Morning!

Today is haircuts and housework day here! The excitement. Grin

Boots, I have the opposite problem in that I'm having to jump from colour to colour to colour. I'm constantly searching the pattern to see if I can finish a thread rather than store partial ones which are just a bit big to throw!

I don't need that kind of gift. 🐀 At least DH is sorting it!

Housework day here too ahead of going to my parents for a swim/bbq.

Does anyone know if you can get books like the hallmark Christmas films? Cheesy easy reading festive books?! I'm thinking Cecelia Ahern style Grin

Wreck I loved these films - the Christmas one was fab. It looks like you can get the books too. Grin

pussycatinboots · 01/08/2020 10:03

This any good?

They look perfect! Thanks Grin I love an easy reading feel good book I can get through in two days. One where I don't have to think or read a line twice to understand 😂

FireflyGirl · 01/08/2020 10:37

boots they have an enchanted fairy dell, which was as close as I could get to getting married outside.

Bit drizzly, and we had to stop the readings while an exceptionally loud plane went over, but I loved it. They let us use the conservatory of their house to have a little reception (with Asti and platters from Sainsbury's). There were only 11 of us, and I loved it - it was very 'us' Grin

Wreck there are often free cheesy Christmas books on Kindle. I keep an eye through the year, and store them up. If you have a Kindle, I'll let you know if I see any.

We've just had the shopping delivered, DH is putting it away while I 'rest' in the garden watching DS demonstrating his watergun spinner. We'll have lunch and then head to the beach - hopefully it'll be quiet today after yesterday!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 01/08/2020 11:10

Sounds like people have lovely days planned :) The beach was windy but not too cold and DS had the best time :)

Signal here is really rubbish so I can't read back through, sorry!

Cross stitches are coming on quickly, you're putting mine to shame, I'm so slow!

Whoever was looking at books, have you read the Annie Sanders book The Xmas Factor? I read it every year, it's very predicable but has that cost feeling.

I really like Ogmore (I'm assuming that was either most or mrsmad) and I actually prefer going when it's a bit colder.

We're leaving the lakes now, going to Gretna Green, somewhere I've always wanted to go but haven't had chance until now 😊

CrazyBaubles · 01/08/2020 12:15

Oh dear. The book is predictable but has that cosy feeling Xmas Blush

That'll teach me for trying to post quickly before the signal disappeared!

FireflyGirl · 01/08/2020 12:23

Ooh, enjoy Crazy. Gretna was on my list of wedding venues, but the enchanted fairy dell won out Wink

CrazyBaubles · 01/08/2020 13:26

Same here, DH & I loved it but got married at a castle nearer home (known as the fairytale castle around here)

We've just arrived at Gretna. I'm so excited!

Mrsmadevans · 01/08/2020 14:32

@FireflyGirl

There's Carnglaze Caverns near Liskeard, former slate mine with underground lake set in beautiful surroundings, on private land.

Disclaimer, I may be slightly biased - that's where DH and I got married Grin

How beautiful Smile
Mrsmadevans · 01/08/2020 14:48

Boot Bob's cats are awful , birds , meeces and voles have no hope there, evil little shit bags ! They are gorgeous really but terrible killing machines ! Hmm

HairsprayBabe · 01/08/2020 16:41

Just popped to lush to get the sexbomb bath bomb (Clary sage) and I think they felt a bit sorry for me because they gave me the matching shower gel for free!

Good vibes please I want this baby to be born soon so I am home and somewhat comfortable by the time we have to move on Thursday 😂 oh my god what have I done 😬

pussycatinboots · 01/08/2020 19:52

Hairspray for some reason I thought you were hoping the baby would stay put until you're in the new house 🤦‍♀️ oops.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/08/2020 20:22

So did I, Boots!

You are a brave woman Hair I have to say! Do you have a back up plan for if you are in hospital recovering or actually in labour on Thursday?

CrazyBaubles · 02/08/2020 06:57

Wishing you all the good vibes Hairspray!

CrazyBaubles · 02/08/2020 06:59

We stopped overnight in Glencoe. View is very rugged but beautiful and ddog made friends with the collie in the campervan next door which is nice.

We've decided to speak to the vet when we get back and look at getting his eye removed - it keeps randomly swelling up and irritating him which just isn't fair.

Not actually sure of our plan today (I'm too tired to remember what it is) so I'm going to try and get an extra hour now 🥱

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 02/08/2020 07:04

Sounds like you are having a fab time crazy :)

pussycatinboots · 02/08/2020 07:51

Crazy glad DDog is having fun making new friends even with his sore eye. Could you try for a second opinion with a different, bigger vets practice?

NoWordForFluffy · 02/08/2020 08:10

(I know it's duplication, but this one is in bold so it's easier to find tomorrow!)

Morning!

Crazy, sounds like you're having a lovely time! Glencoe is stunning, so I'm Envy of you staying there!

If Ddog has lost his sight, keeping the eye is for cosmetic purposes, isn't it? If it's causing bother, then I agree with you re seeing about having it removed.

It's allotment day here. I'm already knackered though. Should be fun. Not!

I think recovering in hospital might be the best place during a house move: stay totally out of the way! 😂

HairsprayBabe · 02/08/2020 10:01

My mum, my dad DH mum, a very good friend of mine, my brother his GF my sister and his gf are all chipping in to help - we are basically packed to if I am in labour DH can collect keys and everyone else can just move stuff and go...
In theory...

I will be 42 weeks exactly on the moving date so could reasonably still be pregnant - bit then the consultants will want to be involved.

I don't know what is better to do at the minute - I am still not struggling with feeling huge or knackered so maybe it is better if baby stays put?

Bath Bomb seemed to do sweet FA though 😂

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 02/08/2020 10:39

Sounds like you have plenty of help Hair :) I actually think best thing would be to be in labour on moving day so your family do it all and you come home to your new house all unpacked :)

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 02/08/2020 10:40

Popped to the allotment and very happy with my haul :)
