Evening all! I'm not sure if this will be the last or the penultimate thread, but here goes!

Nero, O2 appears to be working now (conveniently now I'm home and don't need mobile data!).

Congratulations Frange! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Currently propped up in bed as my god forsaken back has locked up big time gahhhh!
Hopefully a bath later will ease it a wee bit!

Wheelie - I don’t know what I’d do with it either but I really want one Grin Addie has a wee knitted flamingo, but now I really want a giant one Grin
St Patrick’s day is my joint favourite day ever alongside Christmas! It would be amazing for my wee Irish princess to be born then Grin
We have white and red in the hallway downstairs, we’ve ordered slate coloured for the living room and the upstairs hallway were not sure yet!
That electric dish dryer is genius! Would make life so much easier!

We’ve been putting Addie’s clothes away, we have a good selection of 3-6 suitable for all weathers, so don’t need any more of them, but we barely have any newborn / 0-3 6-9 Or 12 months plus. I’m not worried about the 12 months plus, there’s no rush for them, but will pick up some newborn and 0-3 in the new year. Plus March is such an awkward month weather wise, sometimes it’s bitterly cold, other times it’s mild! I don’t have a bag I can use for a hospital bag, so that needs sorting too. Starting to panic a wee bit even though I have a little over 14 weeks to go 😂
I’ll feel better once the nursery is completely finished in the new year. How I’m meant to pick a selection out of these gorgeous outfits for the hospital bag I don’t know Grin

AceyMac13 · 14/12/2018 18:39

Here is Addie’s flamingo, it will sit on one of her shelves when we put them up Grin

You need to buy layers Acey, cardis and things.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/12/2018 18:49

Newborns poo over everything so I'd go for plenty of vests and sleepsuits with maybe 2 special sleepsuits: first outfit and going home one. Don't forget a hat as even summer babies need a hat as they can't regulate temp. Also you'll need a cardy as well (ditto). You'll need cellular not fleece blankets (the latter are a smothering hazard) for layering over the car seat. NEVER have padded coats / snow suits in the car seat as they're literally lethal in a crash. Always thin layers with blanket(s) over for warmth.

Congratulations Frange!

Don't forget many many muslins Acey (or was I the only one with a pukey baby?)

AceyMac13 · 14/12/2018 20:22

Aye that’s true, poo and sick over everything so that’s a good idea of what to take, thank you! I’m not sure how long we will be in for, as my poor Addie will have to capillary blood taken to test for thalasemia. Of course it all depends on what time she’s born etc too, could be home the same day! We’ve got hats, Cardies, jumpers, cellular blankets, lots of things that can be layered. Short and long sleeved vests. We have a snowsuit but we don’t use the car unless going to the drs or to the next town etc, everything else we walk to and bus if needed. I read something about snowsuits and car seats that are a no no, but I didn’t know padded coats were a risk too, so thank you for that! God I’m terrified I’ll be a terrible mum or she will hate me 😂

AceyMac13 · 14/12/2018 20:23

Red - you are a genius! I hadn’t even thought of Muslins! On the list they go!

AceyMac13 · 14/12/2018 20:30

We trial made a mini gingerbread and white chocolate trifle because we weren’t sure how the flavours would work together, cor blimey it’s so nice and makes me feel all festive Grin
Bath time in a min once I’ve decided which bath bomb to use Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 14/12/2018 20:37

If you're going in and out of shops I wouldn't use a snowsuit as they can overheat so easily. We've never used them, just loads of layering as it's easier to regulate temperature that way!

Jumpers and teeny people are a pain! Stick to cardies and hoodies!

