please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

Like this
[[www.amazingbargains.com bargain ]] but with no space after/before the brackets.
If I do it again without the extra spaces only the word bargain will appear in blue

@IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts there's one here not used the company but good trust pilot reviews.

sugarplumfairy2010 · 14/11/2020 13:47

Ooh thanks for the reminder about the nspcc Christmas letters I get them every year but had totally forgot this year. Nearly finished buying thanks to this thread.

yafilthyanimalandahappynewyear · 14/11/2020 13:50

@SleeptightDaisy, it's only for today though so you have to be quick!
I feel your pain, a few weeks ago I bought the Lego Disney Castle for £299 - yesterday Shop Disney had it reduced to £255 - OUCH!
I've just ordered the Playmobil ancient Egyptian bundle for £40 for my five year old ds birthday (which is six days after Christmas!) so he'll be thrilled with that!

Vebrithien · 14/11/2020 13:56
@PinkDaydreams it was me 👋🏻! Thank you! They are so cheap! After all the lovely links and tips from yesterday, I looked into it and yes they do fit but I've decided against them as I think he'd get too angry and frustrated as trying to join them together (he gets mad enough when there's a derailment!). So I'm going to stick to the hunt for the wooden ones with the magnets on the front...however because they are so cheap I might see if I can grab a couple just to play with for out and about Grin
Thomas Take n play trains for wooden tracks, and are often in TKMax. We got some wooden Thomas trains on eBay for a couple of pounds each, DD wanted some specific characters.

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 14/11/2020 13:56

@BeGoneDom thankyou! I've been watching for Gravitrax to be reduced. So happy, can now get some accessories as my dad gave me money to buy the sets for my DC. Going to hold out and see if any of those go down.

@3IggyAce what have I missed re: Disney+, can't see the offer mentioned!!

cloudatlaschapter2 · 14/11/2020 14:02

@Backatsquareone thank you! Not a bargain but they fit the bill!!

margaritasbythesea · 14/11/2020 14:05

Puffalicious - you might be sorted with the Typo headphones now but I thought it was worth mentioning the Anker ones. I got them Prime Week in October for £20 and I am quite impressed so far.

DS tells me 'everyone ' at school has the fitbit, which I doubt and would like one but I have already spent his budget. Any recommendations for a decent one no more than £20-30 would be appreciated. I don't know anything about them though. Are they only any good if you have your own phone? He doesn't. And do you have to have a kids one? He's 10.

Restlessinthenorth · 14/11/2020 14:06

Has anyone seen any gadgets for cleaning mud from football boots? Currently contending with a stinking pair in my porch. There has to be an easier way!

unkindnessofravens · 14/11/2020 14:09

@Restlessinthenorth I've heard good things about boot buddy but haven't tried it myself

balalalala · 14/11/2020 14:10

Do Turtle Doves normally do black Friday offers?

BeaLola · 14/11/2020 14:11

@Restlessinthenorth I call it my DH !

boobybum · 14/11/2020 14:12

minsmum I think these Matalan codes may be generic

XMAS5 - £5 off £50
XMAS10 - £10 off £75
XMAS15 - £15 off £100

mummyof2boys30 · 14/11/2020 14:17

Disney plus offer was free 2 month trial if purchase on fortnite. We've never had disney plus before

Tailrunner · 14/11/2020 14:18

@Restlessinthenorth we have a boot buddy and it is brilliant. Very simple but saves so much times and mess. Boots cleaned in less than 5 min.

Foggyday124 · 14/11/2020 14:20

I bought the boot buddy and all the sprays, they had an offer on their website (might still be there) and went for it.

It’s a plastic brush that releases water while you scrub the boots. Unless you have pretty stinky boots (in which case the foot deodorant I received helps) a wooden spoon to scrub the boots under tap water, to me, would achieve the same result.

Restlessinthenorth · 14/11/2020 14:30

Thanks all! A boot buddy it is!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 14/11/2020 14:31

@FrenchieMum2Be go to buysubscriptions.com/RTG4720

That gives you 6 issues for £1 and then 49.90 every 6 months which equals £1.90 per issue instead of £3.30

We used to wash boots under the outside tap but the water is freezing (especially after winter matches when you have cold hands already) and it splashed mud all over me, DC and the drive as I scraped it off the boots. I fill the boot buddy with warm soapy water, it gets the mud off quickly and it doesn't make a mess. For me it was worth it just so we didn't keep putting the job off but we are a very lazy family.
AndddddHerewegoagain · 14/11/2020 14:32

@margaritasbythesea i really rate avons version of the fitbit

Friedbanana · 14/11/2020 14:43

Thank you for all the recommendations on bread makers! Unfortunately(/fortunately as it’s saved me wasting money!) i mentioned it to DP and he said he really wouldn’t like one as he likes buying bread and he couldn’t be bothered to clean it each time Grin

My previous idea had been a soda stream as he loves fizzy drinks. I thought it would be perfect and he would love it and be able to make super fizzy coke, but we were in aldi and there was one out and he didn’t look twice, so I was like ‘oo what do you think of those’ and he said ‘not for me, the gas canisters are so expensive and I like getting cans from the fridge!’ so that idea also flopped..

So just sharing in case anyone has an expensive surprise up their sleeves, maybe worth checking that it’s actually something they’d use! Grin

@Puffalicious

Looking for decent but cheap wireless earphones. DS2 got very pricey Samsung buds (£140 pricey!) for his birthday yesterday (the joy of teens) and DS3 age 8 is constantly trying to steal them! I thought I'd buy him some cheap ones for Christmas, like £20 cheap since his Xmas request is a Switch!Hmm
TK Max have a few pairs of wireless earbuds for around £20
Lovemusic33 · 14/11/2020 15:02

The gravitrax starter kit is on offer on Amazon, I can decide if dd would like it or not? She’s 14 and has ASD, she loves her marble run but it’s a bit too simple for her now, I have already bought her a big lego set but she will complete this quickly and won’t play with it. Anyone’s DC’s have gravitrax? Is it worth the cost?

whoknows2 · 14/11/2020 15:03

I got an amazing deal on the giant raptor Jurassic world toy at the beginning of these threads so hoping someone has a trick again for me!!

We are deep in our dinosaur phase just now and DS is asking Santa for the super colossal T rex. It's an eye watering £70 in Argos - considering it doesn't even have batteries or do anything overly exciting! Cheapest I've seen is £60 on eBay. 😖🤭 I put it to expert shoppers of the Christmas thread!

@margaritasbythesea by boys have the Xiaomi bands. They’re fab, almost 2 years old now and are worn every day. They’re waterproof and only need to be charged every 10 days or so. You can also buy a bundle of straps for about £15 so they can change the colour regularly band

EnglishRose1320 · 14/11/2020 15:09

Dipped out of these threads for a bit whilst going through some tricky things. Have realised Christmas is creeping up really quickly though so back on the bargain hunt. Thinking about getting either the Lego Boost set or the Lego Mindstorms set for my ds, he finds between the 2 age wise and can't decide which would be best, spend less on the boost and its doesn't matter so much if he loses interest or grows out of it. Or invest in Mindstorms and hope its worth its money. Any suggestions? Also any discount codes or good places to pick either up. Cheers.
