Thread 20 - the one with the reminder to put the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 15/11/2020 21:49

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Sorry @Sunshineskies I realise that they're out of stock at Selfridges.

There are some on Amazon, crazy prices for Amazon Prime and slightly less crazy non Prime delivery. Have a good search on there.

Ruralretreating · 18/11/2020 00:09

Great bargains on Fossil website, outlet discounted products plus code BLACKOUT for an extra 40% off. Free engraving on some products too.

Mrsfussypants1 · 18/11/2020 00:11

Theonlyoneiknow · 18/11/2020 00:16

Thanks DillieDoily there is one about 10 miles away I will give them a call. Thanks!

Tigger83 · 18/11/2020 00:17

Please don't buy baby blankets!! I'm awash with them with my 6 month old!!! The tuppence and crumble star wrap is a great idea. Muslins they'll have hundreds of as everyone always says buy more than you need. I'd recommend something go from the royal mint that the baby can keep and hopefully will go up in value (stuff starts from around £10) or another non novelty keep sake. Alternatively vouchers to an online class like baby massage. Wooden toy figures from somewhere like babipur. Family photo shoot with free photo -groupon etc do them. A Lamaze toy. A nice keepsake box....

Tigger83 · 18/11/2020 00:18

Or maybe this www.colourchronicles.com/the-baby-book-of-you

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 18/11/2020 00:34

Sorry @Theonlyoneiknow I wrongly tagged someone else in my last post.
No stock on Selfridges but some on Amazon, have a good look at the non Prime ones.

1stTimeMama · 18/11/2020 00:38

@deeplybaffled my 6yr old is currently obsessed with all things mythological! If it's story books you're after Rick Riordan's various series, or there is a 16 book box set called the Ancient Myths Collection by Orchard Books on Amazon, I've seen it as low as £8. I also just got my son a Greek Myths Maze book, which is brilliant! Each page is a maze based on a different Ancient Greek god/myth etc. It has all sorts of facts and information throughout and then the stories at the back.

myhobbyisouting · 18/11/2020 00:54

@Ruralretreating thank you!

Also 15% topcashback for fossil.

I've just ordered a hybrid smart watch down from £170 to £51 delivered with the cash back

Bargain

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 18/11/2020 00:59

@deeplybaffled

Can anyone recommend any good books on Norse / Greek / roman legends for a 6 year old, please? And a musical instrument for a two year old that won’t sever my friendship with his mother??
My son loved these graphic novels about the Olympians - Athena & Zeus (there are more in the series). Also The Odyssey. He was very into them when he was 6 as well, and is a keen reader.
Graphista · 18/11/2020 01:38

@DoomPoodle by fluffy do you mean fleece? If so I recommend M&S, not as expensive as you might think and my recipients loved theirs I got last year from there. Which inc a very fussy Male recipient

I've also had good responses on similar from m&co although that was a few years back now, and Matalan too.

herecomesthsun · 18/11/2020 02:39
@DillieDoily I've been watching for the half price panettone. Not sure if they are doing them
we just got delivered some 1/3 off from Waitrose

margaritasbythesea · 18/11/2020 06:50

deeplybaffled my kids and I enjoy D'Aulaire's Greek Myhtgs but we do read ut together, partly because it's quite big but the vocabulary is quite interesting too.

Notlongnow1 · 18/11/2020 06:53

@theonlyoneiknow Asda have it for £19 in Rollback here

Notlongnow1 · 18/11/2020 06:57

@theonlyomeiknow ignore that, its Harry Potter not star wars. Oops. Won't delete as may be useful to someone?!

margaritasbythesea · 18/11/2020 07:10

Look Fantastic have 20/ off today with SWIPE20. Also lots of deals - I noticed a free mascara with a £40 spend on Benefit.

PinkDaydreams · 18/11/2020 07:15

Are there any promotional codes flying round for river island please? Thank you! I'd normally get nhs discount in-store but obviously they're closed.

pigeonorstatue · 18/11/2020 07:18

Wise shoppers! Can you please help with a £10 (ish) gift for a 4/5 year old boy. My daughter’s school is doing a secret Santa and I don’t have a clue what to go for! Xx

Crackery · 18/11/2020 07:21

Anyone know what the big shoe shops do for Black Friday. Looking for some bargain shoes for 15yo dd- Air Force 1/ vans if possible.

Chocolateteabag · 18/11/2020 07:37

@Sunshineskies How Winston delivered christmas (but you can get it cheaper elsewhere)

Chocolateteabag · 18/11/2020 07:38

@pigeonorstatue - I would go with Lego City or Lego Creator? Or Tractors/farm stuff

Martinisarebetterdirty · 18/11/2020 07:39

@whoknows1230 don’t beat yourself up about the Amazon France Lego - I ordered it and it never arrived so had to cancel to get a refund - they kept sending me out of stock messages.
I also second the Usborne book of Greek myths - mine loved it.

Crackery · 18/11/2020 07:44

Do the very codes for £30 off a £60 for new customers still exist? I can find reference to them this year but not an actual code...

Kerrierr · 18/11/2020 07:47

@PinkDaydreams
EARLYACCESS gers you 20% off a £75 spend at River Island. According to an email I had.
