Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Thanks for the suggestions. The tear drop bunting is beautiful, and those giant Muslins, I wish I would have known about them when my DC were little.
Could actually do with a new collar for my dog so will pop into pets at home and pick up treats for the cats and pick up a few goodies from Sainsbury's for mum and dad. Thanks again.

woodwaj · 25/10/2018 22:28

timefor I follow a page on Instagram that makes bespoke pet collars let me know if it's of any use and I'll pm the info

@Jammiebammie the other book I bought DD was Kawaii Doodle Class for £8.31 from The Book People using a discount code from this thread. I think that discount code has now expired, but you can probably find it for around the same price if you check other sellers on Amazon. It’s absolutely gorgeous! I’ve got her a small tin of graphic pencils and will add a sketch pad too.

I wasn’t planning on buying the Kawaii animals book too, but she’s spent most of today drawing, so when it popped up on my camelcamelcamel alerts I couldn’t resist it!

SockEatingMonster · 25/10/2018 22:55

I can also recommend this Homemade for Hamsters book that I bought for DS. I’m going to get a massive pack of craft lolly sticks to go with it, as most of the designs seem to call for them.

Trumpton · 26/10/2018 00:59

Ooh just bought the Kawaii doodle book for my 8 yr old God daughter ! Good call ! Thank you !

BadgerFace · 26/10/2018 06:03

Time I was going to say a giant muslin but see I’ve been beaten to it! We still use ours even though the kids are now 5 and 2 for using as teddy bandages/capes/dens/to cuddle for the little one. My 5 year old has actually asked for one for herself for Xmas as the 2 year old loved our giraffe one so much... (even though it technically was given to the elder one!!). It was one of our best gifts ever.

For anyone getting shopping in sainsburys today/sat/sun its swipe and win weekend!
So every transaction over £10 you earn a random amount of bonus nectar points!
So if your buying a few bits its worth paying for it in over a few transactions to maximise your bonus points.
The vouchers are printed as random amounts you can earn from £1 of points up to £25 on each voucher so is worth doing.
A good way to get some extra points built up for the xmas shop :) xx

NoWordForFluffy · 26/10/2018 07:16

I'm doing that today, Betsy. I'll do a few transactions to maximise it!

makingmiracles · 26/10/2018 07:46

@smellybears how does the Photobox offer work, does it discount it once you checkout? It shows it as £19.99 for me...

darthlou · 26/10/2018 07:56

Has anyone seen a Christmas train set that's compatible with brio? I've seen the BigJigs one but it looks a bit dull. I'm surprised there aren't more around since so many places sell the trains/track, I just can't find anything Christmassy! Tempted to buy the official brio advent calendar but seems very expensive for what you get

Smellybears · 26/10/2018 07:58

@makingmiracles click on the promotion box, it’ll then ask you to either sign in or register. Once you’ve done that, you can then type in FREEA4CAL and it’ll just charge you £4.99 for delivery

CheekyFucker · 26/10/2018 08:00

Watch out for Sports Direct prices. Hubby bought DD some trainers in the actual shop for £38 (could have throttled him - she is 8, melts shoes, and they are fabric top and white sole so will barely last a week).

I checked the website and they are only £14. I have emailed them.

Any thoughts of how else to approach this? He will not let me return them but I may have to be firm.

Smellybears · 26/10/2018 08:04

@CheekyFucker can you buy them off the website then take them back into store for a refund with the £38 receipt?

CheekyFucker · 26/10/2018 08:08

@Smellybears

I could indeed. There is postage to consider but it would still be worth it. We are on holiday and the nearest store is 300 miles away over open sea usually hence DH spoiling her. I would have to take them off her though and he doesn't want me to.

But £24 is a massive difference.

Changingagain · 26/10/2018 08:29

CheekyFucker I'm pretty sure Sports Direct will only take returns in exchange for a credit note, not great if you don't live near one, sorry.

CheekyFucker · 26/10/2018 08:51

@Changingagain that would not be a problem. It is a matter of principal for me really.

Thank you for the warning.

margaritasbythesea · 26/10/2018 08:57

I've just seen that Boots will be offering £10 of points for a £50 spend in store or £60 online 1st to 4th November.

desperatelyseekingcaffeine · 26/10/2018 09:01

@darthlou I got a lovely one from Asda a year or two ago. Motorised train and lots of little Christmassy bits to go along with it. Not sure if they're doing it this year but worth a look (and also v cheap!)

Changingagain · 26/10/2018 10:10

DS has asked for a kitchen like at nursery for at home. The trouble is he's 3 and I'm a bit worried looking at reviews on the ones I like that he's going to grow out of it very quickly as most people mention buying them for 18 month-2 year olds.
Can anyone tell me what sort of age your children were interested in play kitchens until? Thanks.

thaegumathteth · 26/10/2018 10:22
