Thread 20 - the one with the reminder to put the bargain info *in bold*

Reastie · 15/11/2020 21:49

please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets
No space
Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

Oh I've missed the Vodafone codes again, it's very quick over on that board!

Scout2016 · 17/11/2020 08:40

@Graphista I use bonusprint. They always have offers on and I find the making part easier than with other sites I've tried, although there are maybe fewer templates available. It's not especially heavy paper or luxury feel though, if you were wanting something really high end.

NoWordForFluffy · 17/11/2020 08:55

@HoHoHolyMackerel, do you want a code for the chocolates?

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 17/11/2020 09:05

Buckley London jewellery have their Tenner Tuesday sale again today here

After waiting ages for the Matalan Christmas pyjamas I wanted to come back into stock, they've finally sent me an email to say they won't be getting any more. Bah humbug!

aw93 · 17/11/2020 09:07

If anyone wants a code for 25% off at ASOS pm me.

MrsJamTart · 17/11/2020 09:23

@Tigger83
I’ve never bought anything for full price on pro cook so I would of thought they would have a Black Friday sale, they also sell through amazon (or they used to I’ve not checked). I will say though that we have a knife set from there and I’m not very impressed with it. The last few things we’ve had from there I haven’t been impressed by and it was my favourite place to get things like that from.

MrsJamTart · 17/11/2020 09:24

SpamIAm · 17/11/2020 09:27

I don't know what's going on with matalan stock. I set up an alert for a Christmas dress for my daughter in October and got an email a few days later to say they wouldn't be getting any more - how can you run out two months before Christmas? And I ordered two Christmas candles for our table, one of which arrived smashed, so they've refunded and given me a voucher to cover postage to order another one, but they're out of stock too 🤷‍♀️

IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile · 17/11/2020 09:34

@claraTheImpossibleGirl and @SpamIAm Can I ask which pjs you were waiting for from Matalan please? I had to order some extras as I didn't get the sizes right first time but payment has just been pending in my account for a couple of weeks! I don't want to return the 'wrong' size ones if I'm not going to receive the replacements.

roosterroo · 17/11/2020 09:44

Looking for two christmas duvet covers most places seem to be out of stock in singles x

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 17/11/2020 09:54

@IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile I was waiting for these bear pyjamas but in kids and mum sizes... they had various combinations of dad/ mum/ kids available before but never all in one go, and now they've only got the dad ones!

They also sold out of their Christmas countdown calendar which I ordered online in October but wanted to get another one of... by the time I received my order a couple of weeks ago all the rest had gone Hmm

SilkieAndMoonface · 17/11/2020 09:58

@The4ks Somerset Toiletry Co is a good call, I've ordered from them before and liked them but hadn't spotted that they did plastic free.

Those are perfect, @Mrsmadevans, thanks.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl thanks, I'll check them out near Black Friday. A bargain would be helpful.

@Graphista thanks for the suggestion. We do have The Game of Life actually, from when I was little. On the whole, though, we find those kind of games too much luck and not enough strategy, which can be frustrating. Very much hoping for a co-operative game too, this time, for the children to play together, save the competitive stuff for when we're around to smooth ruffled feathers.

EverybodyKeepCool · 17/11/2020 09:59

Does anyone know if Emma Bridgewater ever does free delivery? I want a mug but they're overpriced for what they are so free delivery would help 😂

HoHoHolyMackerel · 17/11/2020 10:02

Thanks @NoWordForFluffy but another lovely MNetter gave me one Smile

Is the mug on John Lewis? Might be a better delivery option
BicycleMadeForTwo · 17/11/2020 10:03

@IfyoushouldmeetaCrocodile I had ordered the Greatest Show PJs from Matalan last week when all sizes were showing as in stock, got an email yesterday saying they don’t have any stock and cancelled the order.

lexloofah · 17/11/2020 10:07

@OopsUpsideYerHead we have the big and small ones of these duralex tumblers, get dropped on wooden floor occasionally, no breakages yet link

slithytoveisascientist · 17/11/2020 10:16

Can anyone tell me about the Nintendo switch please? I’ve bought it, now what else should I get? Any bargainous game recommendations?

nicky2512 · 17/11/2020 10:17

I need an iPad mini for ds. Am I better buying direct from apple in case of any faults or problems or can I buy anywhere? Currys are a bit cheaper but it says apple mini 2019 and I don’t know if this is the same one (I can’t see a year on the apple website one).
Sorry but I’m clueless about technology. He just needs it for google classroom/zoom etc so I assume the mini is ok?

lexloofah · 17/11/2020 10:24

@sugarplumfairy2010 some single duvet covers at NEXT, I am happy with the new Christmas duvet sets I got off eBay last month so worth looking on there as well

Hurrah for PayPal. I finally got a refund from IWOOT. It felt a lot like asking a burly older cousin to have a word with the schoolyard bully. It’s made me very wary of other Hut Group companies too which is probably completely unfair, I know, but I just can’t afford to have €50 odd tied up for 6 weeks.
