Who's already started on their 'treats' for Christmas?
I like to start buying a few things with the weekly shop and whenever I see anything on offer that we always eat, means it doesn't seem as bad looking at the receipt discovering I've spent £££s on junk!

So far I've got:
2 x Cheeselets (Treeslets) caddys
2 x Victoria biscuits box
1 x Cadburys & oreo biscuit box
2 x Matchmakers
3 x Chocolate Oranes
1 x box of chocolate covered lebkuchen
1 x Quality Street bag

What's your favourite Christmas treat? Grin

sainsbury 25% off 6 bottles offer is due, so the wine will be bought next

DM's favourite chocolates to be ordered off amazon in November

Ninkaninus · 26/10/2019 00:38

@Dontsayyouloveme it’s these, you can usually get them in Morrisons or Asda. They’re cheap and cheerful but we have to have them at Christmas, it’s the law! Xmas Grin

Gingerbread gin liqueur and Prosecco, let's see if we can refrain from open before Christmas... Also preordered the M&S advent calendar

@CountFosco would you share your dairy-free chocolate crinkles recipe? DS2 is dairy-free (plus other allergies) so am always on the lookout for good recipes to try and haven’t fount a good chocolatey biscuit recipe yet!

wineisnecessary · 26/10/2019 10:13

@TrickyD my husband frequently buys the twin peaks but not the white one , think I'll have to buy myself one today Grin

CountFosco · 26/10/2019 10:54

Proper nougat.
Fruitcake from Hawes.
Lovely crackers for cheese. My cheese is on order.
12 different bottles of gin ( in fairness we always keep 10 in)
We are eating out Xmas Eve and Day so haven't got much food to buy.

Shitfuckoh · 26/10/2019 16:15

@AuntieMarys you always keep 10 bottles of gin in?! Can I come to your house? Grin

I’m on holiday over Christmas and just bought secret decorations Crackers (without snaps for flight reasons) and Christmas hats to stuff in suitcase. Thankfully holiday itself is the big present for all so I’m hoping Present shopping will be minimal this year.

likeridingabike · 27/10/2019 08:01

I've ordered several boxes of chocolate from Thornton's, some are for presents (also personalised chocolate Elves and stocking fillers) they had some good deals, I got a free box of their Christmas selection which is for the house and free p&p. Also for the house chocolate covered marzipans 😋

Today's job is to sort out Christmas present and goodies storage, I've got things tucked away all over. Also need to check wrapping supplies.

Shitfuckoh · 27/10/2019 10:34

@AuntieMarys name is a long story but I'm in a much better place now and I promise I won't swear Grin
@likeridingabike I've been tempted by the 3 for 2 offer and a few other things from Rhorntons but i've resisted so far as I just know they won't make it for Christmas gifts, I just have that feeling Grin but the 5 for £25 offer on the advents is superb.. so no doubt if the offer is still on when i order those they may just sneak in to my basket!

shitfuckoh That's always the danger, I've already lost a chocolate orange to a hormonal teenager.

I just started today :

Tin of celebrations
Box of biscuits
Christmas pudding
Six bottles of wine
Sloe gin

This month we will eat the contents of the freezer to make way for the sausage and bacon for PIBs, meat etc, which will be bought from November's pay. October's shopping list is pantry items that will keep.

I'm excited because this year we have a chest freezer in the garage so I've started filling that with desserts and some extra special stuffing and es cauliflower cheese. Nice to have the space to start prepping

likeridingabike · 27/10/2019 17:07

I'm after a small chest freezer for the pantry, I'm planning to order a Christmas meat hamper from the butchers, some of will need to be frozen for new year and I don't have room in my upright, although I've started running it down.

I'll be having a big food shop delivered on Christmas Eve and most goodies will be coming in that, we're a small household and won't be having many visitors so we don't need big tins of chocolates and things like that.
