Here we go again. I think the last thread was the quickest ever, so this one probably won't even get to Halloween, but we shall see!

Talking of Christmas cakes have a look at this it is fab Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 15/10/2018 21:54

That's great news, Heavy! Talk about a speedy move!

Acey, I'm glad your BP and eyes are fine. Good news.

Biddy, you're so busy. I've stalled somewhat on the Grand Plan, but some places don't need doing. We are decorating the hall, stairs and landing next week though. I could do with clearing the understairs, but it's such an effort! I actually think it just needs a reorganisation, so I should at least try.

Mrs, no need to make a cake if you find a nice bought one! I'm not big on fruit cake, and neither are the DC, so no cake here!

Thank you everyone for your kind words; they're much-appreciated!

You need a chocolate and salted caramel one Fluffy. I'm another one not keen on fruit cake.

Awake far too early again. 😴😴😴😴

NoWordForFluffy · 16/10/2018 05:20

That sounds too sweet. And I tend to make my own goodies too. There'll be all sorts of stuff to eat!

It's dark. I don't want to get up. Ds woke me up at 5:55 but I told him it was the middle of the night still. He appears to have gone back to sleep. I didn't because I knew I would feel worse for it! Warm sunny day forecast. Oh wait ds has just walked in.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/10/2018 07:00

It's quite warm here at the moment; 11 degrees.

I've started back on the cross trainer this week now the work at the allotment has tailed off so I'm not burning calories doing that. I'm only doing 20 minutes, however, not the 30 minutes I was doing before I hurt my shoulder. Partly because the amitriptyline makes me slow to get going in the morning and partly because it makes it too rushed to do longer and I've got used to the relaxed start! I do feel more energised for doing it though, which is good. 😁

It's soon going to be dark on the way to work and then going home. It makes my lunchtime walk even more important so I see daylight!

I am mad this morning. I slept badly so was organized to get to work early and this get home early. But dd forgot her sodding shoes - and I am only now on the train to work as I had to go back home and try to find the non-existent shoes....🤬 Of course it’s dh and my fault...

Someone please remind me why a girl guide smiles and sings under all difficulties as I’m finding it hard to find my cheerfulness this morning!

WreckTangled · 16/10/2018 08:55

My car says 14 degrees. The fog is clearing 😎

HairsprayBabe · 16/10/2018 09:00

We has soooooo much rain yesterday, the gutters have been overflowing all summer and the letting agenst have been crap, and we now have huge patches of damp in the living room.

Don't really know what we can do do fix it, had the heating on for a bit yesterday, but funds are tight and I don't want to have it on all the time if we can help it. DP harangued the letting agent again about the gutters yesterday, but both he and DSD have bad asthma so we really really cannot be living in a damp house.

Mrsmadevans · 16/10/2018 09:02

Morning all Smile
A rare day off for us today so off to Goldcliff for some calm rebooting of the soul and connection with nature. Cannot beat it . Then picking up click & collect grocery order and home .
Have a great day everyone Smile

CrazyBaubles · 16/10/2018 10:26

I am in work after enjoying a full 7 hour sleep last night so firmly off the zombie bench

It was so dark when I left this morning that it felt as though there should be Christmas lights up everywhere which was nice 🎄

Inspired by Fluffy, I will be spending my lunch hour going for a walk and maybe popping into a few shops in town just to get me out of the office as sometimes I barely go outside!

Sorry for your rubbish start this morning Biddy - hopefully the day goes really well for you from here.

Heavystream · 16/10/2018 11:40

Morning all. Arthur’s got a stomach bug so has had the day off today, we’re watching Christmas films and I’ve got a veggie stew on for when DH gets home. I’ve got me and DH some Santa and Mrs Claus mugs from Asda and we’re loving them, DH was going to buy them for me so was a bit upset I got there before him!. We’ve got our shortlist of baby names now as we aren’t 100% sure about Alan, it’s all very exciting!.

Seafoodeatit · 16/10/2018 12:01

biddy map reading sounds fun!

