Morning! Brand new thread for the new week!

I’ve just got home. Everyone else who was there has gone out for a meal and drinks to celebrate his life, but I couldn’t face it.
I feel absolutely drained and like I could sleep for a year.
It was a beautiful send off and I made it through my speech thing without getting too upset.
Thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughts, they bring comfort at what has been the most difficult time of my life

Addie’s wee gruffalo clothes have arrived 😍
She has been my ever constant source of strength these past few weeks, and I can’t wait to give her the most amazing life when she’s here in March ❤️

Oh no there’s a Maverick in my rubbish bag and it’s bin day soon

Acey I know it's not really the same thing but I had to drug myself up with ativan to get through the day. It's the 7 year anniversary of when my father in law died. He understood me and I loved him as another dad.

I love that newest outfit for Addie! So precious!

I might not be able to catch up guys because of the ativan and I'm feeling a little loopy but I will try.

Wheelie - I’m so sorry for your loss, it doesn’t matter how long it’s been, when you love someone and they meant something to you, the grief never seems to go away. I hope you manage to have a good day, despite the sadness you must be feeling if you need to talk, I’m always here :) I can’t stop buying her wee outfits, they are all so cute

Did my first trial of mince pies today. They don't look too good but they do taste nice and that's the most important thing.

Money does funny things to people I have found in my family. If that's the reason your family have been so odd I think I'd be even more furious, but that's something to be sorted another day 💐

I'm feeling a little fragile Red I went to work but was working on half speed and my concentration kept drifting. I couldn't wait to get home!

Neros I think they look lovely, I hate that I don't like mince pies. Feels like a failure in someone who loves Christmas so much!

Baking It's not too early if you can do it without starting WW3 (like I would with DH if I tried). My neighbour (3 doors up) has put her tree up today. She has blue flashing lights outside so I thought it was an ambulance until I got closer She has a huge tree in her bay window and was still decorating it as I parked.

I'm home and about to jump straight into pjs. The pressure is less in my sinuses but I'm so so tired and achey still. Perfect excuse to curl up on the sofa with the dogs I think, especially as DH isn't here this evening.

Fiddle I love those pies ! Would I be able to get a recipe from you? I think my kids would adore them

crazy I think you gave me your pressure sinuses lol it's either that or the rainy and snowy weather in the forecast haha

Hubby has a corn casserole in the oven and I can't wait to eat it up. Its going to be so yum.

Baking It's never too early for trees!! I've got one up already waiting for decorations and tomorrow the rest of my goodies come home to be put up haha

My flamingo Xmas tee arrived - it will go perfectly with the light up flamingo Xmas jumper when that gets here

Crazy - I hope you feel better soon my dear I love the word cwtch and thank you you’re absolutely right, money definitely does do weird things to people! My grandad had a text earlier asking if I’d paid for the funeral yet, so I’m now 99% sure money is what it’s about. I can almost guarantee once they find out I’ve paid for it, they will come swanning back!

I’m in bed watching tv with maverick. Don’t think I’ve ever felt as emotionally drained as I do now.

Could you broach with your parents that they need more help than you can provide, MrsM? I think you've said before that they're proud, but it won't be doing your health any good!

Wreck I was reading an article about Lapland and wondering how you were getting on. Glad to hear there's snow forecast before you are due to go.

DD came home from her booster at 4.45, I picked DS2 up from Adventure at 6, had Thai green chicken curry for supper, DS2 has just fallen asleep in our bed, DD will go to bed at 8.50. 😋🍛😴

Firefly thank you re the parents , l am in the process of trying to get some extra payments (direct payments) so that we can get some help in for them , with their agreeance no less!! Now that is a shock to me but they must realise we can't go on like this for ever.
Acey thank God the day is over for you my dear , take time now and have a good rest before you go back to work next week , you have been so busy what with one thing and another it is so hard for you sweetie l do know that you should be very pleased and proud of yourself because you have been such a wonderful daughter to your Dad bless you the clothes are so cute for Addie too she is going to be the best dressed baby in Ireland !!!

Fluffy l meant to say that the voltarol gel is brilliant and because it is topical it doesn't hurt your tum , hope you get it sorted asap m'dear , Mum has IBS and she has awful symptoms when it flares up

I'm kind of keeping myself on the recliner today. I'm crying over everything. My heart rate is being stupid and I'm just exhausted and tired. Watched The Snowman 5 times today haha

My husband is at work but thankfully has tomorrow and Friday off so I can get some snugglies. I need them. I'm having a rough week emotionally and physically.

Who's putting their tree up this weekend then? I'm going to have to live vicariously as we're going away next Saturday so won't get ours up until the weekend after.

It's good in a way, as it will hopefully stop it dragging for DS. We might get some lights up before we go, though!

They have been making Christmas decorations at nursery this week, so he's asking about it already. (All the nurseries and schools in the town decorate a tree each, and they're then displayed at a Christmas tree fair, which is next weekend, hence why so early).

I broached the subject of his Christmas list - he still wants the pile of plastic crap Paw Patrol toy he set his heart on weeks ago. At least he's consistent!

Wheel I use Delia for the mincemeat and Hairy bikers for the pastry. They add orange into the pastry.

firefly My big tree is going up inside and my other tree is being decorated.AND the rest of our outside lights are going up this weekend! I'll have lots of photos for you all lol

I love seeing all the little decorations the young ones make in their nurseries. They are always so sweet and make me so happy.
