I’ve shared a few on the bargain thread but I think it’s worthy of its own thread. Add your own stores you recommend.

This is a great thread I've got lots of sites to look at now!

I can recommend Abi's Attic who sell lovely handmade eco vegan jewellery and gifts made from Portuguese cork. I bought a friend a bracelet from here and she was thrilled with it. Really good value too.

Also another virtual Christmas Market

Rossendale Trust Xmas Market and Raffle

GooseberryTart · 18/11/2020 17:31

I just emailed our local nice independent town card shop to ask if their was anyway they could post out some Christmas cards to me as I am shielding and won’t be risking town after the 2nd December. They replied and asked me to phone which I dis at lunch time. They put me on facetime and I picked out a couple of nice multi packs and 4 individual cards for family, I paid over the phone and it so happens the lady I spoke to lives less than 1/2 a mile away from me so she kindly offered to drop them off for free. The cards weren’t cheap but they are nice and they really appreciated the business.

Lovely little toy shop near my parents that also does online

toytastik.myshopify.com/collections/all/

Gallery website for lots of British craftspeople - went looking for a particular glass artist who sells through here and may now have bought lots of other peoples stuff too!

Great cheese shop - also like the notes they send with your cheese. We've bought from lots of cheese sellers for us and gifts but this is our favourite laffinage.co.uk

problembottom · 18/11/2020 19:04

Had a fabulous browse through many of these links today. Have bought my DP the perfect present from Summer Lane Studio from our baby. And just about to buy some chocolate for my friend - spoiled for choice on shops for that one! Usually do Hotel Chocolat.

bluesky · 18/11/2020 19:20

In my opinion, the best chocolate spoons are from Kernow Chocolate, they are £1.95 each www.kernowchocolate.co.uk/chocolate/hot-chocolate-spoons

Their chocolate is amazing, they supply National Trust, Kew, Eden Project, the milk chocolate with sea salt is my favourite. They have some delicious festive bars too. Always nice to put in a stocking.

The fairytale fair based in Brighton has a directory of all their makers, lots of interesting stuff from independent sellers www.thefairytalefair.co.uk/creatives-maker-directory/

InDreamland · 18/11/2020 23:52

I am really enjoying this thread and like all of you, trying to support local businesses. I have a few pieces from this crafter. All hand made and unique pieces of glass art. She can make bespoke pieces too, excellent service and posts worldwide. I am buying some friends a glass star decoration each this year from here www.artisanglassni.co.uk/

I've jaur found this online Christmas Market whilst looking for independent liqueur companies.
onlinechristmasfair.com/

At first glance I can see a few names I recognise (what a pickle - chilli jam is amazing) seems a varied list of independents although possibly pricey

Lurchermom · 19/11/2020 00:22

Might not be for everyone but I love www.thetinnedfishmarket.com - lots of European tinned fish with beautiful labels. Great for adding to hampers.

Doordye · 19/11/2020 22:55

DD loves this skin care range. I tried the balm today & my skin felt amazing. It’s quite a new company local to me.

Laura's confectionary - sorry I am rubbish with links. Lovely fudge, decent prices. They stock in selfridges but they have decent deals in their online shop.

Love this thread. I've got so much ready now. Adding another to my list, so far I can recommend from purchases:

MuckyKnees - kids presents.
FudgieChunks - ridiculously beautiful fudge
The Wise Old Owl - custom gifts and wonderful customer service
Redbubble - have spent way too much there
Cadeux have lovely jewellery
Also got lots of stunning cards from various sellers on the [[https://thebritishcrafthouse.co.uk
British Craft House]] from this thread. That place sinks money.

Really, I'm done for Christmas presents but for nearest and dearest, but there's so much to look at on this thread Smile. Hope it carries on. Other charity-supporting places would be good, animal charities particularly if anyone knows of any?

MrsHamlet · 21/11/2020 18:56

I need help finding interesting supplies for a cocktail hamper. Any recommendations?

Zhx3 · 21/11/2020 21:33

I've been looking for some woolly socks and mittens from an independent retailer and came across this gorgeous-looking, fairly traded shop in Skipton. My dd will love them!
