Who's already started on their 'treats' for Christmas?
I like to start buying a few things with the weekly shop and whenever I see anything on offer that we always eat, means it doesn't seem as bad looking at the receipt discovering I've spent £££s on junk!

So far I've got:
2 x Cheeselets (Treeslets) caddys
2 x Victoria biscuits box
1 x Cadburys & oreo biscuit box
2 x Matchmakers
3 x Chocolate Oranes
1 x box of chocolate covered lebkuchen
1 x Quality Street bag

What's your favourite Christmas treat? Grin

@Mummyilovejokes1 thanks for that. Will look in there soon. ☺️

I got some danish butter cookies from Aldi. But tbh I mainly bought them the tin

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2019 17:43

Is it the cute little tin which they had last year? We got through far too many cookies last year; they're amazing!

Shitfuckoh · 24/10/2019 18:09

I never used to be keen on Danish butter cookies but I haven't tried them since I was (much!) younger so may get some this year to see if that's changed

Like pp I tend to get a one or two items in the weekly shop to put aside. So far I have:

Speculoos biscuits in a tin
Jar of salted caramel sauce
Big box of Cadbury snowy finger (half milk / half white chocolate finger)
Holdsworth Espresso martini chocolates
Ham and cola crisps
I've frozen some pancakes to have christmas morning in the toaster
Adult pop like Appletise, bitter lemon and mint, Shloer.

mummymayhem18 · 24/10/2019 21:00

I have bought so far:
2 x jars of Asda finest mincemeat as it's gorgeous
Cranberry sauce 🤣
2 x boxes of mint matchmakers
2 x boxes of orange matchmakers
After Eights
Terrys Choc Orange
Box of Malteser truffles
Galaxy truffles
Tub of Cadbury Heroes
We ate a tub of Quality Street 🤣🤫

Shitfuckoh · 24/10/2019 21:09

@mummymayhem18 I don't find Quality Street as nice as they used to be! Did you end up with all the 'pennies' left over?!

We went to John Lewis today to buy a personalised Quality Street tin. No toffees at all in our tin as all the DC have braces at the moment. Lots of green triangles and fruit creams Xmas Smile

wineisnecessary · 24/10/2019 23:02

I live white toblerone at Christmas, I've been eyeing them up but I know if I buy one I'll eat it . So no much nearer to Christmas for me to buy treats.

wineisnecessary · 24/10/2019 23:03

Love not live .

TrickyD · 24/10/2019 23:20

wineisnecessary, Poundland do their own white chocolate "Toblerone" called "Twin Peaks" . Better than the original, big bars too.

makingmiracles · 25/10/2019 00:18

About 7 boxes of matchmakers, all the different flavours!
Some lebruaken(sp) mixed and the large ones from aldi(does anyone wish they still did just the plain white ones instead of mixed with choc ones? Love the white ones!)
2bott,es of straw and cream baileys
2bottles ballycastle faileys
Pretzel stars, two bags
Lots of different flavoured share bag crisps like steak and cheese and rosemary Andy stuffing, about 8 bags as dp is a crisp fiend!
One big box of shortbread-never get given any so buying myself this
Yr!
One tin of butter biscuits with polar bears and music, possibly the most expensive biccies I’ve ever bought but I really wanted the tin!
3 pks of Oreos

Think that’s about it so far, just adding bits weekly as and when I see or if on offer!

PersonaNonGarter · 25/10/2019 06:52

2x boxes of M&S chocolates
2x boxes of M&S Belgium biscuits

I have to hide them away in a non-kitchen cupboard or they’d be over before Advent.

I8toys · 25/10/2019 09:04

Just found irish cream French fancies

Rusty - just added Speculoos to my basket

mummymayhem18 · 25/10/2019 09:16

@Shitfuckoh . Yes we don't really eat the toffees. My favourites are the strawberry and orange creams and the coconut eclair 😋. Last year though my husband bought me one of the tins that you can choose your favourites so you aren't left with any you don't like. 👍

RustyParker · 25/10/2019 18:27

I8toys Speculoos spread or biscuits? I keep eyeing the speculoos biscuits so I doubt they'd even make it to December Grin

I8toys · 25/10/2019 18:42

Biscuits. There's a spread?

RustyParker · 25/10/2019 21:20

Are you in the UK I8toys? Speculoos is, i believe, the continental European version of Biscoff Lotus spread in the UK. Be warned however, it is crack in a jar!!

Lotus spread

I8toys · 25/10/2019 21:23
Smile
JessicaRarebit · 25/10/2019 21:53

Well I did buy some Christmas chocolate but my dp and I after a night out pissed opened the tin and snaffled half of the contents so we vowed to wait until at least December.

DP is a bit of a chocolate snob so he’ll want some posh chocolate Côte d’Or most likely. I on the other hand would be happy with a tin of Cadbury’s heroes.

My Christmas cake has been made and I’m thinking of making fudge, peppermint creams, mince pies and mini chocolate logs.

Cheese and gin will be consumed by the truckload at our house so I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for some nice offerings.

Dontsayyouloveme · 25/10/2019 21:57

Four boxes of the chocolate creams from Aldi - rose, orange, violet and strawberry. Need to get the mint ones! And the candy can peppermint gin liquor!
