Or is it too soon to be asking Blush

Today I sorted through all our decorations and was thinking about a date.
We don’t go for a fresh tree but we will be away over Christmas so I want to put the tree up soon!

Get those twinkle lights out ✨

Not before December. And it stays up till 12th night.

Probably the weekend of the 15th Dec.

When I was a child the tree always went up on Christmas Eve.

duckling84 · 03/11/2018 20:40

Any time after children in need. So mid/late November. Usually come down new years eve

Bumbumtaloo · 03/11/2018 20:49

Ours go up first weekend of December and come down the weekend before the kids go back to school.

The year DD1 was born it was really deep snow and we had bought our first real tree with the intention of putting it in the garden and using it every year. DD was born on 28th December and with the newborn, deep snow and life it never got out into the garden and was still decorated until February. We’ve had an artificial tree since Grin

I think I just carried away today with sorting through decorations and got all excited GrinGrin
Ours will probably go up last Sunday of November.

Ziggzagg · 03/11/2018 21:32

19th November!! Every year!! Although it is a tradition from when DD was very small and I don't like to break tradition

NachoCheese22 · 03/11/2018 21:38

December 1st. Can't wait Grin

Magair · 03/11/2018 21:40

The 9th this year

namechange9681 · 03/11/2018 21:43

The week after next! We're away in December to and don't see the point in putting it up otherwise, I also take it down before new year as like to see it in fresh! 🤪🤪🤪

JanuarySkies · 03/11/2018 22:06

Usually the first weekend in December and then take it down the day after boxing day

MyNameIsNotSteven · 03/11/2018 22:18

Maybe a week before Christmas and take them down a little after new year. They must get horribly grubby otherwise.

Angelcd · 03/11/2018 22:19

1st dec and i take mine down usually 1st jan.i hate new year im all about christmas x

youarenotkiddingme · 03/11/2018 22:29

Usually do first weekend in December. But due to ds competing first weekend and 3rd weekend it'll be the 2nd one 🎄

Certainly won't be weekend before Xmas as I'll be shopping and cooking and visiting people before Christmas Eve appears on the Monday!

3boysandabump · 03/11/2018 23:17

1st December

Janleverton · 03/11/2018 23:24

Last weekend before Xmas. Tree then taken down on New Year’s Day.

Deminism · 04/11/2018 00:15

Dd told me we have a tradition of putting it up on Dec 1. I didn’t know this but apparently we do. She is 7. I think I must have made that up last year to stop them nagging in November.

Curious2468 · 04/11/2018 02:38

Usually the 1st of December but I’m super keen to get my rainbow tree up this year so may cave towards to end of November

When is everyone putting up their Christmas trees?
Alfie190 · 04/11/2018 02:41

It will go up on 1st December.

elQuintoConyo · 04/11/2018 07:25

6th December, a holiday here and just before a birthday, birthday-person likes the tree up on his birthday rather than separate!

It will stay up until 7th as we also celebrate 5th/6th. DC go back to school 8th.

So a month in total. I love the tree and all the decorations, i make sure i have nothing in the way/to trip over for the month otherwise they'd drive me mad!

We'll be in a new home before Christmas this year and i have already planned where to put the tree! But need to find a place for the fabric stocking advent calendar, we won't have a bannister and it is very important.

Cornwall73 · 04/11/2018 07:28

We put ours up Saturday before Christmas Day and comes down evening of the 1st Jan before return to work.

Newkitchenideas1 · 04/11/2018 08:20

Usually the first weekend in Dec but we have building work going on so it will be as and when this year. Depends what stage the work will be at come Dec but it would never be before Dec.

claireymrsd · 04/11/2018 08:42

Ours will probably go up on 15th December which is a bit later than usual.

Husband's birthday is on 6th so we don't put them up until after that and we're doing birthday celebrations for him on 9th December so decs will have to wait until the weekend after!

HalfBloodPrincess · 04/11/2018 08:57

Usually the first weekend in December, but I have a 16 month old so this year will leave it as late as possible to (try and) limit the amount of times it gets knocked down
