I’ve shared a few on the bargain thread but I think it’s worthy of its own thread. Add your own stores you recommend.

I'm late to this thread but I'm loving all the recommendations! I bought some candles and wax melts from www.homeswithnomes.co.uk/shop

Soy wax candles and they smell amazing

@AndNoneForGretchenWieners, I liked the look of this shop in North Berwick. Their website is not taking orders at the moment but there is an email address and hopefully they'll be up and running soon.

Does anyone have a recommendation for somewhere I can get dried truffles?

Osquito · 08/12/2020 03:04

@tentative3 My sister buys them from Sous Chef when she can’t get any in local Italian deli.

tentative3 · 08/12/2020 11:13

Thanks @Osquito I'd seen them on there so it's good to have an endorsement!

Osquito · 08/12/2020 12:13

@tentative3 No problem - though worth saying I hate truffles so have not tried these! If you have a Selfridges or similar near you, their foodhall would probably sell them too.

tentative3 · 08/12/2020 12:50

I hate them too! We're not near a Selfridges or anywhere similar unfortunately so I think I'll go for souschef. Thanks again.

Nuraskincare.co.uk is a small cosmetic business in Devon who do beautiful skincare (obviously!) but some great candles, handmade soaps and hand cream.... perfect presents for Christmas, bearing in mind we’re washing our hands more often.

For once, I think gifts of soap and hand cream are ok this Christmas!

Over lockdown I've bought a few scarves from Twelve Middle Row and very pleased with their quality. Great customer service too and arrived quickly.

jeremyshomestore.co.uk/

I found this shop completely randomly, when searching online for a horseshoe magnet. Lots of lovely stocking filler toys and gifts, and very reasonable prices. I have seen some of the retro toys they have, being sold for a lot more on other websites. Plus free delivery over £20. I have just received my order which was carefully packaged, many items individually wrapped in newspaper so it was like opening a load of presents myself when it arrived! (The newspaper will be put to good use for lighting the fire!)

Very impressed; I used to order a lot of stocking fillers from tickseed toys every year until they closed down, so have been looking for a replacement since. The only issue I had was their website doesn’t work very well on a mobile, although I still managed to browse and place an order. Would advise using a laptop or iPad though.

Wonderingwondering99 · 14/12/2020 20:51

Wow the time has really flown. It seems a lot of places online are closing soon with post. I suppose it's due to the pressures.

I've managed to secure a few more fudge gifts and some hilarious pencils thanks for that recommendation.

Last throw of the dice now for a surprise request, wool earrings if there is such a thing?

Panicmode1 · 15/12/2020 16:50

So glad to see Jeremyshomestore.co.uk mentioned on here - they are a fabulous local business in the town where I live and it's a wonderful emporium with super staff and friendly owners.

2020inhouse · 16/12/2020 09:16

I've bought several items form this thread so thanks everyone for posting.

I ordered a lovely little doggy gift from mangoandbeau and now I am looking for a little something for a cat - any ideas?
Also any recommendations for Christmas home dec - I am desperately looking for a really nice and large tree skirt...

mum2jakie · 16/12/2020 22:12

@2020inhouse try

www.dougalsden.co.uk/

There is mainly dog items on the homepage but if you put cat in the search, it brings up loads of cat toys/treats etc.

40% off great quality, British-made underwear at ellaandme.co.uk/

Includes Kinky Knickers as seen on Mary Portas’ program, which aren’t remotely kinky but very comfortable and pretty.

SparklingLime · 05/01/2021 20:23

🤞🏼@ByeByeMissAmericanPie! They were recommended by someone on here, and I find them stretchy and comfy. Wish I’d bought a matching cami now...🤷🏻‍♀️
