Here we go again. I think the last thread was the quickest ever, so this one probably won't even get to Halloween, but we shall see!

Morning! I was woken up by my sunrise at 5.33, did a wash, hung it out, will go to the Sainsbury's café for breakfast, DD will decide whether she wants to come before we go. 🍳

PhilomenaButterfly · 13/10/2018 08:03

I still remember a little half Turkish girl in DS1's class. Her name was Ayše, pronounced Aisha. They came out with stickers with their names on on the first day, hers said "Alisha". I was dreading that kind of thing.

AceyMac13 · 13/10/2018 09:05

Argh can’t get into the opticians until Monday. She said if I start seeing black shadows or dots then go straight to the hospital. I’ve got to see the midwife here on Monday as my previous midwife was concerned that my blood pressure was slightly high, to be fair she had just taken 5 files of blood so I wasn’t exactly calm Grin
Hopefully it’s nothing to worry about. I’ve had migraines before but they only seem to last an hour max. This is strange as it comes and goes and doesn’t bother me unless I’m looking at a screen of some sort. Not to worry though, Monday will soon be here and hopefully I’ll have some answers!

Going to do some more shopping for my wee princess today, then meeting friends for lunch. It’s cold, wet and windy here which has put me in the Christmas mood Grin

FireflyGirl · 13/10/2018 09:56

Do you have a contact number for the midwife, @AceyMac13? Or are you registered with a GP yet?

If your blood pressure was high last time you had it done and now you're seeing floaters, I think you should try to speak to someone today.

It's probably just stress from the last few days, but better to get it checked!

Mrsmadevans · 13/10/2018 10:00

Mrsmadevans · 13/10/2018 10:01

Fluffy your x stitch is just beautiful!

AceyMac13 · 13/10/2018 10:16

Firefly - I spoke to the midwife here yesterday as she had received my notes from the uk. I told her about the weird floater things in one eye and that the previous midwife was concerned about my blood pressure, she said that the blood pressure in my notes was on the high side of normal, but not ridiculously high, and she wanted me to go in Monday for a blood pressure reading again. I took my blood pressure at home 4 times and it’s dropped down to normal each time so I’m slightly confused. I am trying not to freak out about pre eclampsia and things like that as i’m Only 16+4 but I am worried! I don’t have a number for the midwife and not registered with a gp until Monday which is a pain!

Thank you Mrs - I’m really hoping it’s nothing - I just hope baby girl is okay more than anything! I will have a google and see if there’s anyone else I can speak to! I love the wee baby vest it’s so cute!

CrazyBaubles · 13/10/2018 10:29

Firefly that was me. I only had a mini, 4 page M&S guide. Will have to go again and look for the proper one.

Fluffy Happy Anniversary 🥂 Are you doing anything to celebrate?
The cross stitch is coming along really well. You've inspired me - I'm looking at buying a small beginners one to give it a go (never done it before).

Acey I've seen the name Aoife written several times but have no idea how it's pronounced Blush However, I'm welsh but there are some welsh names I struggle with too - iolo for one!

Wreck I hope you've managed some sleep! Enjoy your chocolate oranges

WreckTangled · 13/10/2018 10:40

I didn't get any sleep SadSad hoping for an afternoon nap.

I had ore eclampsia with dd. I was throwing up every 30 mins but was young and didn't know it was more than just a migraine BlushGrin

AceyMac13 · 13/10/2018 10:52

Phew I feel so much better now! Managed to find a number for the maternity assessment unit at the hospital i’ll Be having baby at. The lovely lady was so kind, she asked loads of questions and said it sounds like nothing to worry about at all. She said that it sounds like I had high blood pressure before pregnancy anyway, but if the midwife is concerned about my blood pressure on Monday then she will refer me to a hypertensive midwife and baby and I will get extra care. She also said to book an eye test as pregnancy can change your prescription! Phew, I feel so at ease now and know should I need extra care then I’ll get it Grin

PhilomenaButterfly · 13/10/2018 10:52

Acey you calling her your wee princess makes me smile. There's no question that you're going to be a devoted mum. She's going to be the best dressed little girl in Ireland at this rate! 😆 Don't forget, she must have a special cuddly toy! DS2 still sleeps with Bear at 7yo, and currently has him draped over his shoulder while playing on the tablet! 😂

I had a cheese and mushroom omelette, DS2 had a bitesize breakfast. 😋🍄🍳

AceyMac13 · 13/10/2018 10:54

Happy anniversary fluffy!

iolo that’s an unusual name I’m going to google how to pronounce that Grin sounds like you have a lovely Christmassy day planned!

So baby girl is either going to be called Lorelai or Addison, i absolutely love Lorelai but get some strange reactions off family members when I say it, it’s still my firm favourite though!

AceyMac13 · 13/10/2018 10:56

Aww thank you Philomena- you made me tear up, damn hormones Grin she certainly will be the best dressed wee princess in Ireland at this rate Grin oh yes the special cuddly toy, I forgot about that! I will have to have a look on my many shopping trips! That’s so cute that your DS2 still sleeps with him!

PixieMiss · 13/10/2018 11:00

Gosh I dropped off this thread so early in. Lots to catch up on! Christmas is feeling so strange for me. Ive said before and I dont want to keep bleating on but its my first as a single parent and my word is the guilt eating me up.

