please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Here’s Barbarara’s instructions from last year on doing clicky links:

Open double square brackets

Paste link
Space
Name of link
No space
Close double square brackets

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

For more links etc see message 2

If any link doesn’t work or you want to add something please let me know by @ing me Thanks

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/11/2020 19:58

@PatchworkElmer they had some lovely Christmas crockery at the range, the Christmas gnome range is especially lovely

prominent5 · 15/11/2020 20:01

Does anyone have an Argos code they are not going to use please?

Gurufloof · 15/11/2020 20:01

In the interests of science or something, I made chocolate brownies and chocolate cookies from the cake mix offer.
(To be fair to me and the mixes, I'm tired, I also made two angel food cakes and herby Yorkshire puddings and a beef stew thing)
They both taste lovely, very chocolatey. The brownies I slightly undercooked accidentally but my God I love the taste, the cookies I think I missed a step out, again taste divine but texture more like cake than cookie. Probably I overcooked them. Anyway next weekend I'm trying the pancakes and another mix. Will report.

My 8 year old DS has spent about 2 hours today setting up his huge schleich farm. We have a lot. Horse stables, rabbit pen, kitten playset, hen house, horse wash, tractor, horse box, lots of horses/pigs/sheep/cows/dogs/cats/Rabbitts/ddeer. Horse jumping set.

I bought nearly all of ours second hand in bundles but it is such a loved toy in our house by kids of all ages.

TheCrow · 15/11/2020 20:05

@lifeinahamsterwheel typo have some shower speakers in the same, lots of different colours. No idea on quality sorry but could look at the reviews

@Carrie76 I’d love a Victoria secret code please, didn’t even know they did them

luckiestgirl · 15/11/2020 20:18

I made the chocolate brownies from the mixes today. I’ve been replacing the butter with melted chocolate and adding a bit of extra castor sugar in them to add flavour (otherwise they taste a bit bland) and that’s been working well

Me too - I blooming love this thread. I enjoy it every year, but more this year than ever. It's full of amazing caring, resourceful, funny people who have put a smile on my face many times in what has been a pretty shit year (for most people on the planet).

I have learnt a lot, and saved a small fortune.

❤️

Loving this thread as well. Can I pick your brains please? Want ideas for ds aged 30, likes maths, chess, technology, sport doesn't like books or alcohol. Have bought him t shirts and a football shirt and stuff for his stocking. Might buy him some fragrance but does anyone have an idea for something a bit less boring?

socks with the matching boxers. They also have science ones.

Does he have an echo dot or similar? I’ve got my boys (25, 23 & 14) an initial mug from Dunelm with the bakedin mug cakes, hot chocolate spoons and marshmallow toppers. AirPods, shower speaker, nice pen or mechanical pencil (my sons request). Travel mug/flask.

LutherRalph1 · 15/11/2020 21:22

@margaritasbythesea may be worth seeing if any zoos have online shops, I'm sure they'd appreciate the custom right now

SpamIAm · 15/11/2020 21:23

Chester zoo have an online shop :) I ordered a few playmobil bits from there and they included a handwritten postcard which I thought was really lovely.

Foggyday124 · 15/11/2020 21:30

For those with an Amex, please check your offers on it. I haven’t in ages and there are so many!!
Yet another place to keep track of...

TheLastStarfighter · 15/11/2020 21:31

@22Giraffes George at Asda is free delivery if you spend over £50, and free returns with Collect plus, so if what you want is less than £50 you could get something else to put it over the threshold and then return the extra. (Although beware, I just did this and then ended up keeping the extra thing because I liked it Blush)

Delahot · 15/11/2020 21:34

Anyone seen any cute onesies for a 13 year old boy I think he’s had a sloth but he’d happy with any x

Delahot · 15/11/2020 21:36

Sorry meant to say onesie needs to be soft and fluffy/cosy! Be grateful for any ideas or recommendations x

Penguinbeaver · 15/11/2020 21:39
