What presents did you get the best reactions to this Christmas? My 3 year old boy loved a wooden castle with knights and dragons figurines. Think he would actually have been happy with just that although tree blocks and his own set of measuring scales went down very well too. How old are your children and what did they love the most? Already after ideas for future years 🙈

ChristmasTwatteryDoesMyHeadIn · 26/12/2018 17:22

DS1 - steering wheel for Xbox one
DD - the Blue from Jurassic world mask
DS2 - the light up solar system to screw into his ceiling and the glow in the dark stars

Timeforabiscuit · 26/12/2018 17:25

Screwball scramble Grin bought for eldest dd aged 11 who declared it a stupid and unfair game, still glued to it today!

Kitty2019 · 26/12/2018 17:26

Alexa for my 10 year old

missyB1 · 26/12/2018 17:31

A toy aircraft carrier complete with planes tanks etc for ds age 10. Also loved a floor mat which is a runway for his model planes.

AsMuchUseAsAMarzipanDildo · 26/12/2018 17:35

DD (2) loved her wooden pirate ship and train set (both £20 ish) for Christmas and Birthday.

Blankiefan · 26/12/2018 18:03

5yo has been very engaged with Guess Who? which was a random present from a huge selection she got. It was only a tenner!

BloddersMum · 26/12/2018 18:09

Whoopie cushions! Thank you to the mumsnetter who suggested that one. Just a stocking gift but my 6yo dd has been in hysterics since yesterday with them!
The other hits are Sylvanian families, polly pockets and a joke book.

Stompythedinosaur · 26/12/2018 19:35

Zoomer unicorn for 7yo dd1 and luvabella for 5yo dd2. Also the Humpty Dumpty Wall Game has been surprisingly popular. Lego (Do superhero girls and Lego friends) have been good too.

Yodasbride · 26/12/2018 19:36

Good thread

DS(9) sharpies and sketch books

DD(12) Amazon dot

Grandad (71) amazon dot, he's driving us mad but he's loving listening to Spencer Davis, and talking books etc😂

DH whiskey and bobble hat😁

reluctantbrit · 26/12/2018 19:39

Dd is 11 and is over the moon with her Fitbit (well, not the real one). I think it even topped the Little Mix tickets.

AlbusPercival · 26/12/2018 19:39

DS2 loves his fluffy blanket and Lanka kade animals

blibblibs · 26/12/2018 19:42

DC 9 & 10 are loving their amazon dot, me not so much Grin

Trampire · 26/12/2018 19:42

Dd (nearly 14) - luxury fake fur blanket. Has been wrapped in it for 2 days!

Ds 11 - Hogwarts Lego
Mini book light
Tiny snitch that spins on his finger.

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 26/12/2018 19:45

dd(13) a new phone and speaker - we are driven demented with her music but it;s cute

Dh (45) port, whiskey and a new book

Me (48) mini proseccos, my own box of belgian choc and 3 good books - bliss

ChristmasFan2018 · 26/12/2018 20:00

My 2 year old loved his Ikea kitchen, a xylophone & Lidl's 2 sided easel. He's been a bit overwhelmed with all the gifts so I'm sure once he has a chance to finish opening and playing with them all he will have other winners!

SagelyNodding · 26/12/2018 20:04

Boxer the robot for DS2-it's adorable! Bit noisy though... Ds1 had a retro console which was also a hit! Alexa was a 'family' present and v popular with everyone too-but DH keeps calling her 'Alexia' so she won't work for him!

Igottastartthinkingbee · 26/12/2018 20:12

DS (6) and DD (4) both love their super squashy soft Squashmallows or whatever they’re called. £7 from Aldi!!!

Other big hits with DS were Lego, make your own keyring, robo alive dinosaur, sequin colour change t shirt and refreshers sweets flavoured shower gel!

DD loves her playmobil nursery school, Lego juniors friends set, CBeebies annual and a pen where the sqaushy top pings off (prob 99p job!).

LastOneDancing · 26/12/2018 20:15

DS2 loves his £1.50 plastic pig snout from Wilko 😂

Only downside is we've had to play some nonsense called 'piggy circles' several times since 7.30am yesterday.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 26/12/2018 20:26

My dds were a bit overwhelmed I went way overboard!!

Dd1 (10) has loved her comics - Simpsons, beano. Her newts case of fantastic beasts. Also her funko pop figures and ninja turtle half shell heroes house.

Dd2 (6) big hits were the various figures and dolls (superhero high, LOL, enchantimals, shopkins) the enchantimals house and ice cream cart. Her teenie genies shimmer and shine set.

Both have been playing together with the figures and houses.

We have all loved Mario kart and super smash bros on the Nintendo switch (dh presents!!)

Lilicat1013 · 26/12/2018 20:29

My eight year old son's biggest hit was his Leapfrog Count and Chat phone (he is has autism and global developmental delay). He got the original Count and Chat phone when he was the typical age for it and loved it, a couple of years ago they changed it slightly and he has that version as well.

This year they changed it significantly and re released it, he had no idea it existed. It was the first present he opened and he wouldn't touch anything else for hours. He just wanted to press buttons on his phone and laugh at it. He hasn't let go of it since he got it.

My five year old son who is also severely autistic got a Thomas and Friends motorised raceway. It's like those penguin toys where they go up the stairs and down the slide but with trains. The mini trains get pulled up to the top and sent down one of three tracks. It moves continuously. He loves it, he can't take his eyes off of it we have already gone through one set of batteries as he wants it on constantly.

Despite the boys hugely successful presents I won the best present of Christmas, my mum got me a present from the boys, a gift voucher for a sloth meeting experience. I love sloths, I'm so excited.

Eve · 26/12/2018 20:32

DH - asterix book (big kid!!)

Teenage boys - lock picking kit ( thanks Mumsnet) and those camping sleeping mattress things you sweep through the air.

Me - sleep kit from Liberty’s.

DrWhy · 26/12/2018 20:35

DS (2) toy buggy, puzzles and his JoJo pocket farm.
DH hard to judge but he’s wearing his mountain warehouse T-shirt today.

Duckswaddle · 26/12/2018 21:17

Daughter, 4, loved her hatchibabies thing which was a last minute gift as it was cheap from very and I thought she’d like it. Also hooked on a dog with a lead that poos which she spotted in Aldi on a random shopping trip and loves.

Duckswaddle · 26/12/2018 21:17

Son, 1, is still working his way through his presents!
