Just woken up and it's dreary and grey outside.
I've made a pumpkin spice tea and have been shopping for new leather ankle boots for September.

I'm with you on this one. By far the best time of year!

crazyhairbear · 18/07/2020 08:50

I felt the same too as I drove into work. I love autumn Grin

Yutes · 18/07/2020 09:02

Crisp mornings. Hot tea. Scarfs.

KetoIFWinnie · 18/07/2020 09:03

I'm dying a load of washed out pale pink and cream jumpers and t-shirts 'Rust' later so I must be walking on the same page!

Willowmartha1 · 18/07/2020 14:33

Love love love autumn !!

BumpkinSpiceBatty · 18/07/2020 15:11

Glad it's not just me! I ordered a pair of boots and then some more apple spiced tea to keep me going over the holidays.
Going to watch you've got mail tonight to indulge this feeling! "I would send you a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils" BlushGrin

Me 2! My fav time of year

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/07/2020 17:40

I don't need new boots (I've got two pairs in the wardrobe that I haven't worn yet !)

I made some bread (delicious) and soup ( Carrot & Coriander - I don't put cream in it ) starts me thinking about winter comfort foods .

DH and I had the best Chinese takeaway last week, so I've writtenthe name of the resturant in my 2020 planner - we have a takeout on the 23rd as Tradition.

I might make bread on Christmas Eve for toast - I don't eat bread regularly so when I do , it has to be Epic Xmas Grin

I am so excited that it is only two weeks until Autumn :)

Dreaming of falling leaves

RestorationInsanity · 19/07/2020 15:54

Ah my people! I love autumn and winter. I find the desperation to enjoy every moment of summer sunshine in the UK a bit chaotic and overwhelming. Much prefer the slowness and routine of autumn and winter. Currently 5 months pregnant, DC1 due 4 December and am really looking forward to some massive jumpers and cost knit dresses to dress the bump!

Fcukthisshit · 19/07/2020 18:25

Same here. I’m dreaming about long walks through the leaves in the woods and coming home to a slow cooker stew and dumplings. I’ve already started ordering the kids their cosy winter PJ’s.

I can't wait for Autumn; but surely it's not two weeks away?? Wish it was...

Yes, this! I don't really enjoy summer because of this reason. The pressure to be outside the minute the sun comes out is exhausting. I love that the days come to a natural end at dinner time and then we just relax at home. At the moment the kids are loving the picnics, paddling pool and playing at the local park but I'm so over it now Grin

@Thisismytimetoshine meteorological autumn is September, October, November, so sadly we have to wait!

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 19/07/2020 21:25

Sorry I meant 6 weeks!

RestorationInsanity · 19/07/2020 22:16

@Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear I can totally see why you were wishing those extra 4 weeks away! Am consoling myself with the fact that that's four more weeks of warmth for my pumpkins, which will then epitomise autumn!

Wowcherarestalkingme · 19/07/2020 22:22

I am so looking forward to autumn. Can’t wait to get my cable knit jumpers out and watch Christmas films while it rains outside (Christmas starts early in my house) definitely my favourite time of year

NeonPink · 19/07/2020 23:20

Yes, yes yes! This is my favourite time of year! I'm getting excited thinking about it.

xmummy2princesx · 19/07/2020 23:36

I have just ordered my DS1 sum wellies! I’m a SAHM and can’t wait 2 hear the rain in the morningS and have a cosy day in with the kids

VanillaSpiceCandle · 20/07/2020 13:25

I love autumn, my favourite season. Mostly the anticipation of winter.

I really want to dress my house more for autumn this year. I have a love of pumpkins but want to expand on it. Does anyone else dress their house for autumn?

KangarooIsland · 20/07/2020 15:01

I love Autumn! I find September is often sunnier than August, but with that slight crispness in the air as the temperature cools and the leaves begin to turn. It’s also my birthday! Then the cosiness of scarves and hats, frosty mornings, darker evenings so my candles can come out, the excitement of Bonfire Night (big event in our family) and the countdown the Christmas with all it’s sparkle. I just love it!

Mrsfussypants1 · 20/07/2020 15:50

I dress my house for autumn, my local asda were putting out autumn scents candles. Cozy bedding in autumnal colours with large velvet throw for the bed, cushion covers get swapped out for different textures (felt, wool etc) in layering shades of neutrals. I'll be looking to buy read diffusers with matching candles in autumnal scents in the next few weeks. I have a stash of new autumn loungewear I'd bought in next/asda sale at Christmas. Really looking forward to putting a set I got from next on, beige with little foxes on a curling up under my new velvet throw and reading an eerie book on my kindle with a hot chocolate in hand.

BumpkinSpiceBatty · 20/07/2020 16:07

Does anyone have a recommendation for a delicious autumn reed diffuser? I'm not too keen on sickly sweet ones but spicy or dark fruit notes would be great.