Nero Hopefully it'll get you where you need to be, is it a very long course? what's kris kringle?

mrsmad enjoy your day off :)

Heavy Poor Arthur, I hope he has a speedy recovery and hopefully none of you catch it. I'm going to be buying matching pjs for DH & I from asda but not telling him because he'd probably say no Xmas Grin. What are the other names you're considering?

biddy I hope the rest of your day goes well. My toddlers are forever hiding one of my shoes so I can never the leave the house without looking like a lunatic!

Half term next, half term next is my mantra, I'm very excited for our first family driving holiday too. I'm really jealous of family back in Surrey as they break up this friday boooooo!

Seafoodeatit · 16/10/2018 12:02

next week*

Heavystream · 16/10/2018 13:01

Seafood Thank you, he seems to be on the mend but he’s picking up every little bug since starting school!. DH isn’t a big Christmas fan but when I buy him things he feels bad if he doesn’t use it so it means me spending loads of money in matching mugs and pyjamas and quilt covers!.

We’re considering Edward, Charles, Albert, Frank and Alan.

PhilomenaButterfly · 16/10/2018 13:32

I have to ask Biddy, how did she forget her shoes? Confused

Had beans on a bagel and a banana for breakfast. DD's just had a Pukka pie for lunch. She's playing Geometry Dash.

PhilomenaButterfly · 16/10/2018 13:37

Ooh, I also looked at Christmassy things. 🎅🎄

BiddyPop · 16/10/2018 14:11

PB She wore PE gear home last night, and runners (basketball training after school), and then wore runners under uniform this morning (early morning hockey skills training) so would only have been putting shoes back on just before school time. DH and I both asked (more than once) this morning was she sure she had them as neither of us had taken them out of the bag last night.

She'll learn.

Off to another shite meeting now, and then need to argue with legal advisors yet again....I am really, really looking forward to midterm as I intend taking a couple of days off...

PhilomenaButterfly · 16/10/2018 14:40

Aaaargh! Glad you could save the day!

PhilomenaButterfly · 16/10/2018 14:44

This is also how DS2 left his school shoes in Kent. His friend's dad admits he should've checked.

Mrsmadevans · 16/10/2018 15:54

Afternoon all Smile
Seafood thank you m'dear we had a great time, l so enjoyed it .
Biddy that was a sucker of a start to your day Hmm l so hope it has become a much better one for you Flowers
PSB been having a good old browse too Smile lots of lovely Christmas stuff about , bought a litre bottle of Baileys for £12 for my Mum to give to her friend for Christmas, my Christmas cake and my Christmas pud from Mr T. They are doing 10p off a litre of fuel if you spend over £60 so DH was happy he had a fiver off his petrol Smile never done click & collect before , not sure l would trust them with my fruit & veg or things with dates but everything seemed very good all present & correct .
Heavy.... hope Arthur is better now bless him , it is a sad fact of life the little ones get a lot of illnesses when they go to school at first but it is all good for their immune system l used to tell myself with gritted teeth Flowers
Crazy glad you had a better night it makes all the difference Smile
Just made some rice pud to cook in my slo cooker and helped DD2 make some Jam tarts , we have put all the grocery away and time for a relax now but l have to go and sort the washing out ....... will do it now and make another cuppa am gasping lol Grin
Just looking outside and it seems so dark already !
Have a lovely evening everyone Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 16/10/2018 17:56

Heavy, I hope Arthur is on the mend. DD got everything last year and shared it with DS, so we've managed full attendance so far this half term!

Biddy, what a frustrating start to the day for you. Days like that rarely improve, IME, so I hope yours did!

Mrs, nice productive day there. Well done! I've done C&C with veg (Tesco) and have an online shop every week (Sainsbury's). I don't find them to be too bad. Sainsbury's are better by a slight margin though (and cheaper when compare per kg quite often).

DS' middle name is Edward (named after my mum's dad, DD is Alice after dad's mum!). I like it as it's nice and solid. I like Charles too. You'll find a name you like soon enough!

Well, I had interesting news today. The firm who said no to me after interview gave really positive feedback and have asked me to apply for another position there. Funnily enough, we'd (me and the agency) decided that I wasn't a good fit for that one (lack of specific experience in this area), so discounted it, but there you go! One door closes...

Hi all
Sorry I disappeared

My husband told me he was leaving me on the 1st of September so I’ve been rather out of it and unfestive since then
