Thread 20 - the one with the reminder to put the bargain info *in bold*

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Has anyone else ordered a Nintendo Switch for click and collect at Asda only to find they are out of stock? What a waste of time!

cymrumam · 18/11/2020 11:31

Typo have a range reduced some items to £3 stocking fillers. They have 20% off site wide.
Not as good as last time unfortunately

JoanneCofton · 18/11/2020 11:32

My local Tesco have the Star Wars Lego advent calendar, I saw it this morning. And Harry Potter.

NotEnoughTime · 18/11/2020 11:41

Emma Bridgewater are doing an early Black Friday offer of 3 for 2 on (most of) their pottery items.

NotEnoughTime · 18/11/2020 11:42

Also, I just want to say what a lovely, friendly and kind thread this is Smile

Luxplus · 18/11/2020 11:45

Anyone else having issues with M&S orders? Had email confirming despatch then another one from Royal Mail giving delivery date and finally (on supposed delivery day) another from M&S thanking me for my returns and refunding money. Not unusual items that have gone out of stock - what is going on? Online chat was useless and they haven't responded to my email Confused

Squ1ggle · 18/11/2020 11:48

@uniqlo definitely not a bargain but we had major issues with condensation and mould in our house (we also don't have a tumbler and drying clothes inside was causing a lot of moisture) a friend recommended the Meaco 20L Low energy dehumidifier. We've had it a few weeks now and can't believe the difference, we have it running pretty much constantly downstairs (3bed semi) and get no condensation at all. It's pretty quiet so the noise isn't an issue and the amount of water it pulls out is astonishing. Comes with a HEPA filter so it purifies your air too.
Meaco

they do do a 12L version which is cheaper and would probably be ok for a smaller house or flat but 3 bed+ would be better with the 20L I think)

Lego Make your Own movie book kit is £10.54 on Amazon, looks like a good gift for kids amzn.to/35GYR9N

Daisy829 · 18/11/2020 11:53

@IggyAce I’m expecting they will have to isolate at some point so thought I’d get sorted. I’m only doing theirs today whilst they are out of the way. It’s nice to have the Xmas pressies all wrapped nicely and in a pile. Makes it feel real. I just need to try to hide them somewhere. Hope your kids are okay.

Squ1ggle · 18/11/2020 12:02

Just had these through the door for 40% off plus free p&p for Lands End

Codes are NOV1 and NOV2

A bit unusual but the scout store have black Friday offers reductions on uniforms but also gifts - water bottles, blankets, games and big discounts on a couple of tents

@margaritasbythesea

deeplybaffled my kids and I enjoy D'Aulaire's Greek Myhtgs but we do read ut together, partly because it's quite big but the vocabulary is quite interesting too.
Best book EVER. @deeplybaffled, you could not do better than this.

My best friend had it when we were little (we’re in our 50s). Bought it for DS1 (now 21). Bought it for DN (now 7). Every one of us loves it, learnt so much, will return to it again and again.

Ditto their Norse Myths

@uniqlo - I’m another one recently converted to a Meaco dehumidifier! Made a huge difference to my house and pretty quiet ( I am kind of wondering how I’d never heard/thought of it before!). I think the key is to get one that’s the right size for your house - they will tell you in the description. If you get that then if you find a central place to put it and generally have doors open you don’t need to move it round the house. I got one that was too small at first and getting the right size made a big difference.

littlestpogo · 18/11/2020 12:21

Could anyone recommend a small beauty gift (£15 max really) for a friend who is vegan? Was looking for something similar to the baubles filled with shower gel type thing. Many thanks!!

WillSantaBeComingToTown · 18/11/2020 12:29

@PinkJam

Very random...

But has anyone got a 2020 Smyths toys catalogue that they don’t need?

If so, would you be happy to post it to me if I PayPal you over the cost?

They customer service is surprisingly good- have you asked?

I think stores are open for click and collect- so you could also try calling your local one.

EverybodyKeepCool · 18/11/2020 12:30

Urban Decay had some vegan makeup in their sale but not sure if that's what you were thinking

bettyskitchen · 18/11/2020 12:31

Thanks all for the Meaco dehumidifier recommendations, just bought one! Been thinking about it for a while but you've convinced me.

Need to step away from these threads spent too much money today!

We have that one. I recommend you add googly eyes to it Grin because it's hilarious when the flap goes up and down. needtogetoutmore

uniqlo · 18/11/2020 12:52

@Squ1ggle and @littlestpogo thank you so much for the Meaco dehumidifier recommendations. I think I'll go for a 20L one. I'm just hoping it comes down at least a bit in price next week but if not I think I'll just have to bite the bullet and get it as the condensation is driving me mad!

4Minions2CallMyOwn · 18/11/2020 12:54

I feel like I want a Meaco dehumidifier now too! It’s the same price on Argos and Amazon, £259. Has anyone by any chance seen it anywhere cheaper? What are you guys doing to me Grin
