Got to Cornwall safely on Saturday, but there was terrible traffic, and it took us nine hours. Went to St Ives on Sunday, a really sunny day, we all caught the sun a little. Had a Cornish Cream tea ice cream
Went to Penzance today, lots of lovely sun again, we had a fabulous walk around the harbour, really starting to chill a little. Enjoyed an amazing Raspberry ice cream YUM

Morning!

I had another 8 hours sleep last night, after 8.5 the night before! I'm playing catch up with sleep this week, then next week I'm going to start getting up early to go for a run.

I hope you got some decent sleep, Boots!

Waiting for our Sainsburys delivery then will probably pop to local park for an hour or two then relax at home this afternoon. Weather bit grey and to be honest my legs need a quieter day after all the walking yesterday. Lockdown has massively affected my stamina for walking. When at work I walk about 2 hours just getting to and from work and nursery so losing that has really had an effect.

Also need to largely stay in today as expecting my new phone to arrive (realise now is not the best time for a new phone but my current one is ancient and every call I make is cutting people off and it no longer rings at all so I can only take calls if it is in my hand at the time someone calls!). We are also being sent a hamper by a company to thank DH for speaking at a conference and I am expecting various school supplies for DS.

I read on FB yesterday that there's 20 more Mondays till Christmas. To me that seems very far away.

Once we get into September, Christmas seems much, much closer, regardless of how many days / weeks it is. Disproportionately so, I think!

What phone are you getting, Most? I'm like you on the walking front. I'm expecting my stamina to be dire when I start running next week! I've gone from 13k steps on a working day to below 3k. I feel sluggish.

Samsung Galaxy A41. To be honest I'm not fussed about phones so went for a good deal. As long as it works I am happy :)

Once we are in September Christmas comes hurtling towards us although there will be no Strictly this year which will suck. Perhaps they can show an old series!

DS' school name labels have arrived so might start working on getting those stuck on. All starting to feel very real!

Oh god. No Strictly? Is that confirmed or would they do bubbles like F1 etc? That could be an answer with regular testing.

Looks like they'll have fewer people involved, and I bet they'll do regular testing as well, like footballers etc.

I'm glad it can happen, even if truncated!

I actually think fewer people and slightly shorter is better. I find the first weeks of Strictly hard going with so many couples and it taking over two hours for everyone to dance.

I agree actually. It's one hell of a commitment to watch initially!

Thank you for all the birthday wishes. I've had a nice day so far -in typical Scottish style it has bucketed down all day so we started with breakfast in bed, had a little stroll around, stopped for hot choc and cake and have a meal out this evening. And to top it off, DHs presents were trips away for new year and Valentine's Day and he's takes the dog out for a walk now with a cheery little "enjoy the peace and cross stitch away while you call your mum" 😊 He knows me so well!

Sounds like a blissful day crazy :)

Met a friend for a walk and a tea today and she talked about getting organised for Christmas - then looked at me and said that she suspected I was ahead of her. Guilty as charged I've run out of storage space until we put the winter duvet on, although DH took his painting clothes out of the ottoman today and if I'm quick I can fill that space before he finishes decorating. We should have been going on holiday this week

Good news that Strictly isn't completely cancelled. I tend to dip in and out but watch when it starts getting more competitive once the less talented celebs go
