I am so tired of how this year has been. I log in and this is the first board I come to. I am so enjoying reading bargain threads, what people cook and like to eat, shop etc. it may seem trivial to many but for me it’s really giving me something to look forward to.

Me too, my favourite threads are the ones about everyone's Christmas traditions, Christmas day routines etc. Really uplifting

I agree. They have pretty much saved me .

I’m mostly ignoring everything else now and (thanks to the Christmas board) have realised I can have something bright and friendly to look forward to.

It's like having our own little MN Christmas Grotto, where we can come to escape from the odious reality of 2020, with a sigh of relief, pull up a really comfy chair with people of fellow feeling, and enjoy something we can make a little bright spot in our lives, isn't it?

There's wine, mulled wine, and eggnog on offer, too.

A vote from me too.... my Edge link for Mumsnet comes straight to this board. All. Year. Round. It really does spark joy. And that really means something right now.

It really does mean something right now. It feels like a place, where, okay, outside, it's cold, miserable, bleak and wet, but in here, it's bathed in soft gentle Christmas light, it's warm, and it's filled with a happy glow of gentle anticipation.

Heh...I did think perhaps it officially does start again on the day but I couldn’t be sure!

I do poke my nose in all year, but I don't get excited until August!
