page, so I'd say give the Greek myths first, then these as a next step.

Certain Amazon Echo devices have money off when you order via an Alexa device

I just got the 4th Gen Echo Spot for £28.99 which is a saving of £21. Nice little gift for anyone who isn't too worried about being listened to (if that's at all true 🤷🏼‍♀️)

I expect these will drop to a similar price on Black Friday.

AnnPerkins · 18/11/2020 09:15
