I just noticed we only have 20 posts left and I'm off to the allotment! So here is thread 7!

Watching "Back in time for Tea" on BBC2. Their dinner set is the same pattern as one of my Mums old casserole dishes. I recognise most of the utensils and the breadbin too Blush
The Teacosy is fab!

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/07/2020 19:33

I have a thing for knitting tea cosies. I knitted a sailor one for my BIL's sea cadets group and somewhere down on my to do list is a ballroom dancer cosy for my brother and SIL. Maybe next year,,,

MarshmallowManiac · 15/07/2020 19:36

Haha definitely Fluffy Grin will get my trusty tape measure in the morning.

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 19:36

I always wanted one in the shape of a cottage or a beehive Grin

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 19:48

Oops...I appear to have fallen down a tea cozy rabbit hole Grin

Crazy These are for you

They're amazing!

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/07/2020 19:53

Have you got a teapot Boots? This fits a 6-8 cup pot. It looks like the bee is added via an appliqué or maybe a button would do nicely.

Typical! It said it hadn't posted. Apologies for the double post folks.

CrazyBaubles · 15/07/2020 19:57

Our landlady is ok. She leaves us to it, we barely hear from her unless we need her for something.
Our house is also lovely, it's just the location and the garden which is rubbish (it's a split level garden - lower is flat but gets almost no sun and top is wonky and has lots of brambles.

CrazyBaubles · 15/07/2020 19:57

puss I will do some research on the birds but I haven't seen them close up.

The tea cosies are beautiful 😍
I unfortunately dropped and smashed my teapot a while ago and am still looking for a new one (it needs to hold 2-3 cups of tea, no more, no less and not £££). Then maybe I'll attempt to make the one with the horns...

CrazyBaubles · 15/07/2020 19:58

Woolly I would be scared for ddogs safety if we had big birds here - he's little but he is quite heavy which would go in his favour I suppose.

Fluffy those bookmarks are so cute.
I want to make a bookmark for my friend but I'm edging towards a crochet one rather than cross stitch unless I maybe end up doing both

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 19:59

I think mine is a bit smaller, 4-6 cups, but it is yellow Grin I have a knitting pattern for bees.

CrazyBaubles · 15/07/2020 20:00

I almost forgot - cross stitch update...

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/07/2020 20:02

Are you anywhere near The Range Crazy? They've got a £4.99 two cup tea pot. The one on the website is black but I'm sure they've had then in other colours in store.

I did look at Dunelm but they are a bit spendy.

NoWordForFluffy · 15/07/2020 20:11

Crazy, you might find it easier with a bigger hoop. I did it in a 12 inch one, but that's sometimes a bit big, so I've now also bought a 10 inch one. I've not tried it yet though.

Loving the tea cosies. We're using our nativity one from Woolly all year!

Do you want a Christmas tea pot, Boots? I can send you ours. It's too small for us!

Woolly I'm not down a teapot black hole

I've looked at:
Denby
Spode
Matalan
Sainsbury's
The range
Debenhams
Tesco home
Emma Bridgewater
TK Maxx

There are some beautiful ones...

CrazyBaubles · 15/07/2020 20:25

Fluffy I've been thinking a bigger hoop may help.

Do you have a pic of your tea cosy?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/07/2020 20:43

Ooh TeaPots

I have a teeny dark green one cup pot and a stainless steel one ( from the Range ) which is a brilliant pourer .
Nothing worse than a dribbler .

I only started drinking tea when I went to . ( they wouldn't let me have coffee , )
We buy Yorkshire tea

On the house front - DH and I bought our house 30 years ago.
Since then- new roof, boiler, bathroom, new kitchen+utility in extension+dining room , downstairs loo , windows all been replaced ...
My DC have only been in this house , my DD (18) has decided her DC will have her room when they visit (she plans to leave him with me when she goes out on ver' ver' important Lawyer Business . Xmas Grin parties )

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/07/2020 20:47

That should read when I went to Turkey

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 20:49

That's very kind but DH won't use it after the handle incident of 2012.

I used to own a very nice (quite expensive) one-cup teapot that sat in a matching cup with a saucer.
I would use it in an afternoon while DH was at work.
One evening, after we'd eaten our meal. I washed up it's always me that washes
DH dried all the pots/crocks ect.
There was a loud smashing noise.
He turned to me holding just a handle.

I don't really need to explain the rest, do I?

NoWordForFluffy · 15/07/2020 20:53

Here's the cosy, Crazy. It's ace!
