Couldn’t resist the title given the chatter about the hampers. Cross fingers they arrive and are fantastic or that refunds are fast and painless.

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

I also want to say thanks for the solar system lights so impressive as the box they come in is quite large.

girlsyearapart · 09/11/2019 11:15

handmade and imsorry thanks so much.
Those stickers are great might send some in to school - his Xmas card proof came home yesterday and the tree is red...

  • Jacopone had you written down exactly what was got from where or just the places?

If it's just the places I would not worry too much.

Raindancer411 · 09/11/2019 11:25

If just places then just ideas of places to shop

recklessgran · 09/11/2019 11:26

@Beautician I've pm'd you.

Juicyfrooty · 09/11/2019 11:29

I'm looking to get dd a sprocket, Amazon and a few other shops have it at £69 at the moment, is it likely to drop any cheaper than this for black friday?

margaritasbythesea · 09/11/2019 11:29

paddingtonbearhardstare - staring at you! Thread baby and not mention it? Waaaaah!

Sneezein3s · 09/11/2019 11:29

@Howmanysleepsnow Labyrinth is a fab game for a 7 year old - simple enough to master and enough chance elements that a 7 year old can successfully play against adults and win without needing any help (ds2 got it when he was 7 regularly beat us and teenage cousins at family gatherings and everyone had fun, we weren’t playing a child’s game to humour him if you see what I mean.

Other games that he loved at that age (and still does) are Rush Hour (I usually get him a new set of puzzle cards to update it each year) and the Smarter Games sets like IQ focus and the complete one that you can do the puzzles 3 ways that I can’t remember the name of - cost about £10 each. This year I got him Blokus from Amazon that was recommended on here for about £10 which I reckon would work for your ds too.

Other games that work well are Yahtzee, Pass the Pigs and Othello - all been around for a long time - for good reason!

@recklessgran thank you, I really appreciate it. I've gone for this dress. I'm excited to go to a winter wedding.

Sorry to bring up the leapfrog Icecream cart again but I'm dithering a lot!! My dd will be 3 a few weeks before xmas so we need birthday and xmas presents. But I can't decide if it is worth while. It's quite big so I want something that will be used not just sat around if you know what I mean.

Jacopone · 09/11/2019 11:38

I’m afraid I put things as well.. Not with everything but first on the list was Hollister hoodie, then some just brands and some brands and items. The list was long as it was for all of family. Not written very carefully but still legible. I cannot even remember it well as grabbed it and pretended I didn’t recognize it... (lame atttempt, I know). I just put so much effort into this (many thanks to all of you who gave me splendid ideas, codes, bargains) that I now feel I cannot think even of a single item that I could add as a true surprise.

MulticolourTriangles · 09/11/2019 11:39

My DDs aged 2.5 and 4.5 love the leapfrog icecream cart, it's one of the toys they play with every single day without fail.

wibdib · 09/11/2019 11:40

@Howmanysleepsnow forgot to say I have just bought a lovely dressing gown for ds1 from Sainsbury’s in the 25% off sale (over now sorry). It’s about £26 - silky soft plush on the outside and thick cosy warm Sherpa style fleece on the inside... looks much warmer than his previous towelling dressing gown.

There was also the cheap grey herringbone one mentioned on a previous thread from an expensive shop that was a nice summer weight.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 09/11/2019 11:41

@Ewock ds4 aged 4 had the leapfrog ice cream cart for his birthday and loves it. Ds3 aged 6 also plays with it. So it gets plenty of use here.

This Crayola set is on offer today at amazon

I don't have a code @BeauticianNotMagician81 but might be worth checking if what you want from Oasis is available at Debenhams, most stuff seems to be 20% off until Sunday.

Ewock · 09/11/2019 11:45

Thanks multicolourtriangles. It does look good and it's the only thing she has asked for and keeps asking for. With the Argos discount code it's a good price.

Ewock · 09/11/2019 11:46

Thanks Beauticianmagician. Looks like a winner

SilverLinings2014 · 09/11/2019 11:50

Anyone with role play/small world loving children up to 5 or 6 the Melissa and Doug Thirst Quencher Dispenser, a toy drinks maker, is bargainous on Amazon here.

My almost 2 and almost 5 year old both love it and always make a bee line for it at our local stay and play, as do all the other kids. I've been watching it for months and it's always been £25, so £16 is a steal.

Themazeoflife · 09/11/2019 11:50

Jacopone
Will still be a surprise as they have no idea what was for them or what colour and design you bought.
They might know they are getting a hoodie but no idea which one.
You could get a few more little bits if you can afford to but don't worry about the rest.

EvilHerbivore · 09/11/2019 11:53

Box of crayons goodies nearly half price - think they have the colours on too

Jacopone · 09/11/2019 11:58

Perhaps I could add some board game for them. Does anyone have any firm recommendation for a visually beautiful game? (we have Stone Age and many other standard ones from childhood, it needs to be for teens).

caslammityjane · 09/11/2019 11:59

Any leftover gruum codes, please? 😍

caslammityjane · 09/11/2019 12:00

Jacopone have you heard of Dixit?

BigmouseLittlehouse · 09/11/2019 12:01

Hello everyone.

I think some threads back someone mentioned some paint your own Christmas tree decorations? If anyone could remind me I’d be very grateful.

My DS has a December birthday and wants a winter wonderland theme ( turning 5). So if anyone has any other ideas of activities or decorations that would be good I’d be very grateful!
