I’ve shared a few on the bargain thread but I think it’s worthy of its own thread. Add your own stores you recommend.

Pure maple - maple butter is incredible, I first tried it in NY and was ecstatic to find someone producing it here last year, when they appeared at our local Christmas market. It's not cheap but it is an amazing product, quality is great and it's vegan, gluten free and bloody delicious. I've not tried any of their other products.

Thanks for recommending this - I popped onto their website last week and the maple syrup is delicious, my dc love it on pancakes. I haven't opened the maple butter yet but can't wait to try it!

I know this is an old thread, but I've made a number of purchases based on recommendations on here so I thought it might be worth resurrecting! Smile

My contribution is this shop I've discovered during lockdown, it has some lovely unusual stuff.

FabbyMagic · 22/01/2021 18:19

I always look at this hoping someone resurrects this and posts more suggestions Grin I have been through literally every online shop suggested here!

Zhx3 · 22/01/2021 22:06

Me too! So many excellent finds!

FelicityPike · 28/01/2021 20:51

Shameless placemarking

NatalieBe · 23/02/2021 13:03

Some stores mentioned here a really good, but some others are a bit sketchy let's say - as others mentioned already.

As a jewelry fanatic, I'll share some of mine as well~
wyvernshoard.com/ (various quirky pieces)
jewelstories.com/ (handmade from Greece!)

MrsDoctorDear · 13/06/2021 12:04

Can I resurrect this thread? I went through it again last night and found lots of little gems. I've bookmarked a few sites to go back to.

noscoobydoodle · 13/06/2021 20:04

I loved this thread and would be happy to see it resurrected!
My contribution: I recently ordered some personalised sweet jars from askmummyanddaddy.com - came quickly, and look lovely. The website clearly signposted for dairy free, vegetarian and vegan which was perfect for the tricky people I needed to buy for!

furstivetreats · 14/06/2021 18:49

It's a great thread. I don't think I have anything to add to what has already been posted at the moment but I'll have a think.

I haven't looked through all the recommendations so apologies if this independent shop has been mentioned before:
Just a little something - [www.jals.co.uk]
It sells Jellycats, homewear and gifts for children and adults.
I ordered a couple of bits just before last Christmas and delivery was extremely quick, well packaged and included a complimentary pack of sweets which was a nice gesture.

PPCD · 27/06/2021 15:56

@MooseyMoo thank you for recommending the Highball cocktails. We got some recently and they were great. We particularly liked the Cosmopolitan and Mojito. I think I'll be getting them again for Christmas as a treat.

justforthis7 · 31/07/2021 17:11

Ooh what a good idea OP!

Scout2016 · 02/08/2021 20:33

Wonderbly make personalised books. We have "the little girl who lost her name" and a character with similar hair etc to my DD goes on an adventure collecting all the letters of her name up. It's lovely quality.

I'm eyeing up their 2 Where's Wally style ones - you choose the charcter's appearance and they get hidden in different scenes. They do nursery rhyme books and other things too, some for adults.

This lovely gift, homewares and children’s gifts shop is based in Wye in Kent. It’s a beautiful small shop opened during the pandemic after the owner took it on from her parents (formerly greengrocers)

Everything is beautifully curated, a one stop shop for gifts like candles, blankets, jewellery, cards and wrap to make a few. Service is always great too, really quick and beautifully wrapped.

Hello,
Restarting this thread from last year as it was very useful.

Hope you don't mind @TheDrsDocMartens

crikeycrumbsblimey · 01/10/2021 14:56

I got (myself) some jewellery for my birthday from www.etsy.com/uk/shop/dingdon1951

Quite a few are suffragette colours which is somewhat topical!

Teaandtonic · 01/10/2021 19:41

Love all of these! You've definitely given me some ideas for presents.

I bought a set of reusable crackers from here last week. They are stunning! Just deciding what to put in them, I've got these for the adults and then some normal ones for the kids. Any ideas for cracker fillers?

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 01/10/2021 22:12

For toys, I'd recommend toys galore in Edinburgh. Free delivery over a set amount £40 I think. Lego, playmobil, board games etc. More RRP than the prices you might get on Amazon but if you want to support an independent toy store and don't have one local to you then this might do the trick!

goose1964 · 02/10/2021 00:16

When you really don't have any ideas because they have everything, fully functional vikingdrinkinghorns.com/

delilahbucket · 02/10/2021 08:13

Love this one for homewares. Some fab Christmas tea towels in!

So glad to see this thread revived. Not started shopping yet as it's barely October but I will be bookmarking this again