AceyMac13 · 14/12/2018 20:44

Ah red I love that, makes my heart warm ❤️

AceyMac13 · 14/12/2018 20:46

That’s a very good point fluffy! I can’t see her needing a snow suit in March, but you never know with the weather! Layers are key then it seems! God I have no idea what I’m doing 😂

Redgreencoverplant · 14/12/2018 20:51

None of us do Acey, you just become more confident at making things up as time goes by Grin

AceyMac13 · 14/12/2018 20:54

Haha I love that red Grin my grandad said he’s still winging it now Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 14/12/2018 21:19

It's bonkers that they just let you out of hospital with a mini human, even if you've had zero contact with one before! 😂😂

We've winged it. Still do! But you do get more confident once you get to know your child and understand them a bit.

Mrs yes, the RTÉ guide is the same as the radio times (which I've also bought). They have a lovely children's story in it this year that goes through the whole magazine.
Glad that you're getting some answers for your dad. I've been anemic during and after my pregnancies.
DD's birthday is the 18th, so this Tuesday. I've got her a vanilla and chocolate cake.

Wheel it's gives torrential rain for tomorrow so it'll be a day of Christmas films and mince pies. Xmas Grin

Acey pack about 3 more of everything that you think you'll need like vests. Red my two were the same and went through so many sleepsuits and vests in the hospital because they had soaked through them.

Fluffy I agree. I was so nervous coming out of hospital the first time. I hadn't a clue what to do. The second time round, I think I'm more relaxed.

WheelchairWoes · 14/12/2018 23:26

acey I adore Addie's flamingo!! So sweet!!

And yes as PSB says layers! Also blankets for swaddling

When I had my oldest (she'll be 15 in a few weeks) I'd never even held a baby. So you'll do fine! You learn quick lol

fiddle definitely a stay at home day. We are going to decorate my dad's tree tomorrow so I'll take photos for you all!!

Husband is at work and his breaks are messing up. As soon as he can he's going to go by and switch cars with my da so he can figure out what's wrong with the car

WheelchairWoes · 15/12/2018 04:18

It's 11:18 PM and I'm finally heading to bed! I hope you all are happily asleep and dreaming lovely Christmas dreams

AceyMac13 · 15/12/2018 04:56

I was having a dream that I was feeding Addie and about to put her back in her Moses basket. I just woke up and started freaking out because I couldn’t find her anywhere 😂 paddy was like woahhhh she’s not even been born yet, all is good 😂

Philomensapie · 15/12/2018 06:12

10

10?! 10?! Actually, no panic unless DD's hoodie doesn't turn up on time! Xmas Grin

Morning! I've just sent DS2 back to bed, he's trying to get used to the new regime of "stay in bed until I come and get you". Xmas Hmm

Redgreencoverplant · 15/12/2018 06:33

Philomensapie · 15/12/2018 06:46

Mrsmadevans · 15/12/2018 07:18

Morning all Xmas Smile
Couldn't sleep much, have Dad on my mind . Off to do the graves in a bit, must get 7 wreaths first Xmas Hmm . Mums regular wreath making neighbour has let her down at the last min, he has just had his first Grandchild so it is understandable to be fair. It is upsetting seeing Dad feeling so ill and so down. I am tempted to get him some trackie bottoms to help him go to the loo and keep him warm. My sister will do her nut but l think she can get lost. Off up the parents then to sort them out Xmas Smile
Red you will have a fantastic time on the Santa train , it is a lovely ride to go on, ENJOY! Xmas Grin
PSB ahhh bless him Xmas Grin hope the hoodie comes!
Acey Flamingo birthday cake !!! Xmas Grin hope your back is better soon sweetie. Love Addies Flamingo too Xmas Smile, you will be a fantastic Mum don't worry about it m'dear Xmas Smile
Wheelie the houses all look the same , the fad for Grey everything in home decor has now reached saturation point ! Whatever happened to White just plain brilliant white lol Xmas Grin
Nero that story sounds lovely , l have yet to get the RT not had time yet! Xmas Grin
Right better shift have found some joggers , called 'fleece trousers', in EWM so will go in there this morning to get him 2 prs , it is worth a try. Hope everyone has a great day, seems a lot if us have had disturbed sleep last night Xmas Hmm never mind onward and upward Xmas Grin
