I just noticed we only have 20 posts left and I'm off to the allotment! So here is thread 7!

I can answer that one Boots. He's Katie Price's eldest son. He has multiple health issues and is currently in hospital in ICU.

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/07/2020 17:23

Obviously I was answering question 1 there Boots.

I don't think anyone - least of all MrsMad - can fathom the answer to number 2.

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 17:24
  1. Anyone got mind-bleach?
pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 17:26

fluffy did you have to mention brown so close to the suppository?

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 17:28

We were very lucky with our landlords. First house was a 2-up, 2-down which we rented from DH's work colleague, nice enough but cramped even with just the two of us, and it had a downstairs bathroom which I didn't like. We then moved to a commuter village when I got a new job out of town, and the house was nice enough but it had a wood fire that I hated and the dining table was in the conservatory which was too hot or cold to use for at least half of the year! Landlord lived abroad and let through an agency, who were quite good at fixing/replacing anything that broke. I sent an email to the owner directly after we left, though, because my uncle who helped us move is a builder and pointed out there was damp in the wall, but the agency fobbed me off.

It was a beautiful house, with a huge garden, which would have been amazing for long-term renters or if you owned it. We only really used the patio just outside the back door, the flower beds which were near the house (where I appropriated the alpine strawberries from when we moved) and the washing line.

I made a point when we were looking for somewhere to buy that it would be a 'forever' home, not somewhere we lived for a couple of years until we had a family!

Crazy
about your feathered visitors... you need to learn their GISS
(General impression of size and shape Wink)

although they're probably sparrows Grin

FireflyGirl · 15/07/2020 17:40

boots we've seen a lot of tits around here recently. Think lockdown has brought them out Wink

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 17:43

Woolly I had 12 months of Diclofenac, Tramadol and Amitriptyline. You have my sympathy, as after that cocktail I couldn't even cross the road on my own!

MarshmallowManiac · 15/07/2020 17:43

Yes there's a lot of tits round here too Grin in the human form

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/07/2020 17:48

This is a very poor photo taken last week on full zoom leaning out of my bedroom window. I'm pretty sure it's a sparrow hawk casually perching on the wall across the road. We often get red kites circling overhead. Those buggers are big and noisy when they call out to each other. Really glad we don't have any pets.

Woolly Your Mum 😮😲🤬 How very dare she!!
Well done with your MIL.
Your DHs Golden Balls are a credit to you Grin

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 17:56

Firefly Oh dear. Maybe he just didn't like DH trousers? everyone's a critic Wink
Charlie peed in his carrier when I took him to the vet a few weeks back.

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 18:08

Woolly Thanks, sorry - don't really follow celebs. Hopefully the poor lad will be home soon.

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 18:11

Firefly yes, there are very many tits around here too.
We had our first Blackbird fledglings today, closely guarded by their parents. They soon got the hang of the sultanas I chuck on the lawn for them.

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 18:13

Woolly That looks like a female Sparrowhawk. They're bigger than the male and have a cream speckled front, the males are smaller with a rust coloured front. Unfortunately one nicked a starling from our garden a couple of days ago, so I seem to have become a bit of an expert. Sad

NoWordForFluffy · 15/07/2020 18:37

Tits? Bloody loads everywhere. Can't move for them! Humans, I've not seen bird tits!

I didn't know who Harvey was either.

Marshmallow, that peeping courgette will be a marrow by tomorrow night. Keep an eye out!

Boots, I need to talk mounting with you. 😁

That is cross stitch book marks. A) have you made any before and b) what do you do with them to hide the back? Or don't you? What would you do / have you done?

I'm doing these for my parents for Christmas.

Really Fluffy it still looks so small, should I pick it?

MarshmallowManiac · 15/07/2020 18:44

Just went out and saw a couple more! Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/07/2020 18:50

Marshmellow Tesco charge a flipping fortune for baby cucumbers. They are obviously a prize amongst green things.

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/07/2020 18:51

Sorry I got your name wrong Marshmallow

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 18:53

fluffy not done that type, only ones with the stitching set into a card.
I'd suggest backing the stitching with iron on interfacing once complete to prevent loose threads/fraying. Also maybe machine stitch around the design before you do the red 1 stitch border? so it only frays a bit iyswim.
You might need Biddy or Woolly to give you some pointers.

pussycatinboots · 15/07/2020 18:56

or you could stitch a plain piece of aida on the back using the border to attach it? If you need white in either 18 or 14ct i've loads.

I had considered that one. I have some spare that mum gave me ages ago, so will do that.
