I haven’t really watched many Christmas movies and I have a feeling we’ll end up filling the evenings with movie nights this year. Would love to hear your recommendations

I am the least sentimental person but love Christmas movies

Among my favourites are

The family man
Die hard - yes it’s a Christmas film, the first 2 are!
Trading places
Deck the halls
Four Christmases
The family stone
Elf
Muppet Christmas carol
Scrooged (bill Murray)
Jingle all the way
Love actually
The Santa clause
Gremlins
The long kiss goodnight
While you were sleeping
On moonlight bay (obscure Doris day)

If anyone can tell me where I can stream
The family man
The long kiss goodnight

I shall be eternally grateful!

But - I absolutely cannot STAND it’s a wonderful life

Black Christmas, the original 1970s one, we watch it every year (disclaimer: NOT suitable for children)

Muppet Christmas Carol
Home Alone
Krampus
Elf
Nightmare Before Christmas

CatsGoPurrrr · 20/09/2020 07:12

Muppets Christmas Carol
The Christmas Chronicles
Christmas with the Kranks
Snow Bride (cheesy Hallmark movie)
The Christmas Card (Hallmark again)

elQuintoConyo · 20/09/2020 07:22

Due Hard
Muppets
Scrooged
Gremlins.

Others I can take or leave, hate Arthur Christmas and Elf - it's quotable , but actually painful to watch.

Polar Express is watchable but creepy, a bit Uncanny Valley for me.

Nightmare Before Christmas we love, but watch at Halloween. I did make NBC tree decs one year, Zero is especially cute Grin

Any cheesey rubbish by Hallmark which usually involves a widower with a cute kid and a lodge that needs renovated falling for a city girl with a disappointing boyfriend

CloudyVanilla · 20/09/2020 09:06

The Crunch, animated and Jim Carey
Elf
Nightmare Before Christmas
Harry Potter 1 - 3 :)

CloudyVanilla · 20/09/2020 09:06

Ahah the Crunch, fgs, the Grinch!
