My favourite part of the festive season! What are your favourites? Has anyone got any of this year's festive editions? I have plenty stashed from last year, mainly ones bought in the sales, such as Neom and Crabtree and Evelyn Noel which is my favourite. I missed out on Diptyque last year, some of the festive editions are still really pricey on Ebay, are they worth it? Do Diptyque do a decent sale?
Have just bought The Whire Company Roasted Chestnut to add to my stash Blush

i have this pine scented one from last year (strictly burn it in December only to try and make it last) and it smells gorgeous. i havent tried the brands you mentioned but am going to look into them now Grin

lotusbell · 30/09/2019 21:25

@sleepismysuperpower1, oh don't! You'll hate me for sucking you in! Grin
There are candles and there are festive candles...
Crabtree and Evelyn have gone a bit rubbish now so dont know if there will he a festive range from them and I think it's a bit early for Neom to be showcasing the Christmas range yet, but I Googled "Christmas candles 2019" and there are a few articles with reviews so I'm getting giddy!

Already looking! Some neom delights I've seen on John Lewis ... pretty too! Think I'll be getting all 3 💗

Babypug · 30/09/2019 21:32

www.johnlewis.com/neom-organics-london-christmas-scented-candle-gift-set/p4237130

Check them out, obviously getting the bigger versions of each!

lotusbell · 30/09/2019 21:42

They are last year's scents, @Babypug and they're all gorgeous! My OH bought me the 3 wick Precious Moments and it's lovely, nearly all gone now but I went in blind with that choice and now that I've had all 3 Blush, I prefer the Perfect Peace one although Christmas Wish is your typical orange and cinnamon type of festive scent!

I'm aware I'm coming across as obsessive...

I love candles but feel like a complete novice after reading all the posts Blush I'd love to get a couple of small-medium size Christmassy ones but I don't know where to start! I think I'm drawn to sweet smells? Are the more expensive ones worth the price?

Babypug · 30/09/2019 21:49

@22Giraffes I've gotta say I've worked my way up through the price ranges and I've gotta say they're worth it. Cheaper brands just don't last (smell) and don't have the layering to create the ambiance.

Tulipvase · 30/09/2019 21:49

As a mid range candle - John Lewis’ own winter spice is nice. I burn winter type fragrances all year round to be honest.

Babypug · 30/09/2019 21:50

@lotusbell I'm behind on the neom Christmas scents (I'm shocked!) looks like I'm going to have to get them all this year for sure! Also need to check out jo malone and jo loves as that's another favourite of mine.

TheRedFox · 30/09/2019 21:51

I love "Pomander" by Diptyque - definitely the smell of Christmas for me!

lotusbell · 30/09/2019 21:57

I wish I could afford Jo Loves and Diptyque, there are so many gorgeous scents! I've just paid about 18 pound for a small Diptyque Amand candle, I'd splurge hundreds if I had it to spare! Definitely worth splashing out a bit more but I baulk at £30/40, never mind the even more expensive ones! Money to burn, literally! But I dont drink or smoke, so... Grin

@Babypug thanks, I have noticed the cheap ones don't smell for very long! I need to do some real life Xmas shopping so I'll see what I can find, exciting!

clucky3 · 30/09/2019 22:24

I love a woodwick candle for Xmas. I've not quite finished the one I got last year (called fireside), they usually have them on 3 for 2 in the boots sale in the run up so I stocked up on a few last year but haven't enjoyed the summery ones as much as the more wintery scents.

The hearthwick range make a lovely crackly noise like a real fire, so cosy for winter nights.

Fstar · 30/09/2019 22:51

Have you tried slatkin? Qvc have some, they make candles for bath and body works in US, really nice. Molton brown also do fab candles

PersonaNonGarter · 30/09/2019 23:21

I love the Diptyque pine-y ones. Completely different from the ‘pine fresh bathroom’ type pine smell.

HJWT · 30/09/2019 23:25

I buy all of my candles on FB! Bath and Body works selling page UK, most is air hostess that go to America and pick them up and sell them over her, can be a bit pricey (£22-24 posted each) but the scent fills the whole house and they burn so evenly ! Wouldn't go near Yankee Candle etc again!

Currently have Leaves in the hallway & Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow in the living room 😍 can't wait to get some christmas scents!

HJWT · 30/09/2019 23:28

I get all my candles of Sean now! If you go on the bath & body works website and screen shot. What you want he can get it x

Thanks for your great suggestions and ideas! Going to look out for Molton Brown this year, I missed out on Muddled Plum last year.
Great idea about Bath and Body Works, I have a friend who is an air hostess and loves that shop so will have a chat with her and see if she will bring me some back!

Woodwick Hot Toddy mmmm

Eren28 · 01/10/2019 10:07

I use partylite candles, there not too expensive but have no chemicals in them( my friend got me into them) spiced chi, and pumpkin spice are my favourite at the moment Smile

DreamingofSunshine · 01/10/2019 10:40

@TheRedFox good to know, I've got a mini pomander in a diptyque selection box so I'll save it for December.

Space NK tend to do a nice festive candle. Or I buy in liberty or selfridges 20% off.

DreamingofSunshine · 01/10/2019 11:37

John Lewis have 20% off candles at the moment.

lotusbell · 01/10/2019 12:01

Feeling the festive candle love, going to have a browse now!

I'm surprised Yankee Candle hasn't come up on this thread - are they not popular now?
