Booths are releasing their Christmas book on 18th October! The start of my Christmas is sitting down and dreaming of getting everything in it.

I married the name so like to pretend am shopping in my own personal shop whenever we are up North!!! Queen Booth ha ha ha

Whitecandle · 01/10/2019 15:04

@Fluffiest omg I wanna go so bad!!! My closest one is 165 miles/3hr50mins away google tells me.... 😫😫😫

Fluffiest · 01/10/2019 15:21

Oh @whitecandle, that's a shame. You'll have to find a good local farm shop to get your fancy but rustic food fix! If it makes you feel any better, I have never even stepped in to a waitrose so I don't know what I'm missing there! Also I rarely buy groceries from Booths, just use the cafe and buy treat booze or nibbles now and then.

Whitecandle · 01/10/2019 15:30

@Fluffiest I am looking into moving out of wales.. maybe I should head up north just for booths 😅

WingDefence · 01/10/2019 15:39

I'm now wondering whether any of you lot live near me! @issano I'm thinking you might be nearest unless you're 30 mins south of Preston Grin

lotusbell · 01/10/2019 16:09

I'm near Chorley Grin

Passportpacked · 01/10/2019 16:22

Cannot wait for the book I have four Booths within a short distance from me We ordered our whole pre prepared Christmas dinner last year which was wonderful and they have amazing quince jelly on the cheese counter. My friends down south think I'm making it all up and that such a place does'nt exist

bellinisurge · 01/10/2019 16:43

Selfridges at the Trafford Centre or in Central Manchester is a "fur coat and no knickers " establishment by comparison. And, as I have already said, it makes Waitrose look like Nisa.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2019 17:35

@WingDefence, I've not seen you around for ages!

(I'm the one who lives near your SiL; I've name-changed since we last interacted, I think!)

WingDefence · 01/10/2019 18:20

@NoWordForFluffy from the old JSing freds?! Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 01/10/2019 18:33

Yep! Those were the days! 😂

MrsCasares · 01/10/2019 19:50

It’s a local shop for local people!!!

Love Booths. We have a few near us.

lotusbell · 12/10/2019 23:33

Just noticed they're doing a little competition on their Instagram and Facebook pages, think closing date is tomorrow x

NoWordForFluffy · 13/10/2019 07:24

I got invited to the launch evening, but can't go, sadly. DH and the DCs are going to collect our copies after school!

ScapaFlo · 17/10/2019 15:40

It's out tomorrow 👏

Ilikesweetpeas · 17/10/2019 22:55

I've found my people! I'm excited to be going to the Christmas launch tomorrow. My work colleagues think I'm crazy

Bowerbird5 · 18/10/2019 05:05

I was in one on Monday. DH is going fell walking 🚶‍♀️ so I will ask him to bring me one on the way back.

Wasn’t that impressed with the cheesecake ( bought for buffet) but the lemon tart is like homemade.
I live within an hour and a half of five and shop at Cranston’s regularly. Bought some braising steak recently and it was like cutting butter. I froze leftovers and took some to friends last night. Slow cooked in Guinness. She loved it. She lives within five minutes of Cranston’s. We get our turkey from there. Bronze bird. Three flavours of chipolatas..

Ilikesweetpeas · 18/10/2019 07:07

@Bowerbird5 Cranston's meat is certainly the best!

cccameron · 20/10/2019 07:20

Anyone got their hands on the book yet?

NoWordForFluffy · 20/10/2019 07:46

I have the book. It's lovely! I've also placed my order to make sure I got the collection slot I wanted on Christmas Eve. £90 gone! 🙈🎅🏻🎄Xmas Grin

Saucery · 20/10/2019 07:53

Book obtained, order placed! Nothing like making you feel sorted for Christmas than booking that slot and working out your plan of action for the car park Grin

bellinisurge · 20/10/2019 07:54

I usually make a special trip to get the book. And , if I am feeling flush, a packet of fancy crisps.
Last year a work pal brought me a copy in and left it on my desk. A fellow aficionado.
And I curl up at home with a cuppa and an inferior supermarket's mince pie and feel all dickensian.
Love Booths.

Ragwort · 20/10/2019 08:04

I’ ve read the EBook from cover to cover, love it, but sad there is no delivery this year. The one criteria when we retire is to move to a town with a Booths but I am not sure DH is so keen Grin. He does travel North on business so will pop in to get a few things but it’s not the same as choosing myself.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/10/2019 09:20

I love a mooch round Booths. Even at Christmas it has an air of calmness and serenity which your bog standard supermarket lacks!

Their customer service is top notch too (hi Michelle, if you're reading!). I forgot to add the £5 discount to my order and a Michelle sorted it within a couple of hours without a quibble. Love them!

NoWordForFluffy · 20/10/2019 09:21

Not 'a' Michelle. Just Michelle. Autocorrect is an idiot.
