We had it with part baked baguettes! I soften the veg in some butter then sprinkle over some flour and Cooke off before adding the beef stock. Once it's thickened I add it all to the slow cooker with the beef and other bits and leave on low for the day.

Mrsmadevans · 13/11/2018 20:49

That's disappointing Nero but Windermere must be absolutely beautiful Smile
I cook a piece of gammon in my slo cooker , also do a chilli , bolognase. soup, rice pud, lasagne by putting the sheets of pasta in sideways, also do casseroles and stews sweet n sour chicken, but they are all prob what you already use, l also use frozen Tesco vegetarian mince instead of meat because it taste fantastic and l don't even need to pre cook it ! Baked pots in there but l don't do much else Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 13/11/2018 21:11

Windermere is stunning. We go up that way a fair bit as it's only about 90 minutes' away.

We don't have a slow cooker, we think about it, then decide against it!

Wow this thread has been busy today! Work has been non stop so I haven't had chance to log on at all so sorry to those I miss!

Wheelchair you're definitely not annoying anyone on this thread. Im as intrigued about where you live as you are about where we live!
I've been to a few different states in America but nowhere near you unfortunately. We were in NYC for Christmas last year and took a road trip (Pennsylvania, DC, the Hamptons) and I loved how beautiful all the decorations were.

🥂 Penblwydd Hapus RedGreen 🥂

Side sorry things aren't going so well for you. If you want some light distractions or any support, please come back 💐

Work was too busy today, and I did 2 hours overtime followed by a trip to Sainsbury's. I was so tired after my early start that I was a bit sporadic with the shopping and had to go around twice. I only looked at the clothes, Home and Christmas stuff too, not the food. Added more to my Christmas stash (and added a Christmas candle to the basket for me). I need sleep now please 😴

PhilomenaButterfly · 13/11/2018 21:33

My grandad makes permastew in his slow cooker, we think the bottom 3 inches have been there for 35ish years! I shared it for a week when I was 15, he added something new every day - sausages, tinned mackerel - it always tasted the same! He's 96, so maybe it has magical properties.

PhilomenaButterfly · 13/11/2018 21:36

Wheelchair, I'm from the not-very-exciting Fulham in London. No pretty scenery here! 😂

WheelchairWoes · 13/11/2018 22:04

Chips I'm so sorry stuff is going so off the wall for you. Please know we are here for you when you feel better or even just to vent to!

Philomena I feel you on that! My town is boring but when the folks around here start decorating I'll have some fantastic photos for you all

Crazy Pennsylvania is a fantastic place to visit! I've never been to the others lol

Fluffy I'd kill for that stash my friend.

Neros My favorite slow cooker meals are honestly a beef roast with potatoes and carrots. We toss in some beef broth too and it all cooks up so yummy. Can I call you fiddle btw? I play the fiddle so I keep wanting to call you fiddle haha

It's only 5 pm here so we've not had dinner yet but I'm having a rough day so I think it's a fend for yourself and eat whatever night. My husband is off at work until 9 pm (3-9 pm today and tomorrow) and I'm wishing it was Thursday so I could relax in my new chair. Which when it arrives I will take photos for you all haha

PhilomenaButterfly · 14/11/2018 03:27

I'm awake for no apparent reason.

NoWordForFluffy · 14/11/2018 06:52

Morning!

I'm just about to get on the train. It's quite mild here today, though there's the threat of rain. We've still only got the heating on for 2.5 hours' per day, shared between morning and evening, which I think is unprecedented for mid-November (we're in a Victorian semi which doesn't hold heat).

Our rad arrived yesterday ready for installation on Friday. We're very excited about the new boiler! 😂

Not looking forward to work today; I'm too busy!

we have just had our pay award agreed, and I am getting a bit of a pay rise - should work out to be about £100 extra a month - plus back pay from June in my November pay!!! Lovely little bonus just before Christmas!

Mrsmadevans · 14/11/2018 09:18

NerosFiddle · 14/11/2018 09:23

Wheelie call me anything you like, just don't call me early in the morning Xmas Grin.

Dh is off all this week so I got to watch breakfast with a hot cup of tea this morning. I put a gammon on the slow cooker with coke.

AceyMac13 · 14/11/2018 10:19

Morning!
Haven’t caught up yet as it’s absolute chaos here! Removal men are loading up the van at my dads and I’m panicking that there’s not going to be enough space at my house! Plus I ripped all the carpets up the week before last, ready to get new ones in a couple weeks and the floors underneath are disgusting!
I’m hoping the removal men can put my washing machine and sofa outside for someone to collect, else there really won’t be any space 😂
I’ll be glad when this is over.
Must dash all systems go!

HairsprayBabe · 14/11/2018 10:25

I am still not sure where we are putting our tree

There are 2 options, I may do a diagram!

Mrsmadevans · 14/11/2018 11:25

Nero that is lovely of DH enjoy it my dear and the gammon😋😋😋

Mrsmadevans · 14/11/2018 11:26

Acey everything will come to fruition. Good luck with the meeting be sweety don't overdo it 🤗🤗🤗

Mrsmadevans · 14/11/2018 11:27

Hairspray diagram definitely needed my dear 👨‍🎨🎨

BiddyPop · 14/11/2018 11:44

Busy day at work here, but I got DD's advent calender in a detour this morning, and the last wool I needed. I almost finished my homework last night for next Monday, so I will be filling a shoebox with DD tonight (for school) and potentially some knitting on the more complicated scarf I'm still doing.

Have a lovely day all.

AceyMac13 · 14/11/2018 13:31

Currently trying to unpack and sort things while the Removal men do the next load 😂
Can’t wait to try all this coffee 😍
My lily O’Brien’s advent calendar arrived, it’s beautiful. It’s currently hidden under boxes but I will upload a pic later!

I love their hot chocolates Acey, I'm sure their coffee's are equally nice! Thanks to your recommendation I bought the christmas coffee at sainsburys and it's gone down very well with dh Xmas Grin. Does your council have a collection service? they're quite reasonably priced here or you can call up a furniture charity and they'll usually collect too.

hairspray I second a diagram!

Mrsmad Have a good day! I love feeding ducks Grin.

philomena ouch, 3 am!!!! I'm sorry you were up so early. I could have kept you company as I was up most the time but I've banned my phone from the bedroom or I'd gawp at it all night!

Pity party continues here, horrendous head cold with complimentary sore throat and infected wisdom tooth, I have to take all 3 kids to the dentist after the school run today, on a 1hr bus ride. Send some positive thoughts my way!

AceyMac13 · 14/11/2018 14:07

Wheelchair thank you for your lovely kind words treacle, what a lovely thing to say Smile Grin

AceyMac13 · 14/11/2018 14:11

Have a lovely day Mrs! And you’re right things will definitely come together soon my dear 😁 Smile

Seafood - I ordered a pack of their raspberry ripple hot chocolate too, so I’m looking forward to that Grin Addie is going wild whilst I drink it, hope she’s enjoying it Grin yay! I’m glad your DH likes the Xmas coffee Grin I think it is only available October - December so stockpile whilst you can Grin I rang the council and they are collecting free of charge on Monday Grin hope you feel better soon sugar!

Sorry if I’ve missed anyone; trying to catch up whilst trying to unpack 😂

Found this gorgeous t shirt in with my dads stuff, he must have bought it for Addie. God my heart 😍😍