Huge congratulations Acey I had a list of girls names as long as my arm Grin I found out my DS was going to be an S at the 20 week scan and still didnt have a name till he was a few hours old! I settled on Henry but my top girls name was Luna.

Sorry to hear your news Heavy it can be so bittersweet when someone who is ill passes away.

Happy anniversary fluffy

AceyMac13 · 13/10/2018 11:01

Oh my god I’m in love, this is so cute 😍😍
Funnily enough, if baby comes 9 days early she would be born on St Patrick’s day - that would be one helluva way to make an entrance to the world Grin

Right, time to get ready for shopping and lunch now my mind is at ease Grin

Have a grand day everyone!

AceyMac13 · 13/10/2018 11:02

Helps if I upload a Picture Grin

Fluffy It looks really nice, almost finished too! what's the next project?

Acey good idea seeing an optician, hopefully they'll be able to tell you whats causing the floaty stuff. That baby vest is adorable! I hope your midwife appointment goes well on Monday :) .

I wish we were using the Irish spelling of Una but DH is very insistent and we both have to be happy I guess.

crazy how is your blanket coming along?

wreck that sounds awful! pre-eclampsia is a nasty thing to get . Flowers

Pixie you're not bleating on, it's your first christmas where things are going to be very different, you're allowed to feel anything you like about it but I'm sure when Christmas comes around it'll still be wonderful, try and push the guilt away, you've not done anything wrong. I'm biased though as I spent a lot of my childhood wishing my parents were divorced.

AceyMac13 · 13/10/2018 11:38

Just about to head out and go shopping for my wee princess, she’s going to have more clothes than I do Grin

Pixel - don’t be daft you’re not bleating on at all! You shouldn’t feel guilty at all, I’m sure you’re an amazing mum and you’ll have an amazing Christmas Flowers
Thank you for your congratulations Grin Luna is a beautiful name, and I like Henry too Smile

Seafood - yep hopefully the opticians will be able to tell me what’s causing the floaters! Thank you, I love the baby vest too Grin I’m hoping my blood pressure will have gone down Monday, but it’s good to know there are options available if it hasn’t Smile

Oonagh is beautiful but so is una too! Yep you both have to be happy which sucks when you have your heart set on a name! That’s the plus side of this baby daddy being non existent, I can name my wee princess whatever I want Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 13/10/2018 12:18

Acey, make sure you also get a couple of packs of cheap, bog standard vests, as cleaning poonamis out of frills will be 🤢🤢🤢

We are going out out in the village tonight. It won't be a heavy night though as DS has a play date which DH is taking him to and I'm taking DD to the cinema for 10am.

My next project is another from the same range. Photo attached.

Seafood, I started with a MASSIVE Winnie the Pooh sampler for my nephew in my early 20s for when he was born. My second was a massive Beatrix Potter one 2 years' later for my niece. Nothing like going in at the deep end! 😂😂

A word of warning about special teddies - I bought a 'my first Christmas' bear for DS when he was 9 months. He had about half a dozen teddies and didn't show any preference for any of them until 18 months later, when suddenly he wouldn't be parted from 'Christmas Bear'. By which time they didn't make them any more, so I couldn't get a spare! Shock I found one earlier this year in a charity shop that I wandered into whilst waiting to meet DM - I nearly cried with relief.

I didn't mean to panic you earlier, Acey, sorry. I love the name Lorelai - there was one at a baby group we used to go to. Her brother had a really unusual name as well.

It's very gusty here too. DS and I got a bit windblown on our walk.

Enjoy your day off, MrsM.

Happy anniversary Fluffy. That other kit is beautiful too!

Seafood I find it quite relaxing, and there are kits for all types - depending how ambitious you are! You can usually get cheap ones for a couple of pounds in Hobbycraft or Boyes.

Flowers Pixie

Hope you managed a nap, Wreck Brew

AceyMac13 · 13/10/2018 13:11

Phew just taking a coffee break and a sit down, shopping is exhausting when pregnant 😂

So my mind is made up, wee princess is definitely going to be called Lorelai Grin it makes my heart flutter when I think of the name or say it Grin

Firefly - you honestly don’t need to apologise lovely Smile I love her so much already so I worry when something isn’t quite right! I’m glad I spoke to a midwife because it’s put my mind at ease until Monday Smile

Fluffy - bejesus I didn’t even think about trying to get poonami’s out of frills 🤢 thank you for that warning, I will definitely be buying some plain ones now Grin

I’ve seen the most gorgeous flamingo travel system, and I love flamingos so I’m definitely buying that Grin

Mrsmadevans · 13/10/2018 13:17

Fluffy missed it was your 6th Wedding Anniversary m'dear Congratulations and have a wonderful day Flowers

WreckTangled · 13/10/2018 13:17

I LOVE that name and would consider it if I ever had another girl (not gonna happen)

WreckTangled · 13/10/2018 13:23

Have given the dc some Jaffa cakes and let them put a film on whilst I've come upstairs for a nap. Have warned them I'll take all their pocket money away if they misbehave Grin

Mrsmadevans · 13/10/2018 13:42

Crazy this is how bad it has been sweetie
