Thread 20 - the one with the reminder to put the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 15/11/2020 21:49

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Thanks for adding the m&s code but I can't get it to work (trying to buy badger pyjamas for husband) so maybe it's account specific?

myhobbyisouting · 17/11/2020 10:48

I can't find the referral codes thread. Please can anyone link?

Bloom and wild have their Tiny Trees in stock and I'm trying to add my referral code

myhobbyisouting · 17/11/2020 10:53

Scrap that. Found it. I'm blind

been following these threads for years but never normally have anything to contribute
but realised that not everyone will know about
Honey - www.joinhoney.com
Its an add on that you add to your search bar (like camelcamelcamel)
when you go to checkout on any site, its checks what discount codes exist and tests them for you
have saved a fair bit and means i dont have to go searching for the 'advertised' discount codes
HTH

Fuckingfuckssake · 17/11/2020 11:00

I've got some womenswear in my M&S basket and the code isn't working for me either.

herecomesthsun · 17/11/2020 11:08

M and S code didn't work also, sorry

Foggyday124 · 17/11/2020 11:16

Girlonatubetrain2 very interesting, thank you!

MrsJamTart · 17/11/2020 11:19

Oooos sorry that is my fault with the M&S code it’s actually for M&co sorry! Thought I’d got something helpful for the thread for once!

sycamorescrumptious · 17/11/2020 11:21

Just a thanks to whoever mentioned Jurassic Jim on an earlier thread! I didn't want the full advent selection he does but emailed and requested a smaller version which arrived today and they're great!

Daisy829 · 17/11/2020 11:21

@nicky2512 I have ordered my dd an iPad directly from Apple for that exact reason. You can also get it engraved which I thought was cute. We went for the standard iPad (was going to get her a pro 2019 but can’t find them anywhere now the new one is out). The mini is quite small in comparison so just check you are happy with the screen size. Also delivery direct from Apple was up to 4 weeks so I’d order sooner rather than later. Mine actually only took 3 & is due tomorrow

SlipASomethingUnderThe · 17/11/2020 11:29

@Graphista

Silk pyjamas starting from size 6

That's exactly the type of thing I'd do Grin

Can I ask for ideas for Christmas Eve box please? It’s mainly for my 16 year old dd, I have more ideas for the younger dc. I usually put in pjs, slippers or socks and a fleece blanket but they seem to have more than enough pjs/slippers/socks this year and we have way too many fleece blankets in this house.
So far I’ve got a mug, hot chocolate, squirty cream and mini marshmallows for them all.
Advent calendar.
For the younger ones I’ve got some Christmas jigsaws and crafts.
Not quite sure what to add for 16 year old though.
If anyone has any ideas would be really grateful.

greyinganddecaying · 17/11/2020 11:41

@nicky2512

I need an iPad mini for ds. Am I better buying direct from apple in case of any faults or problems or can I buy anywhere? Currys are a bit cheaper but it says apple mini 2019 and I don’t know if this is the same one (I can’t see a year on the apple website one). Sorry but I’m clueless about technology. He just needs it for google classroom/zoom etc so I assume the mini is ok?

@nicky2512 - I would buy from John Lewis as they have a 2 year guarantee (other places it's 1 year I think, unless you buy AppleCare)

DillieDoily · 17/11/2020 11:52

I now need to buy two Echo dots after ignoring all the prime day offers- grrr! Are they likely to be reduced for Black Friday or have I missed my chance for bargain dots?

MissRainbowBrite · 17/11/2020 11:52

If you already have Alexa's in your house when I looked at the Amazon app this morning it had some offers on for ordering through Alexa. New Echo dot for £28.99, it's the one shaped like a sphere. Worth checking if you have one.

PinkDaydreams · 17/11/2020 12:05

£20 off a spend of £20 or more at Celtic & co with code FESTIVE20

Trudee · 17/11/2020 12:14

Has anyone shopped with Redbubble? I've found a couple of random face masks with specific characters for dc's stockings but the postage charge is £19! Surely that's not right 😳

Possibly coming from America
clothesclothesclothes · 17/11/2020 12:21

@EverybodyKeepCool

Does anyone know if Emma Bridgewater ever does free delivery? I want a mug but they're overpriced for what they are so free delivery would help 😂
Black Friday they'll have possibly 30% off. Free delivery is rare these days I'm afraid. Put it in your basket and they might email you a discount code which will help with P&P 😆
selina25 · 17/11/2020 12:27

does anyone know if there are ever any deals on cyberjammies?

2 lovely keyworker nieces to buy for.....

Sunshineskies · 17/11/2020 12:33

Sorry when I said Christmas Eve boxes up thread I meant December 1st boxes 🤦🏼‍♀️

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 17/11/2020 12:34

@Sunshineskies bath bomb, nail varnish, Christmas mug

FizzyPink · 17/11/2020 12:36

Does anyone know what the white company usually do on Black Friday? I’ve got a few things in my basket and a 15% discount code but not sure if it’s worth holding out until then

Whyisitsodifficult · 17/11/2020 12:39
@Whyisitsodifficult range plus have them for £33.64 for 12? any use? I haven't used them myself so apologies if wrong thing!
Thanks I’ve not heard of them before. £234 for 36 markers! Unfortunately for me he wants the sketch ones which aren’t the cheaper ones!
