Booths are releasing their Christmas book on 18th October! The start of my Christmas is sitting down and dreaming of getting everything in it.

OP posts:

I just love the calm atmosphere and buying cheese wrapped in brown paper!

Whitecandle · 28/09/2019 09:09

@NoWordForFluffy omg that's my idea of heaven. The closest thing I could possibly get to that is a farm shop I guess

Fluffiest · 28/09/2019 10:00

Clitheroe is still lovely, lots of independent shops and cafes, and the August food festival is foodie heaven.

I love the entrance way in Booths, there's always a seasonal display of fruit and veg in big baskets, with lots of flowers. Or a selection of wine or gin displayed on a big barrel. It's always full of textures and tempting things.

Shockers · 28/09/2019 10:03

I live a minute’s walk from a Booths and whilst I shop there almost daily, I honestly don’t get the hysteria over it. There’s far too much plastic packaging, and very little organic meat.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 10:08

Who's hysterical? We're just saying we really like it. Hyperbole, much?

sandgrown · 28/09/2019 10:21

We love the Booths cafe (afternoon tea for two only £12.50 if you have a Booths card) .I don't generally eat sausages but I love Booths thin pork . They closed our local branches unfortunately ,despite opening their first ever branch here, but we are still an easy drive from a couple of the bigger shops.

OctopusNow · 28/09/2019 10:24

Ooh thanks OP, you've just reminded me to get an new Booths card ahead of the annual, "Who lost the Booths card?!" argument.

It was him.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 28/09/2019 10:31

Argh I lost the Booths card!

supadupapupascupa · 28/09/2019 10:31

I hVent read most comments. Just signed up to the ebook. It says no national delivery this year at the bottom of the page

Ilikesweetpeas · 28/09/2019 10:35

I love Booths! I’m lucky enough to live near 3 stores. Prices mean it’s not my “go to” for basics but for quality cheese, meat and deli items its great it. In fact going now for breakfast Smile

OctopusNow · 28/09/2019 10:50

You bastard, @BobbinThreadbare123!! Grin

Sn0tnose · 28/09/2019 12:27

I’ve only just discovered Booths in the last couple of days and signed up for the catalogue, so I’m more than a little bit sad to see they won’t be delivering this year. I feel cheated!

RenardeRenarde · 28/09/2019 13:13

Yay! Can’t wait for the books to come out, it’s the best part of Christmas. I’m in Clitheroe so Booths is ruinously convenient :)

GrimDamnFanjo · 28/09/2019 14:01

Booths lover too. It's the highlight of my DHs Xmas to collect the order on Xmas eve. Love the local produce.
We have had a 3 bird roast for the last couple of years and I fancy some of the desserts this year for ease...

Defenestrator · 28/09/2019 14:08

We get our meat from Cranston's and the rest from Booths. We're very privileged. We spend a fortune on food but by heck it's good

AuntieMarys · 28/09/2019 16:23

The Ilkley one is wonderful...overlooked by the moors. It's like shopping on holiday.
The gin selection.....

BobbinThreadbare123 · 28/09/2019 17:01

I know! Sad

I live within less than 30 mins of four Boothses so I can get another card easily.

cccameron · 28/09/2019 17:19

I'm in the north west and have just discovered there's a Booths about 12 miles away which I didn't know about. Exciting news Grin. I think ill drive over with my mum tomorrow and pick up a Xmas book.

We have a couple of Waitrose nearby but they're not comparable are they? Nice enough place to do a weekly shop but nothing to write home about.

bellinisurge · 28/09/2019 17:24

@AuntieMarys , I usually go to the Knutsford one for my Christmas treat. The one in Ilkley sounds fab.
I'm a total urchin when I'm there but it's soo lovely just to visit.

thisgirlcanmoveon · 28/09/2019 17:28

Got to love that DD has chosen to go to university in Lancaster. I have volunteered for the Christmas pick up . I knew i had children for a reason .

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 17:30

@cccameron, don't go tomorrow, the Christmas book isn't at yet, as per the OP.

NoWordForFluffy · 28/09/2019 17:30

Out, not at.

Woodlandwitch · 28/09/2019 17:31

I love our yearly trip up north around Christmas just for the booths Christmas book!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 28/09/2019 17:43

ohhhhh, Cranstons, Defenest. Their meat is something else.

I have kept all my Booths Christmas books, they're just so comforting. Am a bit too far north now to go at all often, but will be visiting down south fairly soon so a double trip to Penrith's Booths & Cranstons will wipe out the budget for the next two months.

cccameron · 28/09/2019 17:51

Thanks NoWordForFluffy Ill leave it a few weeks
